After three days of uninspired Orlando dining options, this was a refreshing find! Of course, we happened upon it on our way out of town, and hopefully, my four star rating doesn't prove inflated because of the prior days experiences. But I would consider Cheddar's a triple threat, successfully executing service, food, and ambiance in a market saturated with fast food and run-of-the-mill chain restaurants. The decor's warm, earthy tones and combination of textures was clean and very inviting. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to share the restaurants commitment to fresh, quality ingredients with us, as first-time diners. The food was everything you would expect from "made-from-scratch" comfort food recipes. Delicious! Let me start by saying that I have had lunch and dinner previously at this location. Never really had a problem until this past weekend. We were a party of 9. They do not do reservations or call-ahead. The wait was about 30 minutes (which was not too bad). We placed our drink and dinner orders at one time to avoid any delays. I'm not sure if that was wise because 4 of the dishes came out incorrect. In addition, our server had the lowest voice I've ever heard. We could barely make out what she was saying. They were able to correct most of the dishes. My daughter ended up taking her dinner home because they tried to correct it and brought it out incorrectly again. So by the time, they brought out the right order, she was over the whole idea of dinner. I would highly suggest that management encourage their wait staff to check the food before bringing it out to avoid order errors. read more

First of all, I don't remember the name of my server which is a shame because he was wonderful! He was so friendly and knowledge and a serious hard worker! This guy had SO many tables. Each person at the table gets a honey butter croissant and you can order them as well for an appetizer. I will be the first to tell you... I hate croissants. No idea why but I do. Regardless, I tried them and wow! These were great. They were fresh out of the oven, buttery, flaky and not like any other croissant I've ever had. As for the main dish, I kept it pretty simple and ordered the Caesar Pasta Salad which was a great portion size and delicious. The first thing I like to say is I wish there was a cheddars scratch kitchen near the area where we live so that we could come to this restaurant more often. There aren't very many in the Area where we live. Therefore whenever we have the chance to go to a cheddars we make sure we get there. We love the food and we love the selection at this restaurant. Racist staff... After having our reservation messed up and waiting 80 minutes when initially wait time was 30 minutes; we got denied a table with chairs instead of a booth. We complained and the waitress, an older lady with white hair, said we needed to go back to the country we came from. It's outrageous to hear that straight to your face. In laws rave about this place and they are not wrong! The food isn't particularly creative, but it's good - the chicken tenders were perfectly crisp and not overly salted and shrimp came with rice. Their broccoli and cheese casserole was overly salted and used the cheese product instead of real cheese (they advertise scratch!). Cole slaw was very fresh and light though! They have frozen margaritas that are strong and good for 5$ a giant glass - I don't even like margaritas that much and I found myself stealing more than a few sips from hubby. We went to the Loop location in Kissimmee for the first time today and it was not good. The lady at the front was on her cell phone and let us stand there for several minutes. Then she could not decide where to sit us, so we went to the bar. Big mistake. After about ten minutes waiting and the bartender literally standing right in front of us, I finally asked for water. He brought it and then ignored us again. A few minutes later, I asked if we could order. He took our order. My husband's food came out in about ten minutes. He was done eating and we waited another 25 minutes for my meal. By then, we just wanted to leave. The bartender had plenty of time to chit chat with coworkers, and sat in a booth with another customer whom he apparently knew, but the service was terrible and the food very mediocre. What a great family restaurant! We are all so happy we found it. I love the concept that they make everything from scratch in-house. Lots of parking in front and around! They make reservations, we made one for 5, 5:30, 6:00 and 6:30. Each time a hostess would pick up ever so friendly and update it for us with no hesitation. When we got there our daughter fell asleep so we had to transfer her to the stroller. The staff was accommodating and we were able to have the stroller parked right next to our table while we ate. They don't have free bread but instead have an appetizer of croissants covered in something gooey. We didn't order the appetizer but when I told my waiter Sean my daughter woke up starving he brought her one right away. She loved it and gobbled it up right away. Three of us ordered the Salmon dish on rice with baked potato and green beans. The salmon was cooked to perfection, moist and crispy on the outside. It was delicious we all ate our meals with such delight. My husband ordered the turkey club and did not enjoy the turkey he said it was slimy and was more like processed turkey from deli. Our amazing server Sean just replaced it with a steak and cheese sandwich and my husband loved it and gobbled it up. We had amazing service and we all enjoyed our food. This is our second time back here. The first time we went right as it opened and we got seated almost right away. This time we had to wait almost 40 minutes to get a table on a Saturday night. For the area it has good food with great prices. I almost wish there was one closer to my house so I could try more menu options. I wasn't feeling very adventurous so I just stuck with chicken tender platter with fries and broccoli. The chicken tenders were definitely hand battered. It came with honey mustard sauce which I am usually a fan of but I did not like theirs at all. The chicken tenders were okay- I don't know if I would order again though. I came here with my wife and Sister and her husband. I was seriously impressed with the immediate seating for the 4 of us with a crowd waiting at the door and no reservation. I guess the others had bigger parties. We sat down the service was great, and the drinks came out quick. Might I add the Strawberry lemonade was on point. Really great, not too sweet to enjoy the sourness. Strawberry chunkies made it yummy. Had the Bacon Cheese Fries that were oh so yummy. A full portion is MASSIVE, and that was more than enough for the four of us to the extent we brought it home. Later the dog ate it. No complaints there either might I add. The steak 20oz was cooked perfectly but as expected had nothing on Outback Steakhouse HOWEVER the price more than made up for that. What I did enjoy was a different flavor, it had a minor spice kick to it which was enjoyable. Not sure if this was intended, but it was great either way. Corn and soup was small, but I was more than full after everything. Couldn't finish the steak, but it was great in the oven reheated the next day. The potato soup was excellent, just small. I recommend the full/bigger option. The potato chunks, and soup creamy thickness worked surprisingly great together. The elements weren't lacking, the seasoning was on point, just small portion. The wife had a sandwich that I did not try. She enjoyed my steak to the extent she ate most of it the next day. This was my first time here and I am seriously IMPRESSED with this establishment. I'm usually not one to give one star to restaurants, and i'm really hoping that this was just one time occurrence that happened to me and the party I was with. We arrived shortly after 8:30 PM (party of 6 adults, and one toddler) we were placed on a wait list- although there was no one else waiting in the lobby or outside, we were told 45 mins and provided a cellphone number to get a text message/ call when our table was ready. We sat outside and then moved inside to the lobby. About 30 mins into waiting, one of our party guest approached one of the hostess and asked for an update on the table and informed her that we were waiting right there (in plain sight). 45 mins passed, and we continued to see people who were arriving get seated right away, the hostess rudely told us if there was something wrong with the phone because they sent the text messages and no one went up to claim the table, so then she told us we had to wait longer. The toddler was now becoming upset, because she was getting hungry and tired- at this point there was a manager and the hostess and a waitress looking at our party and then they all scattered and didn't stand at the lobby desk any longer. Finally, we were called to a table. The waiter was AMAZING! He was quick, attentive and made sure to bring us croissants and the toddlers chicken nuggets right away. The drinks from the bar were big and tasted great! We were all excited to have a delicious dinner and placed our food orders. When we got our plates, everything looked great until we all cut into our steaks. Everything was RAW. There was still blood in the steaks and severely undercooked. We informed the waiter right away and he told us he would take them back to be re-cooked and that the manager would come around to speak to us to apologize. Time passed, no manager. The waiter then came back and had to inform us that the manager said they will re-do the steaks, but all of our side items could only be warmed up in the microwave. We did not agree to that and we really felt bad for the waiter who you can tell was very embarrassed to tell us this news. Finally the manager came to the table explaining that she had no idea what was going on, and that she NEVER said that it would be microwaved. At this point, we knew it was time to leave. It was around 11:15 PM at this point and everyone was upset and hungry and we didn't like the way that the manager was handling the situation and putting the waiter in the middle. We opted to pay for only the drinks (as thankfully they does us we didn't have to pay for the food) and we left. The whole experience was subpar. We have been to Cheddar's before in other parts of the US and never had this bad of an experience. It started out with our booth or the carpet in the area where our booth was, smelling like pee. The smell was overwhelming. Our waiter was nice, the other staff that bring the food to the table were rude. The food was not fully prepared and was cold. We ordered buttered croissant and the butter that is supposed to be melted was hard. My husband ordered fried chicken with gravy and they did not give him enough gravy. On top of that the chicken was undercooked. He gave me to try because it tasted weird. My son tasted it too because we thought it might be him. But when we cut several areas we could see the pink. We all went home grossed out and with a belly ache. The manager came and apologized and even offered to give us something else, he took the chicken took off the bill. A friend of mine was raving how good the food is so we decided to try it. Since the restaurant is new to my area, it was very busy- 45 minutes wait. We asked for a menu to see what they had to offer while we waited. We actually got called in after 30 minutes and I was looking forward to trying out their sweet rolls, onion rings, and steak and rib plate. The appetizers were delicious, but my steak, disappointing. I asked for it to be medium and it was well done. My sister ordered the same thing and she couldn't even finish hers. I fought to finish mine. Denny's makes a better steak! She complained to the server, and she apologized. My son had the buffalo chicken wrap and that was delicious! I didn't like their fries either. Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our experience at cheddars. The atmosphere was relaxing and modern. The waitress did a great job. The food was excellent. We ordered ribs and they were some of the best we've had. The bones were full of tender meat and the sauce had a perfect flavor. The portions were generous, so much so that we had enough left over for lunch the next day. We tried the cheese bites which were good, a little salty but still tasty. Server (Cassidy) came by shortly after, she explained the menu and advised us of items not to get while recommending some faves. For entree I got the key west chicken and shrimp, this was pretty good, chicken cooked perfectly and shrimp was flavorful too. I just wish they put more rice. The problem came with my gf food. She was excited to try the steak and ribs. After ordering, we were informed that they were out of ribs , so she ended up getting the ribeye. A few mins later manager comes by and apologize that they were also out of rib eye he said " it was an extremely busy week for us." Disappointed, she settled for steak and nuggets. When it finally came out it was extremely well done (asked for med rare ). Server quickly apologized and came back with a steak (rare ). She was too hungry at this point and just ate it. I felt awful for the server as it seemed like everything was going wrong with the table, but she kept her clam and was accommodating as she could've been. I love Cheddars. Great food and drinks. But today I came to the Kissimmee location and was appalled at their lack of Covid precautions. I stood in the lobby for about 5 minutes. Saw at least 10 different servers and bus boys. Every single one had their mask below their nose. I could see into the kitchen hallway and every single one had their mask hanging on one ear. I walked into the bar area and there were 3 people standing behind the bar without a mask on at all. A cook emerged from the kitchen with no mask on his face or in his hand. I left. I'm generally a fan of Cheddar's and find that they have good portions and decent food for a slightly lower price point than comparable places. Here for lunch mid-week. I had the full slab of ribs for $16.99 and they were ok. But that is likely $5 cheaper than you would pay elsewhere for ribs. The sauce was good and ribs were cooked well, but these ribs are the slightly larger variety and so not your fall-off-the-bone tender type. The slaw and cheddar broccoli were good sides. My Wife enjoyed the salad she had and some bar drink that was on special. Service was excellent with Barbara and food came pretty quickly. They upgraded the decor of Cheddar's a few years ago and they are nice places. This establishment was clean and well run. We had read on other reviews their chicken tenders were good, so we ordered the appetizer portion. These babies were amazing! Great crunchy crust, tender juicy inside! They were served with honey mustard and awesome, creamy, flavorful mash!! I ordered my favorite Mojito and unfortunately it tasted like mint water so I sent it back and ordered a cherry lime cocktail which also was like drinking fruit punch!! I know corporate wants to train their bartenders to be precise and stingy with the alcohol content, but what happens is the food is great but we get pissed at the drinks, you don't have happy customers! Also the coke tasted like Florida water, you need to filter your water better! Onto the entrees, I had the baked potato soup with bacon crumbled on top that was simply delicious!! The chicken pot pie I ordered had a wonderful flakey crust with an awesome filling of huge chunks of white chicken meat, veggies in a creamy sauce. Excellent!
