Y'know I had to check out a used clothing store while in Paris, it was a must. And I remembered this one from my student days, hit or miss but fun for "the hunt." When I last visited, they didn't have a bunch of stores the way they do now. First I stopped in to "Espace Femme, Couturiers et Créateurs japonais" at 114 rue du Cherche-midi. This was quite disappointing, but still give it a look see (I saw some cute things in larger sizes, so it's good to know that such women exist in Paris and buy couture). The "japonais" section was anemic or possibly merely sold out. Next, I went to "Espace Femme,Prêt à porter et Créateurs 102 rue du Cherche-midi" ...this might be what we'd consider ready to wear/more high end mall type shops. They have things from Agnes B, comptoir des cotonniers, american vintage and a few other popular French brands. There is a back kind of sale room with tons of stuff sorted by color....I found two very cute, very french tops for 8 EU each and then tried on a pair of black skinny jeans which turned out to be Zara. I convinced myself I couldn't find them at home. Trying on clothes in Paris is often a team sport, the cabines have no mirrors so you are forced out into the open. This has created many bonding experiences. The Zara skinny jeans turned out to be a bit too distressed (read holes that only a goth teenager could love), I looked at my neighbor who was older than me and said "Je crois que je suis plus agee pour ces pantalons" to which she replied, "Mais ils sont dans le chambre rouge en solde, il faut les acheter."
