When I told him it didn't, his next response was, "Pay another $2.50 then." I calmly told him I had already paid. Instead of helping, he escalated immediately and told me he would call the cops on me if I didn't leave. I said that was fine with me, and he then pulled out his phone and started recording me. When I said I would be filing a complaint with Chevron, he called the manager, Manny, over -- not to address the issue, but as a "witness." If this escalation suggests I was aggressive, I was definitely not. This was a massively outsized response to what I thought was a simple request related to a malfunctioning air pump. The speed of the escalation makes me think this may be a recurring issue. Based on this experience, this location does not meet a basic standard of customer service. Staff should be able to handle straightforward problems without immediately escalating to threats and recording customers.
