Our 1st visit to a Cheddar's restaurant. Our wait time we were told was 20-25 minutes. The rolls were warm and delicious. The rolls should really be unlimited during your dining experience. Stopped by Cheddar's for a date night, it was our first time here. It was about 6:00pm on a Friday night and the two of us were able to be seated right away. The restaurant was clean and staff was quick and friendly. We both enjoyed our food. I ordered the blackened salmon with broccoli cheddar casserole and a loaded baked potato. My husband ordered the Key West chicken and shrimp with a Caesar salad and fries. The chicken and shrimp came with a dipping glaze that was so good! We both enjoyed our plates and went home with leftovers. We also ordered a Trio sampler for an appetizer which came with chicken strips, chips and queso, and spinach dip, which was all very good. My first time visiting was yesterday. My brother told me about Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen and I'm very glad I went. My family and I ordered: Shrimp and fries, 16 oz ribeye with loaded baked potato and green beans, Steak and ribs with broccoli & cheddar casserole, and steamed broccoli. Our appetizer was the cheddar bites. Everything was absolutely mind blowing delicious . The sweet croissants my gosh so good! And I must say our waiter was very helpful and courteous. The first time we went to Cheddars was when one opened in McDonough, Ga about 2018. It was good then, lots of variety in the menu and flavorful offerings. We have not been to a Cheddars since well before the pandemic, and by then our culinary interest in Cheddars had lost its luster. But here in 2025, we thought it was time to give Cheddars another chance. We were seated near the back, and our server found us within 5 minutes of being seated. CLUE: She was the best thing about our experience. My partner and I ordered onion rings as an appetizer, and they were pretty good. Lighter batter, thin rings, crispy. And a nice dipping sauce. One gold star for Cheddars. I ordered the 6oz sirloin rare with loaded baked potato and "southern green beans." My partner ordered the chicken pot pie. When the food arrived my plate was exactly as described: the steak was rare, tasty, and evenly seasoned. The baked potato was loaded with sour cream and cheddar cheese that covered a small potato. Actually for my dietary needs the potato was a sufficient portion with too much sour cream and cheese. Now for the Southern Green Beans--I have lived in the south all of my life and I have never tasted beans like those before. Southern beans are usually cooked in some stock like chicken or maybe beef with a piece of ham or bacon for flavoring, and maybe a pad or two of butter. Not these beans. I am not sure what the seasoning was but considering this is early March these beans probably came from Southern Chile. Not edible for a Southern American palate. And sadly the disagreeable side influenced the potato and the steak with broth. My partner's Chicken Pot Pie was lovely to see, great presentation, but on the inside there was too much broth and pie and not enough of the vegetables. The chicken was plentiful but out of balance with the vegetables. His broccoli as a side was coated with some glaze that was off putting. I know that the new trends in dining is for pairing unusual flavors with traditional food like broccoli and green beans, but sometimes foods are best left alone especially when applying a regional adjective to the description. I moved near Pooler about seven years ago. I regularly went to Cheddars where I'm from, so when we saw the Cheddars here we went right in . Bad service, food wasn't good. Tried again, same thing; so we stopped going. Fast forward six and a half years, family couldn't agree on where to go, someone suggested Cheddars, so we gave it another shot. I was happy to find things have changed! There were several parties waiting, but the staff was managed it well. Our server was top notch and very nice, I wish I got her name. You can't beat $6.99 for 1/2 a monte cristo sandwich and a house salad with their fresh from the oven honey butter croissant. They said 10 minute wait. 25 minutes later called us to go in. Wait staff took 15 minutes to get us drinks. Food was mediocre. Friends meatloaf was totally burt. There's not much to complain about, other than a table nearby wasn't cleaned off for nearly 10mins. When it arrived, their wasn't a lot of sauce like the pasta tasted like flavorless pasta and we got more Alfredo sauce and it gave it more flavor and I tasted the sauce and to be honest, it didn't taste like Alfredo sauce, it tasted like Parmesan cheese sauce idk what you call it. A mixed experience. I arrived as a single at dinner hour on a Tuesday evening. I was invited to dine at the bar, which I declined. A ten minute wait ensued. When I was finally seated, I was led to a booth...in the bar. I nearly refused it, but was ready to eat, so I sat. As I began perusing the menu, I immediately regretted that decision as two women seated near me, obviously with too much to drink, were being loud and obnoxious. I continued perusing the menu, choosing my drink, appetizer, entrée, and sides, taking my time to do so. It was at this time that I realized I'd been waiting for some time for my server to appear. That's when I started the stopwatch on my phone, deciding that at 5 minutes I would leave. At 4:30, she appeared. Her initial greeting was "I didn't see you there." My first thought was "Well, maybe if you'd looked..." She took my order then came back a minute later to confirm it. She brought my drink and salad without a word. The appetizer and plate were brought by kitchen staff. Now to the good part. The food was delicious! I had a half rack of baby back ribs and they literally fell off the bone! The knife was a useless utensil. My server walked by once and without breaking stride asked "You okay?" I never saw her again. I was clearly an afterthought. If that. I paid at the table kiosk and left a tip commensurate with the service. A small tip leaves a clearer message than no tip. My hope is that my server was an aberration on an otherwise fine wait staff. I can say their To Go ordering system and store management in general is lacking for insight and strategy. The website seemed to be locked up and the app is generally garbage. I'm a software engineer of 28 years. I ordered my food 1 hour early via phone and received a text that my order was ready. When I arrived, I was directed by the very professional Hostess to the back of the bar area where I saw a server taking To Go orders from a line of people. I also noted a bag of food sitting to her left getting cold while she placed 3 additional orders (15 minutes). Once she took care of those orders, she ran the bag out to the waiting customer. I looked around and found the Mgr at the bar in small talk with customers and playing a Host. Once the server came back in (5 minutes) she ID'd me for my order, took my money and ran to put together my order (another 7 minutes). All together, 27 minutes waiting for an order I was told was complete and ready for pickup. Management was lacking tactical skills. The simple fixes: Have a buser run the orders out to the waiting cars while the server took the orders. The Manager could have played Expediter for pending orders when the server was order taking. There was no reason for me to wait 27 additional minutes for an order that I was told was ready to go. We're going to have to think twice before coming again. read more

Second, the country fried steak was 3x3 steak covered in 6x6 breading and tough as a boot. The other items were sub-par but I think you get the gist so I'll stop there. On 7/20/24 choosing Cheddars to celebrate my brother birthday for the weekend was a mistake! I want say it was a Party of 13, we were told in advance that it would be a 2 hour wait, cool, no big deal. The adults immediately went to the bar ( might I add phenomenal service). So, of course we had our beverages and appetizers to help with the wait, should have been our first red flag, but we continued to wait, even suggested that we didn't have to sit down together, I noticed a major leak in the area that we finally got to sit down in after our wait. Server came over bubbly and attentively. Since the wait everyone knew what they wanted, we then waited another hour for our food to arrive at our table only to be cold. Explained it to our server, asked to speak to the manager, cold and undone food is the complaint and she asked would we like to wait on hot food to come out, no ma'am. Everyone was ready to pay and just leave by then. Togo boxes for everyone and the check please, that took another 45 minutes, the manager discounted everyone ticket for 10% and never returned to explain what was happening or anything! We never seen her on the floor for the remainder of the night. In all of my managing career I would have never treated guests like this. 4 hours at a restaurant to not eat. Starving, Pissed, and Shocked. Being Very Disappointed is an understatement! I will never return to this restaurant again! I travel to this area quite frequently because of work with large groups and family and I will make sure that they know our experience. Three stars is really a gift. My wife ordered the salmon which she said was good but a bit dry as it was overcooked. I ordered the Texas T-Bone steak medium-rare with baked potato and a side Caesar salad. Rather than bringing the salad before the meal it was brought out after serving our entrees. It was served shoved into a soup bowl and the dressing and croutons seemed old tasting. I would never order it again. The baked potato was fair but not as good as Wendy's. The steak was a poor quality meat, below supermarket grade and it was very dry and very well done rather then Medium-Rare. As bad as all this, as soon as I cut into the steak I knew it was overcooked and not edible so I got the attention of our server who was taking the order at the table behind us. But rather than come to our table to see what I needed as she had just served our meals, she left to put in the other table's order and never returned! After finishing my baked potato I finally went to the bar and asked them to locate the server. Eventually, she arrived with my soup bowl of salad and I explained the well well done steak issue. A new steak was brought to me cooked properly by it was not a quality 16 ounce T-Bone for $20.99. Guess the price should have raised questions, but it was listed on the menu as their signature meal. read more
