Their hours and days open have changed some here and there. Call or look up hours and days of operation before going. Parking can be hard to find at times because of the location, but more often than not, you can get a place to park and walk a short distance to stop in. You can get them to go or eat there at their tables. Usually have a large selection unless it's close to time to close for the day.

Super friendly service just like you'd expect from a little country store like this one. Next morning, I got the fried egg, sausage, and cheese sandwich. Made on plain, toasted white bread just like I'd do it at home. For the backpackers that visit, you can camp here for a fee, but there's a camp site (Coopers Bluff) just .6 miles away on the trail. They also have indoor seating that was a welcome relief after being on trail for four days.

This place is only open FRIDAYS and SATURDAYS. It is easily a local favorite for bbq. I enjoy the pulled pork sandwich the most, including baked beans (which has ground turkey in it). The smoked chicken would also be in the running for my favorite as it is very juicy and soft to bite into. I have never had a bad meal here and would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. It is very easy to spot as usually there is a huge smoke stack coming out the back where the meats are being smoked. Usually a 5-10 minute wait. If you want good bbq and are in the area on a Friday or Saturday I would most defined stop here.

Mr. Kurtz sells raw milk and pasteurized milk from his dairy as well as grass-fed beef. I wish I still lived in this beautiful state just so I would be able to purchase from the dairy on a regular basis. Oh yeah and you can visit them, too! "Tours of this working dairy farm are scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. See cows being milked and learn about a dairy cow's life.
