The woman said that the building was made out of old scrap pieces from built down homes in town in the 70,s. She told us the house right next to it was built in 1913. This building has a lot of history with a lot of different things for anyone. It is a cute little local shop and worth a visit. The new owners are super nice and she always wanted to open a coffee shop.

So, my daughter and I made our way in to see what kind of neat treasures we can find. Walking in, it's quite overwhelming. It's a good sized store front but they have a lot crammed onto the sales floor. We made our way through through the store and they have some pretty pieces available. Tea sets, furniture, clothes. Surprisingly, I was quite taken back on some of the pricing her. I found an old birdcage and they wanted almost 200 bucks for it. That is some crazy business. Some salad bowl sets were 10 cause I couldn't imagine pricing anything above that. A tea set for 175 dollars. As full the store was with product, nothing really stuck out to me. To be honest, this place had a thrift store vibe with crazy pricing. Is everything vintage? No. It's a neat store if you're willing to maneuver your way through all the clutter. The pricing is out of this world and you can probably find similar things at the Idaho Youth Ranch for a quarter of the cost. It was neat that we made it in to check out but it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Then I remember reading on the Carder-Steuben Club website about a thread on repairing glass which lead me to Montano's Antique Glass Repair. A couple of emails later, it was double boxed and shipped off to them for repair. Quick turn around and it's now presentable. I can't believe how good it looks, if you're a Steuben or any kind of glass collector, Jan & Wayne can be your best friends. Wayne is honest and sets reasonable expectations and at a fair price. There is a MASSIVE collection of records in every genre. The records are very competitively priced and there were tons of collectible records in exceptional condition. Ask for Bill or Rori, their music knowledge is exceptional and they are great at finding the exact albums you are looking for. There is something here for everyone from coin collectors to art and even clothing pattern collectors. The space is really big so plan on looking around for a while. I used to collect insulators and found a bunch here and while I no longer collect them, it made me smile. If you are out hunting for interesting finds, it is worth the trip to Caldwell to check it out and if you are a record collector this is a must in your travels and will become a regular stop.

I asked for a…read moremoment to speak to my husband about a very large purchase and the worker would not even step back out of our faces so we could look at the item and have a private discussion regarding the item and price. She said people steal so she stays right next to the item even when the customers would like some privacy to examine and discuss the item. Ridiculous. My husband and I are over 60 years old and couldn't run that fast even if we were thieves. It was a horribly uncomfortable shopping experience. Prices are crazy high too!
