We, a party of 13, ordered and sampled varieties of dishes from the lunch menu. For starters: we chose Pate della Casa, Oriental Tempura King Prawns, Seafood Salad, Mussels Provencal; mains: Duck Leg, Spicy Pork, Slow Roasted Pork, Braised Beef, Spaghetti alla Bolognese, Fettuccine al Salmone, Fusilli Amatriciana, and Lasagna. All dishes were mostly well prepared with good presentation. In addition, we ordered garlic bread, garlic bread Mexicano, and garlic bread & cheese. To top it off, we had Mixed Berry Meringue Nest and Vanilla ice cream as dessert. The staff was very professional, attentive, efficient, and genuinely polite. The dining experience was superb, enjoyable and pleasant! Although the location is out of the way and not in town, but it is worth the drive out to enjoy a good lunch!

I was invited here for a birthday celebration meal with my other half's family…read more I was a little bit nervous as I was told it was quite posh and I'm not really used to posh. Turns out it's really not super fancy, but the other clientele were quite smartly dressed, and it seemed that there were quite a few groups of young women dressed up to the nines, so I was glad I'd made a wee bit of an effort. It seems to be a very popular place for family celebrations as well as couples. Italian food is always problematic for me, as being vegan and gluten free tends to rule out everything on the menu. However we phoned ahead and were assured they would make something for me. I had a lovely starter from the menu of roasted veg - peppers, asparagus, aubergine, courgette, served with a side salad and some lovely pickles. Main course was a specially made dish of gluten free pasta with tomato sauce and veg - not terribly creative or exciting - but what I would expect from an Italian restaurant, and I'm glad I was able to get something, and it was tasty. We were in a fairly large group of 11, and staff did well with the timing of the dishes coming out so that we could eat together. There weren't any mistakes with the meals, but a couple of the group were a bit disappointed in their meals - over cooked steak and chewy lobster. It was also very noisy where our table was, at the end of the ground floor as it was next to a mirrored wall and the floor was tiled, so it was difficult hearing anyone who wasn't right next to you, and a couple of the older members of the group really struggled because of the background noise. Staff were pleasant and even joined in with the Happy Birthday rendition as the birthday cake was brought out, which was a nice touch. They let us bring in our own cake too, so that was good of them. In seems to have a nicely taken care of outside area, with fancy water features and an extensive car park. There's also a huge children's play area outside to keep the kiddies occupied.

A quick review about Angelos after my visit last weekend. Firstly- a really impressive bar area and…read morea good vibe upon entering. We were a party of 16 for a friends birthday and taken upstairs a little out of the way, which was nice as it was a bit more private. When we were waiting downstairs though for the rest of the group, the waiters couldn't be more attentive - asking for drink orders etc. Once we were sat upstairs out of the way, we got more and more ignored, resulting in a few people in the group getting up to search for waiting staff to order a drink from. Seeing as we were a large party they should have been loving the fact they could get a lot of money from us all with drink orders. Anyway, I ordered a crab, salmon and avocado salad starter, in which I was told they were out of crab. I said I'd happily have it without crab, in which they said I couldn't. This made me question if the salads are already pre-made up? I mean, if it's a fresh salad, surely they can make me the starter minus the crab? I went for a chicken and duck salad instead which was nice, but nothing exceptional. I ordered a pasta dish for my main which came with ham, sausage and chillies, although when it came there was no sausage in there. Wasn't too bothered, after all I ordered one of the blandest options on the menu so I didn't really expect it to be anything too great, and I can take or leave sausages in my pasta. It wasn't bad... Just nothing spectacular. Everyone else in the group was fairly satisfied with the food, so that was quite a good sign. We then got two bills brought over to us at the end, which was a mix up from the staff, just to finish off on quite a low point. I don't venture to Preston too often but if I was to go again, I'm not sure i would book in to go back to Angelos. Very standard Italian with just ok/poor service.

I love Franco's! A…read moregorgeous Italian Restaurant on the outskirts of Preston. Franco's is by far my favourite Italian Restaurant and very probably my most visited eatery. The food here is fantastic and the pricing is great. For as long as I can remember Franco's has always been my restaurant of choice for any special event. The staff are great - so friendly and welcoming. They cook the food to your specific requirements and nothing is too much. You should definitely visit Franco's if you're in the area. Why not have a day out shopping in the village of Longridge and finish the day with a meal here. I have moved away from the area (a good 200 miles haha) but always make sure I stop by when I'm visiting the area. I've eaten a lot of different dishes on the menu but my favourite have to be... Starter: Fungi Stilton (Stuffed garlic mushrooms with cheese) Main: Tortellini Barbara (Cheese stuffed pasta with a creamy tomato, chilli and garlic sauce with salami) Side: Garlic bread with cheese (very cheesy!)
