We bought a Sea Ray 390 with some known issues at a very good price. The engine cut out on our way back from Virginia Beach and the vessel view was saying that one of the engines was running over temp, which prompted a safety-shutoff . We pulled into Chesapeake Cove on the advice of the previous-owner's technician. Even though we had no appointment and they were VERY busy the week before 4th of July, the techs took some time away from their regular work to help us out.
They were able to plug in their computer, do a diagnostic and determine the issue was the manifold risers (which we were told was a likely issue, in our survey).
They were very thorough and professional. They told us we could get home just fine, as long as we watched the engine temperatures. We had a lovely shower in the bathhouse, filled up the boat with non-ethanol gas and they loaned us a car to get dinner/groceries and comped us the overnight berthing costs. The price they quoted was considerably less than what our marina in the Potomac quoted, so we're considering a trip out to effect repairs in the spring. read more
