Visited Consignment World today for the second time in a few years…read more My in-laws vacation in Kentucky every summer, so we always hit the antique and consignment shops during our trip. After visiting three other antique stores in Cadiz on Labor Day, we had the most luck here. Consignment World sells antiques, more modern items, new and handmade items. Individuals rent their own booth space and can fill them with whatever merchandise they want. Store is quite large; primarily clothing in the front and housewares, home decor, toys, artwork, collectibles and furniture in the back half of the store. I spent about $40 on several things---mostly vintage/modern items that will make great gifts this upcoming holiday season. I even scored a great deal on macrame cord. We were here for at least an hour and could have stayed longer---didn't even make it to the clothing area. Vendors set their own prices and I found them to be really reasonable. Super friendly staff. You can easily social distance in the store. Highly recommend!

So excited that I'm the first Yelper to leave The Running Rooster a glowing review…read more This little shop is everything. I visited a lot of antique stores and cute shops in the Eddyville/Cadiz/Paducah areas, but this one is by far my favorite. Robin and her husband, David, own the business. The shop is located just adjacent to their own home. When you arrive you're actually pulling into their large driveway. The outside of the shop is expertly decorated, so I knew we'd be in for a treat. Everything about this place is just cute, even it's size. It is a small shop, but five of us managed to be in there at the same time. They sell everything from vintage items and antiques to newer/modern items, jewelry, tchotchkes, trinkets, wind chimes, souvenirs, homemade jams, salsas, woodworking crafts and they can even personalize signs, coasters, etc. So cool! This would be my #1 place to find gifts if I lived in the area. They have an eye for cool things and the store is laid out beautifully. There is something to look at in every corner--they've maximized their small space, that's for sure! I love how they throw in seasonal touches--right now they have some adorable fall merchandise. Checkout the handmade wooden Candy Corn. Robin and David are extremely talented people. They do sell some of what's in their shop on Etsy. The prices in the shop are very reasonable, though. I left with a dreamcatcher, necklace and a jar of homemade salsa for $20. So wish we had found this place earlier. Eye-catching signage located off the interstate, at the end of the road the shop is located on, and at the end of the owner's driveway. Look for the 'open' sign at the end of the driveway to indicate whether or not they're open for the day. You can't miss it. They sell gift cards, too. The owners are originally from Iowa, so that makes me love this shop that much more. Will make at least an annual trip to The Running Rooster. Highly recommend.

Everything from genuine antiques to more modern/upcycled items. They also sell a small selection of Amish canned goods. Vendors who rent the booth spaces set their own prices and prices are negotiable. There were bargains to be found. Employees were not wearing masks, but 99% of customers were.

What I enjoyed most was the treasure-hunt aspect of the experience. Instead of seeing the same types of items over and over, there was enough variety to keep me curious about what might be waiting in the next booth. Even if you aren't searching for anything specific, it's a fun place to browse and enjoy a little nostalgia along the way. They provide carts for shopping, which is really nice if you have mobility issues and need something to hold on to while walking. I could spend hours in there under cooler temps. I would recommend that if you are sensitive to the heat to choose a cooler time of the year to go shopping here. Today is August 23rd and even though it was an inside flea market it was very warm in there, very little air conditioning or air movement at all. The other thing I would like to add is pay attention to whether the booth you are buying from is running a sale. One of my items was supposed to be 20% off but you have to let the cashier know about each booth sale or apparently you won't get the posted discount. This was my first time shopping here, so I wasn't aware of that and missed getting my discount. Overall it's a great place to find unique items and fun to see all the old things from the past.

My only complaint is that it's not handicap accessible at all (it's an old building there isn't much they can do to change that unfortunately) and it gets HOT during the summer, there doesn't seem to be any AC but they do have a lot of fans around that help! When checking out today I was drenched in sweat, and the cashier mentioned how nice out it is and I agreed but said it's a little warm inside, and she just started arguing with me telling me that it's not hot in there at all (it was easily over 95° in the building, especially in the back where there is no air flow) another coworker seemed to try to deescalate the situation and explain that they're just use to it being even hotter in there, and I agreed with her because this was nothing to fight over. But the whole experience was so weird and tone deft. I'll still be back, usually the staff is very friendly. I guess just don't mention the temperature lmao
