We hired Solano Law Firm to help with an adjustment of status. At first, they appeared very…read moreattentive, but after we hired them our experience was not great. The total cost was $12,605.55. This was for translating about 10 documents, filling out appropriate forms, and paying the immigration/admin fees. This did not include help with preparing for the interview or the attorney going with us to the interview. They requested an additional $1,500 if we wanted assistance with the interview. We opted out of this. Communication was a major issue. They consistently failed to answer phone calls. This included calls to their general office, the dedicated client lines, and to the numbers posted online. Our calls went unanswered regardless of what time or what day we called. Sending them an E-mail is no better as they often don't check emails either. Throughout our case there were multiple changes in personnel handling our case. The paralegal assigned to our case changed 4 times and the actual attorney I believe changed 3 times. We were often never informed of these changes. Due to this we found ourselves unable to find who was supposed to be working with us when we had questions or needed assistance. At one point one of the paralegals requested we sign documents without allowing us sufficient time to review them. We let her know we needed time to review them and she was very annoyed with us. When my documents were finally being submitted to immigration, we didn't even know which attorney was looking over to make sure everything was correct. Halfway through the process my husband and I talked about switching to a different law firm and the attorney working my case at the time assured me that there would be no further issues with getting ahold of her or the paralegals and we reluctantly agreed to stay. I really, really wish we hadn't. Nothing, and I mean nothing, changed. I received my green card almost two weeks ago. I was told to pick it up in the office and they would go over the next steps and that I would also receive a call to do an exit interview. We got there and a girl simply handed it to me. Nobody discussed the next steps with me and almost two weeks later we are still waiting on this exit interview call. Can I say they did their job? Sure. Was it a happy, pleasant, positive experience?? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Not in a million years would I recommend them to anyone. During a time when an individual is at their most vulnerable and needs reassurance that everything is being handled by professionals, the team at Solano Firm painfully failed. If you're looking for an experience with a law firm that gives you peace of mind and professionalism this is not the law firm for you.
