You can't complain about the price...it is free!...and newly opened today.
There are four levels accessible by a wide..and very white..staircase. Not sure how long it will stay that colour. Of course, there is a lift for people who don't like being bedazzled by a staircase.
The top floor has plenty of indigenous work, old and new. The only criticism I have of this room is the labelling. The names and/or the mob the artists belong need a map of Australia to show where they are from. On other floors there are similar pieces of artworks and they have a map to accompany.
The other floors contain a variety of objects from Egypt (mummies and their coffins/sarcophagi) and China (statues and china) etc We allowed 90minutes as we could only get 2hr parking in Glebe. It certainly wasn't enough time to read and take it all in. However, after 10am, there is parking outside the uni if you are quick, but check, I don't think it is time limited until 3pm.
There is a coffee shop on site if you don't want to leave the building.
The numbers are limited in each room due to COVID. Some people were wearing masks (mainly the people who work there) but they are not compulsory. read more
