Overall, the high review comes after the expansion of their parking lot. If you are familiar with this place you will know that it used to be a two-way entrance now it is a one-way. Careful when coming in because a car might be backing up or confused it is a one way! I highly appreciate that on the trail they consistently have signs to show you if you are allowed off trailing or not. It is helpful to see a map in case you are unsure how far you want to go in. Take into consideration the amount of miles going in and out. Usually my partner and I go up to the 2nd mile maker which is the bridge overlooking the river. And building up your tolerance from there.

It's located at the part of the park where Glatt and W Street intersect. I could tell it was very well taken care of by the gardeners. The forecast was partly cloudy in the mid 50's. The garden isn't very big but I enjoyed the variety of flowers that were in bloom which is generally between May and September. Our visit was during the Memorial Day weekend. Took some time taking lots of photos of the colorful blooms including a collection of gorgeous dahlias... wish they had labels for all the flowers for us who are botanically illiterate. Flowers are beautiful subjects for photography that's why I love botanical gardens. The garden also featured a wishing well and a gazebo for small gatherings and events and, also, a small sundial, unfortunately, there was no sun at that time to tell the time of day ツ Sadly, we weren't able to go across to the park. Hubby already had too much walking for the day ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Review #3771

This trail has no signage...so a gps mind is helpful. I used the go out, out and out and find a way back plan. Lots of crisscrossing dirt roads, found some new, hard to follow, barely there single tracks, dead-ends, a small jump park and some super fun but short runs. Unfortunately it was muddy and I should actually have stayed off some of them but I was in a controlled state of lost. It was late afternoon and you would get into these shoots/gullies that got dark fast so I made a premature turn back on a brutal up hill. My STRAVA map gives me a much better look at the layout now. It's a new trail system with potential for growth. There is a small trash problem that has the neighborhood on edge...so pack it out! Skill level- medium , fun level- high. .

On the north side of the parking lot is additional trails through a fenced area where farm/grazing animals are kept, it looks like there was a slide into the ocean as part of the barbed wire fence is dangling above the beach below. Be careful around here as there were some visible cracks in the earth above the slide area so I quickly backed away from the edge. Worth the drive for a picnic or a breather, I'm sure the beach below is beautiful as well. But with any ocean cliff environment, always be safe.

The river is mostly hidden behind trees, and the path runs right past a scrap yard--complete with old machinery and piles of metal. To top it off, there was dog waste everywhere. Does no one clean up after their pets here? On the way back, we decided to try heading south from the Lodge instead. That section was much nicer--better views of the river and some pretty mountain scenery. Unfortunately, there was still plenty of dog waste (and even horse waste), but at least the surroundings were more enjoyable. An okay trail, but I wouldn't go out of my way to check it out.
