None of them spoiled our weekend, and for the price, this site is a gem. The site has two fields for camping. The first includes both tents and caravans and includes power points. It also features free-range chickens, which we decided to avoid. The other field was dedicated to tents and has no electric hook ups. On the minus side: A water tap in the 'tent' field would save relatively long walks with heavy water cans. Whilst the new showers were very good and clean, the water did run cold at busy times over the May bank holiday weekend. The showers are new for 2011 and the water heating is due for an upgrade in 2012, so this problem should be short-lived. Note the old showers to the rear of he Hall still require a 50p payment in the meter. Not a problem for me, but if you're used to wet shaving, there was a lack of hot water and a mirror in front of a sink On the plus side: afternoon cream teas were served from the coffee shop on the lawn An on-site bar and coffee shop An on-site farm shop, with farm shop prices, but the quality to go with it 5 minute walk to the Kings Arms, Wing Within a stones throw of Rutland Water Free wi-fi available in the vicinity of the hall well priced campsite and friendly staff Overall, I would recommend this site to a friend, especially if you're an outdoor type looking to explore Rutland Water and the surrounding countryside. We willbe going again.

This must be one the largest and very level campsite we have stayed on. Showers cost 20p for 3 to 5 mins, play area for the kids with climbing frames, swings, etc in a fenced area next to the shower block, nice little shop for basic items, a good variety of wildlife, security is provided by a key coded barrier Overall a well sheltered with plenty of large trees campsite

Came here earlier this year had a wonderful stay in a treehouse then returned recently and had the…read moreopposite experience in a bell tent. The tent was infested with flea beetles and earwigs and at night it was like being in a horror film. We are avid campers and have never ever experienced anything to this level. We complained to management and were met with a refusal to accept that there is a problem at all despite the fact that the manager witnessed it herself and us sending photographic and video evidence to the customer services team. Probably the worst customer services I've ever experienced and this is supposed to be a luxury glamping site!! Avoid avoid.
