It did have the usual snacks, soup, hotbox, deli, drinks..it also had vehicle merch., shirts, crystal ornaments, caps and other such items. So you could shop a little. There was a messy discount bin in one of the main aisles and the drivers lounge is filled with boxes of merchandise. We ate at the Denny's inside this establishment and got a drink to go at the Flying J. The cashier waved us over to her register then completely ignored us when we was talking to her. My husband asked for a receipt and she was already waving over another customer. Ring em' up and move em' out kind of thing here. I didn't appreciate that at all.

I have avoided this location because the exterior appearance looks a bit run down. I had expected a typical gas station convenience store feel but the store was well organized and fairly clean. It had a similar feel to the newer Maverick locations. Located on Main Street in Layton, it is easiest to access as you are heading south, though there is a turn lane if trying to access from the North. The parking lot is small but when I went, there wasn't any issues finding a spot to park. The employee helping me was extremely friendly and welcoming. I may need to start coming to this location more often.

I parked my car on the gravel behind "Slim Olson's", where other cars were parked. There was no sign of me breaking the law. Afterall, obviously "St George Express" and "Slim Olson's" have an agreement or understanding that cars will be parked here with it being a designated meeting point for riders. My car is a nice car and obviously wasn't a breakdown. It had been parked there out of the way on Saturday Oct 27 at 12:20pm and I returned to pick it up Monday Oct 29 7pm and to my surprise it was gone.

The attended told me that I needed to go park up by the propane tank because "thats where they look for ya". After waiting up at the tank for about five minutes I pushed the call attendant button, I was told that they had already sent someone up, waited another five minutes for the attendant to come up and fill my tank. After he'd filled it I followed him back down to the store to pay. The attendant there barked my total at me and after I'd paid thew my recipt across the counter to me.. I love the Nitro card that lets me earn double points that I can apply to free gas cards - or I can try my luck at entering their drawings for boats, trucks, snowmobiles...all manner of toys. It's always a mice surprise when I get my bonus free drink or bonfire snack at the register. (I think every 10th is free) And my dirty little secret...I REALLY like Maverik's egg rolls....enough that I will drive to a Maverik JUST to get an egg roll. Is my palate taking 3 steps back, or are these egg rolls really good? LOL I have no explanation, only rationalizations. A nice gas station / convenience store…read more If instead of paying-at-the-pump you opt to go inside, you'll almost always be greeted with a "hello" from the employees. It's part of their initiative to make the place feel very welcoming and friendly. The store is well organized and has pretty average prices. They do have a few specials to entice return business in the form of punch cards. I'm not sure of all the punch cards they offer these days. They used to have a "milk" card (buy 10 gallons get 1 free). I know they still have a card for fountain drinks and for car washes. Overall a pretty decent place to get gas and goodies.
