    The Peppertree

In a nutshell: another world…read more Why? To explain quite how outstanding The Peppertree is, I need to put things in context Four of us were almost in the middle of our six plus weeks away from day-to-day life in London. We had already enjoyed spring in Japan, at the peak of the cherry and plum blossom season and, following a short break in Sydney, we arrived on South Island in NZ, God's Country. One night in Christchurch, and scenery beyond description on the trip across the island on the TranzAlpine, a night in Nelson (the happiest place in NZ) and more views beyond imagination on the coastal route to The Peppertree, just outside Blenheim Could we really be impressed any more? We were greeted by the corridor of pepper trees, a passage into the sanctuary that is The Peppertree. If the place were to have a strapline, it should be: Having enjoyed nature's gift to mankind, come enjoy our gift to you Hospitality beyond expectation Countless thoughtful details, an intuitive grasp of each individual guest's needs In my case, the third cup of the superb Havana blend coffee To accompany the feast which was offered as breakfast: birchen muesli with cream and yogurt (and their own raspberries), yogurt with their own apricots, the freshest fruit salad (with their own really fulsome peaches), eggs any way you like Even the walnuts in their home-baked bread are from their own trees. We were very sad to leave Promising ourselves we'd be back. So thank you God. And thank you Heidi and Werner
