Kelly's has served me as my local off-licence for years, and I love this place. The staff are…read morefantastic, the selection is very good, and they offer some great deals. The guys generally pick a selection of wines to put on special in the centre of the floor, generally around the €10 mark, and they change frequently: for example, during the summer, you're likely to find some fruity barbecue wines on offer. Advice is available if, like me, you don't know much about your wines, and they're more than happy to steer you towards value-for-money rather than try to upsell. As a beer man myself, Kelly's is miles better than the other local off-licence. They stock all the usual suspects in an open fridge, but they also have an excellent selection of quality imports such as Flensburger, Baltika, Spaten, etc. They stock some good Irish brews as well, and regularly have five for €10 on some of the good European beers. Better selection, better staff, and good deals. What more could you want? While you could probably find better bargains on mass-produced plonk in Tesco's or similar, these guys have a great selection and know their stuff. As a small local business, they do an outstanding job serving their customers, too. And if you need it, they can sort out your party needs with glass hire, too.

Excellent off licence on Baggot Street…read more I knew it as it's former incarnation of Oddbins from back in the day. They do wine and do it well, with a massive selection. They always have prosecco on offer or part of a deal. This time it was two for 22 EUR. I opted for a decent chilled French rosé, which was 13 EUR. They have a well stocked wine fridge, if you need a bottle already chilled. They also have a decent craft beer and cider selection too. Which is another reason we frequent here. You know there'll be a good choice to decide from. They also sell Sheridan's cheese, but we've not tried it from here. Another thing that interested us on our latest visit is we noticed a Deliveroo sign. They're on Deliveroo!! They don't sell a big range on through the app and the wines are at the higher end of the scale price wise, but still it's handy to know the service is there. Staff are alway nice to deal with.

It's such a cozy little spot, perfect for enjoying some wine, and their food is good too. We purchased our wine upstairs, from an excellent selection. We were out for Portuguese wine and we were impressed with their stock, since it tends to be limited in most shops. We had to decide between a few but purchased a bottle of Nieport red: Lagar de Baixo from the Bairrada region, which was excellent! We went downstairs and asked if we could chill the wine slightly, the waiter was very nice and brought a bucket of ice. We sat in the sort of lounge area, in big comfy chairs near the fireplace, and it just couldn't have been more cozy. We also tried their bread and spread plates and they were both very good, we particularly loved the bacon jam! We are looking forward to being back (and often) to try more of their wine and food. The staff are so helpful and welcoming, the selection is excellent, the ambience is lovely, it couldn't be better! Highly recommended for an evening out with friends, or a romantic date night.

It's not a fly by night flashy frontage, it's got character and substance. So exterior sorted, the interior carries on that tradition. I don't feel the need to repeat what all the other Yelpers have said but concisely put - these folks know their beers and you will discover a whole new world once you grace this place with your presence ... Mmmm that wasn't very concise now, was it?!

Care to sample Double Chocolate Stout, Banana Bread Beer or Whiskey Ale? If you ever feel like experiencing how diverse beer can be, go to Deveney's in Dundrum, grab a selection of beers (e.g. German Schlenkerla Rauchbier, which decidedly tastes of liquid smoked bacon or the excellent Belgian Trappist Beer Chimay Bleue) and invite friends over for a tasting. They shall not be disappointed. For sheer bang for the buck (e.g. for parties) I would probably stock up at the regular supermarkets who can afford to buy large quantities and pass on the discounts, but for quality and new taste experiences, Deveney's is certainly my first pick. Plus: Very good selection of beers and wines, in walking distance from the Shopping Center on Dundrum main street, friendly service, good value promotions. Minus: As with any other off-licence, some of the better or more exotic drinks can be a bit on the pricey side.

And in this case I was right, The Vintry was my first wine shop, the first place that showed me that there was such an astonishing variety of wines and grapes and if you could afford it they would happily guide you on that journey. It was here for example I discovered there was such a thing as white port. Granted, I thought (and still do) that it tasted appalling but that's not the point, I got to try it! The shop is well stocked with a good selection of wines, probably veering towards the French neck of the woods but I'll forgive them for that. They also sell cigars and have a very respectable selection of bourbons including my personal fav Woodford Reserve. Tremendous.

They also have saw wood and the floor, which really just takes you away to another place. They're also really passionate about their wine and they've got the awards to prove it! This is a great place to come if you know absolutely nothing about wines. The staff is full of knowledge and they're willing to take you through until you find the perfect wine for your occasion.
