Well I can't say that I am reviewing their skills at massage because when I arrived for my…read moreappointment which I booked over the phone the woman says to me "oh sorry we had you in our system but when we sent you a link to give us your information we did not get a response." Instead of the link being sent to me we see that they have my number down as a 313 area code instead of a 312 area code. Dumb mistake, but you don't compound the mistake by canceling the appointment. So I had been waiting all week for the massage because I had some pretty bad neck pain and so now I am sitting outside writing my review. The woman at the front is a rather young girl who did not know how to really handle the situation and all she says is "well I can book you for Saturday or Friday. Opps no, Saturday is filled sorry. What about a shorter massage on Friday?" I said, sorry and left. No offer to account for my wasted time or effort to be where I said I would be in advance, sorta blows my afternoon. Next time they should act like any other professional when they can't get the customer on the phone, keep the appointment and wait

Atmosphere The…read moreatmosphere at Crystal's cottage is welcoming, cozy, clean, and immediately puts you at ease. Unlike some salons, spas, or massage studios that can feel sterile or clinical, Crystal's space feels warm, comfortable, and peaceful. I have always felt safe and relaxed there, which is incredibly important to me when receiving a massage. Service I've received about five massages from Crystal so far, and each one has been a unique experience. Before every service, she asks about any problem areas, concerns, or requests. If you've seen her before, she also checks in on how you've been feeling since your last visit. During the massage, Crystal is attentive and communicative. She asks for feedback on pressure, temperature, comfort, and any adjustments needed, then responds thoughtfully and professionally. It never feels like a one-size-fits-all service. She offers a variety of tools and techniques, including hot stones, hand massagers, red light therapy, and other devices that she explains much better than I can. I simply get to relax and enjoy the benefits. The oils, lotions, cleansers, and serums she uses are either fragrance-free, lightly scented, or have a pleasant essential oil scent. Everything feels high quality and carefully chosen. She even has an essential oil for sore muscles that creates a cooling sensation and feels amazing. Value Crystal's prices are absolutely worth the quality of service she provides. I've had massages at larger spa chains like Massage Envy, and they simply do not compare. At many spas, when you book a one-hour massage, the actual hands-on service can feel closer to 50 minutes because time is taken out at the beginning and end for undressing and getting dressed. With Crystal, I never feel rushed or like the clock is being watched. The experience feels relaxed, intentional, and fully focused on the service. Crystal offers a much more personalized, comfortable, and thoughtful experience, and her pricing is very reasonable for the level of care she provides. Overall Crystal is a true gem. She creates a customized massage experience every time and makes you feel genuinely cared for from start to finish. Her space is relaxing, her service is thoughtful, and the overall experience is far better than what I've received from larger spa chains. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a comfortable, personalized, and high-quality massage.

I did try the hot rocks which were very hot, but I did get used to them. I prob won't do that again. It was $10 extra. Luckily, the cranky old man wasn't there, so I didn't have to argue about the tip, but I was generous. We will go again.

It was still the hardest pressure I have ever had on a massage and was mostly painful, even after I asked her to go lighter. I was certain I would bruise after. I understand that this is a preference though so that may be ideal for some. The part that really took away stars for me was that she thoroughly massaged my feet and then, shortly after, moved to massaging my forehead and temples. I was cringing the entire time she's touching my face thinking that she was just touching my feet.

As now all of the words "massage" has been replaced with the word "acupuncture" with tape and a piece of tape on their menus. I asked the person at the front desk to explain and with very little knowledge of English, he was unable to do so. Then, was told to call a number and someone else picked up the phone in which I repeated myself nearly five times and he was unable to articulate it either. Then, he shows up to the shop, completely ignores me, serves a customer who purchased a Groupon (in which I'm paying full price), and completely ignores me. How dare someone expect you to pay money on a service that is not well-described and are unable to answer any questions that a customer may h It was pretty awful, especially as you come to these places to feel relaxed and now I'm more worked up then I was before I came.
