The course was highly imaginative, getting away from the "square range" mentality by using terrain and purpose-built structures to teach improvised shooting positions and techniques for engaging targets out to 100 yds. either singly or working in tandem with a partner . As always, Kevin is not only a true expert in his field (many who claim to be are not), but also funny, engaging, and always helpful without any of the "ego" some instructors inject into defensive firearm training. I attended the class to get my certificate to apply for the NC concealed carry permit, but I left class with so much more. Most importantly I have a greater respect and understanding of my rights and responsibilities as a gun owner. I have to say, them being open was kind of a God-Send! I have been cooped up over a month inside the house. Don't get me wrong, we have a really nice house, however every once in a while I DO like to get out every once in a while. Not only did we feel safe and respected, we were the only 3 people (Husband and youngest child-age 23) who had the entire rifle room to ourselves. We did get there early and had a fantastic time, not to mention, safely getting rid of the frustration of being cooped up. When we were finished, and coming out, the lobby was starting to become busy, so we skedaddled out quickly as not to have to be close to people unnecessarily. We felt better and more centered. Let me break this place down to you--great proximity to the Charlotte region. Nestled away, I was able to find this hidden gem easily. I felt safe from the moment I entered the door. There are no issues with parking; they have a large and well-maintained parking lot. They offer a wide selection of firearms for rent at a fair price for your use. This wasn't an issue for me; I brought my own guns. The staff were excellent - a young gentleman and a lovely young woman were working on the Sunday afternoon I visited. Both staff members could not have been more knowledgeable, helpful, and pleasant. Everyone had a great attitude, which was incredibly refreshing. I felt extremely safe. I hope this review doesn't attract the typical losers I've met at other rangers near CLT. Fellow range users were very friendly and showed an interest in getting to know me. Price was right! - I would consider the membership; it's just that my schedule can be a little erratic. Would definitely return. Once again, I want to stress how pleased I was with the level of safety and the quality of the facilities.
