I was helping my mother open a checking and savings account. At her age (71) and being retired, she needs a little hand holding through new things like this. We came into Chase because we got a $300 coupon in the mail for opening a new account. She really doesn't have much money, so an extra $300 goes a long way for her. Our banker / specialist at Chase was Laura Homan. Admittedly my mom can be hard to deal with. She would talk at you for hours if you let her, and bankers these days are very busy and typically have lines of people waiting. Laura was very patient with Mom, and went slowly through everything so she would understand. I've seen bankers that want to try and sell you everything possible. While Laura did a good job representing Chase and different options available, she never got pushy with anything. We walked out with a new account, some checks, and a couple hundred extra dollars. My wife called BOA to let them know she will be visiting Europe. She got to Europe and her credit…read morecard was declined. Her account is now locked. I went to BOA at Randhurst to get the problem resolved. They wouldn't help. I talked to two reps, with the bank manager just standing there saying nothing. They said they would not do anything without her there. My wife and son are stuck in another country with no credit card and they won't help her. Think about this before you open up an account here. BOA would do well to close this branch, however profits come before customers. Potential customers can look at all the negative reviews, draw their own conclusions and go elsewhere.
