I checked out the different credit unions here and I made a really good choice with this credit union. The only downside is that they run your credit to open the account so of course that sits on your credit report for 2 years. On the upside the staff in Burleson is friendly and professional and they have plenty of convenient locations. Just so you know, if you open savings only you do not get an ATM card. You will probably want to bring much more but the opening balance requirement is only the $5.00 that makes you a member.

Over the years, I have had loans with them that have been paid off. I cashed in some Exxon Mobile stock. I took the Exxon check into the bank to get a Cashiers Check. The bank would not do it right then. I had to put the Exxon check into my Checking Account to wait 2 days for it to clear, then I can get my Cashiers Check. I even talked to the Bank President. I had a 100% safe obvious situation, yet, no trust in me their long-term customer. "It will be a cold day in Hell" before I ever borrow any money from this bank ever again.

Many years lager we attempted again on a recommendation, again, not a good turn out for the service. For an institution that supports the military and its vets, it's obviously only for those with 750 credit or better. So, no car loan, tho we did get one with a batter rate and one of our other banks. The main issue I have here, is each location is almost a replica of the other in design and concept. For some reason, these get more foot traffic than any other bank I've had in my 40 plus years of banking and investing. They can have 8 people in line, and there are still, no matter what the location, only 3 tellers. And all sorts of business gets transacted at the teller, so waiting 10 minutes per person is not uncommon. It's actually ridiculously common. I'm better served depositing elsewhere than doing a wire transfer when needed. There is no drive up window, so waiting in the comfort of your vehicle is not a choice. I will say the staff is usually very nice and kind, that's the only plus. The benefits can be had at other military banks without the long wait lines, hassles for folks establishing in credit, and better interest rates.

I'm trying to be fair here. Aragorn if there were 5 people.... I'd be waiting there for a long time. I'd end up leaving. Not to mention I was there on a weekday around 10.
