This was my first and last time I step foot in this business. The lady there seemed pleasant at first and asked me if "this was the first time cashing a check" and I answered "yes". I showed a picture ID..., A UNITED STATES PASSPORT... to be exact. She said that she had to verify, so she took my id and my check to the back desk. She took her government-issued cell-phone and called someone "to verify". It could have been her friend, boyfriend, brother, sister, husband, who knows! After waiting patiently for about 5 minutes, this lady refused to cash my check, and gave an empty "I'm sorry.... but it's our policy. This is my FIRST TIME in your business! I was in a bit of a bind! How would I know your policies if this is my first time cashing a check in your establishment? Your sorry doesn't get me to Manhattan, or pay my rent, or put food in my refrigerator, or do my laundry.
