Love to eat at this place. Service is slow, both worth waiting for. Price is reasonable. Chicken shawarma is tasty but little dry. Lamb gyro is full of flavor. Simple ambiance. Parking on the street. Moderate noisy. Come and enjoy.

We absolutely love this restaurant! We dined in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Chef moussa took our order and delivered all the food to our table! We ordered the chicken shawarma platter with hummus, fries, and a side of cucumbers. We also ordered the chicken Philly sandwich. The platter comes with 3 pieces of warm pita bread. We had plenty of leftovers for dinner. We loved everything!

The food was very fresh, and the chef was extremely kind and welcoming. It was a great experience overall, and I encourage everyone to try it.

Fantastic and authentic addition to Peoria's strong food scene, us two guys dropped in to see what's going on with one of the highest rated restaurants in the area. Quickly figured out why! The friendly and cozy family feel right from entering to service and simple atmosphere without screens or music reminded me why less provides more. We tried a sandwich and shawarma platter. There was a surprising wait for both that got me excited for fresh and properly put together ingredients. And low and behold! My friend immediately ordered another for his wife! This food is so good! Wholesome and full of those vibrant Mediterranean flavors, good goals here filling up to burst and no weird bloated greasy gross feeling after. Can easily recommend!

This place is awesome. If you are in Peoria then go here. You will love it. It is some of the best Middle Eastern food in the state. They use the freshest ingredients, the service is phenomenal as Moussa interacts with the guests and unsure a high quality experience and it's a great value. We paid around $70 for a family of four - 2 Chicken Sharwma platters , hummus with chicken large and a beef sharwma sandwich. So good and filling (Note I would be writing more - but since I have been kicked off Yelp Elite - my reviews are limited. Maybe it's a good thing as I will be more candid with negative reviews)

Amazing food, Moussa made me feel like family!! I told him I have never tried zaatar, he added some to my order. Delicious!! I love the vegetarian and vegan options. I feel great dining here and supporting the family that makes this awesome, awesome food!! Will be back!

Amazing fresh hummus and warm pita bread

I had the pleasure of eating here for the first time today. My friend and I were wide eyed at every single dish we sampled. The Za'Atar Pita was by far the best I've had anywhere, beating out my favorite restaurant in L.A. Humus was outstanding. But the Falafel Sandwich literally had me saying "no way" after the first bite. Supremely delicious. Generous portions fairly priced very clean excellent staff. Highly recommend, especially if you're vegetarian.

If you ever stumble across a 5* review on Yelp, you best check it out. I am happy to say Chef Moussa lives up to every star! GYRO PLATE SO fresh and flavorful! Literally unlike any experience I've had in my 40-some years of life. Even the raved reviews of Papagus in Barrington pales in comparison to this experience. CHICKEN SHAWARMA WRAP Delicious and easy two meals if you only eat half. Focus on the fresh pita, sides, and drink; you're good for another lunch later in the week. The lively vibe and timely delivery of freshly cooked ingredients (such as pita--that I should warn you--are served AFTER the meal arrives) were on point. We absolutely LOVED our meal and were even more happy with the reminders of this experience as we snacked on the dessert tub available at checkout. I hear what other Yelpers are struggling with as the youngest family members are now stepping in to help. That being said, I completely agree with Yelper, Jason P. who acknowledged the youngest daughter took their "order and rang us up like boss".

Literally the BEST Mediterranean food in Peoria and surrounding. The remodel since last year is stunning. Great customer service, excellent food and friendly owners & chef.

Best chicken/beef shawarma, hummus, pita, tahini, fries, and garlic sauceI've had in years! Best service from Chef Moussa himself! And you can't beat the relaxed feel of the restaurant. $30 for 2 people with leftovers. Worth the drive... Easy A+

Great first experience here. Chef treated us well and was very patient and kind to us, knowing it was our first time. Place was very home-y and inviting, won't win any decor awards but was welcoming in a family way, Mattie of fact his sons was getting a chess lesson beside us. The food was very fresh and filling, something we appreciated- couldn't finish it all and ended up eating the rest for dinner. Would def go back to see Chef Moussa!

There is no food option without onion and garlic. Can not eat here if you can not digest garlic and onion.

Salaam, everyone!…read more Mention anything Middle Eastern and my friend gets excited. She loves her culture and where she comes from so she gets excited to have meals that are close to home for her. We've talked about trying Jenin Village for awhile but life finds a way to keep everyone busy. But we got lucky and our schedules lined up and we dropped in on a chilly Wednesday afternoon. I told her that she may have to explain some of the menu to me. As culturally diverse as Peoria is, there doesn't seem to be nearly as many Middle Eastern restaurants to try as there are Mexican, Italian, and Chinese... so my knowledge of them is iffy at best. We walked in to an empty restaurant (possible missing the lunch rush) and were quickly seated. I had the pleasure of having the sun in my eyes so I fidgeted with the blinds until I could see properly and stop fidgeting in my seat. Ivonne took the time to explain a few of the menu offerings and what things would taste like. She said she would get super mad if I ordered a burger. Thankfully I was fully on-board for trying something new. That new thing was Beef Shawarma. Ivonne got a mixed platter of their meats that was basically a 3-meat kabob meal. She said the offerings were large and I said I was hungry but boy, did it look like a challenge once the food was placed in front of us. The wait was a bit longer than usual for the restaurant but I assume that is from them cooking everything to order. My first few bites were confusing. It being middle eastern food, I was expecting it to have some spice... some kick... some pizzah (is that how you spell that?). This was 180 the other direction. This was sweet. Like, nutmeg sweet. Once my mind wrapped itself around the idea of sweet meat and rice, I was fully on board. The rice was long grain which was new for me to try. I asked Ivonne if I am supposed to mix the rice and beef together and she said it's however you want. So, I alternated bites of them together and them separate. I didn't have a preference on how I ate it cause it was delicious either way. Ivonne let me try her pita bread and dip and that was also confusing at first. The hummus dip made me think of peanut butter due to the texture but after I was halfway through the pita bread, I was starting to appreciate the flavor and texture. We also ordered water with our meals and that came out in bottled water. Not sure if that's normal here but something to note if you are thirsty. They may charge for additional bottles if you are feeling like a camel? The interior was nice, clean yet somewhat sparse. I am used to ethnic restaurants taking pride in their culture and adorning the walls with things that evoke the feeling of their country. Jenin does the complete opposite and keeps it plain. While it would've been nice to see some Middle Eastern stuff hanging up, it doesn't detract from how the food tastes at all. This isn't the first Middle Eastern place I've ate at and it won't be the last. Ivonne told me about all the places in the Peoria area and we are going to try and visit them all starting in 2024, adulting be damned!
