It's got a nice reputation as a special occasion place, but there isso much more bang for your buck you could get anywhere else. This is average food, average presentation and average service, all at at five star prices. Used to love all the Charthouses nationwide that I have tried. Thankfully, this location was a better representation of the brand than the others I have tried over the past 6 months. (3 others) Unusual circumstance as it was a very large party, but service was EXCELLENT. Choice of 3 mains, mahi, prime rib, or a chicken dish....our table tried all 3 and we were all very happy. Salads were fresh with a delicious balsamic dressing on the side, bread was served fresh and hot, choice of white or a somewhat sweet dark bread (tasty). Everything was hot and nicely plated, which is tough to pull off with plated food for over 100 people. Scrumptious mashed potatoes and bright green perfectly prepared green beans. A different experience than prior visit. Was truly disappointed. When the waiter has to apologize twice, it's a bad sign. My entree came but never received my soup. (apology one) The entree/fish was supposed to be blackened. It had 4 or 5 black spots (pepper?) on it but definitely not blackened (apology two). They brought soup while the entree was being prepared properly. Received new entree and still the fish ($45) nor the winter vegetables had any flavoring at all. Very bland and by this time my husband had finished his dinner. I ordered a second glass of wine but chose a different kind than my first. I received a second glass of the same wine as the first. Didn't even bother to tell them. I had given up on this dinner experience by then. This place is expensive so I expect SO much more. We will probably never go back. This was our second visit to the Chart House. Our first visit was about 14 years ago; and since we had a Landry's gift card we figured we'd try it again. It is a large restaurant with multi levels and beautiful views of the Marina. I started out with a drink called Fleur D'Lis. It was made with coconut rum, pineapple & orange juice & peach schnapps. It was refreshing and yummy; but not too strong. (I don't like really strong drinks.). It was only $10....a very fair price. Our sever, Amanda, started us out with some fresh baked bread. My husband and I both decided to get the "Chart Your Course" dinner which was $43 for 3 courses. I ordered the chopped salad, prime rib & mini lava cake. The salad was delicious! It was quite large & chopped with a sweet & tangy balsamic type dressing. Then I had the prime rib which was a much larger than I expected. It was good; but not really hot. It came with mashed potatoes which were very tasty. My husband had the New England clam chowder which he said was the best he'd had in a long time. With his soup he also had the Shrimp Trio which consisted of coconut shrimp, shrimp stuffed with crab and grilled shrimp. It also had 3 dipping sauces. He like all 3; but his favorite were the stuffed shrimp. The best part of the meal for both of us was definitely the mini chocolate lava cakes! They were just the right size for one person and made with a delicious brownie, vanilla ice cream, a chocolate topping & some yummy crunchy toffee pieces on top! Just scrumptious! So much for redemption! We went back twice since our (excellent) 4/23/24 visit. Both times experienced some food issues (prior visit, the Calamari and last visit the Caesar salad were improperly prepared). The service during our last visit was HORRIBLE. Andrea forgot to offer us the lava cake, which would've been tolerable, except when asked about it, she lied (said they were out of them even though she continually offered them to other guests). As usual, there was no manager available to talk to. Why couldn't she just say. "sorry, I forgot"? And why did she try to charge us for food we didn't have? It's very disturbing to be treated that way. It's worse that I've written to Chart House repeatedly about this and (as usual) no one responds. After 14 years of visits, the one constant at this Chart House is that they always have AWFUL MANAGEMENT. It's as if they couldn't care any less. read more

There's always something wrong at this Chart House! I've visited a number of times on vacation in recent years. Some of the experience is pretty good, usually (but not always) the prime rib. The cocktails are very good. But there's almost always a problem with service and some of the food. Tonight, 2 entrees came before all the appetizers, the last entree came after everyone else finished theirs. One appetizer never came. At one point, we hadn't seen the server for over 20 minutes. The steaks were very overcooked, the calamari was inedible. And they forgot to put in the lava cakes so no desert. There's usually something good enough that makes us forget the disappointment but not tonight. Another awful dinner at Chart House! Probably my last. read more

Very disappointed! This was to be a special occasion dinner. Service staff was pleasant but busy. The location is nice but the restaurant needs to be renovated. The carpeting was torn and frayed in several places, floor lighting covers missing. I ordered the crab stuffed shrimp and it came out over cooked and rubbery. It was so over cooked that parts of the shrimp were dry out. My dinner date ordered the prime rib and it came out cooked as requested but was not tender and had to really work at chewing it. We were headed towards the beach to celebrate the 4th and decided to go over a night early and eat dinner and enjoy an evening by the beach. After looking at many restaurants, the Chart House seemed like it had a great menu with an amazing view of the water, so we decided to try it out. We called to make reservations. Similar to what happened to the lady who reviewed the Chart House below, we were sat in a corner booth almost facing the parking lot, squished in behind two families of four. Mind you, the restaurant is not even a quarter full with multiple open tables throughout the venue and along the windows facing the water. The service was extremely slow. It took over 15 min before someone even came over to our table and 1 hour and 15 to get our meal. There were no efforts to come over to see how we were doing during the wait. The restaurant wasn't even half full at this time. The food we ordered was good. It was similar to Outback steaks. Not a lot of seasoning on either the prime rib or Mahi that we ordered. They do have some of the best potatoes salad we have had, which came from the salad bar. Their calamari was very delicious too. We went to the Chart House for my birthday celebration. I was beyond disappointed. My friend and I had steak medallions. It was ok but not by my standards. The first medallion was just fat. The other medallions were just ok but not tasty. One friend had the early bird prime rib. It was mostly fat and very thin slice and well done not medium. My husband had the regular menu prime rib was excellent. Another friend had Miah Miah and asks for not to be well done . It came well done and so crispy that she could not cut. She sent it back, it came exactly like she first asked. The appetizer calamari and crème brûlée was the only made the meal good. The birthday cake was dry and tasteless. My boyfriend and I went here for our short spring break vacation and we really enjoyed it. The location is beautiful, right on the water. Everything we ordered was very good, as well as the drinks. The prices are a little overboard but we went in knowing it would be an expensive meal. Definitely not somewhere I could eat on the regular because of the prices, but we were not disappointed with our experience. The staff was very excellent as well, our waiter was super attentive and kind. I definitely do recommend this place, just be aware of the prices and it's likely that you'll have to schedule a reservation to get in here as well. read more

We have been going to Chart House restaurants since the 1980s. Before the closing of many Chart House locations in the early 2000s, we were trying to visit as many as possible. We have been to several in California, one in Hawaii, one in Scottsdale, one in St. Thomas, one in Louisiana, two in Georgia, one in Boston and this one (I'm sure I'm forgetting some). This Chart House restaurant used to be one of our favorites. The last time we went (not including last night) was before the pandemic. We were waiting for the salad bar to come back but it has not. We would have waited until it returned but decided to give it a chance since it was my husband's birthday and we had Landry's Select rewards to use. I wish we had used the rewards at Morton's Steakhouse instead. Had we believed the other Yelp recent reviews that said the restaurant had changed for the worse we could have saved ourselves both money and disappointment. Right off the bat we found out they no longer make mud pie do to a supplier issue. Mud pie is my husband's favorite thing at every Chart House. They should remove this from the website Daytona Beach specific menus as he was really looking forward to it. I did not care for the clam chowder as it had bits of shell in it. However, it was fresh tasting and not at all fishy. My husband had the chopped spinach salad and said it was delicious as always. For the entrees, my prime rib was completely lacking flavor and the texture was mealy. Frankly, it tasted like something you get at a cheap Vegas buffet. My husband had the New York steak medallions. While the pineapple ginger glaze was good, the steak itself was not good. Again there was not only a flavor issue but also a texture issue. We will leave the crème brûlée by just saying that it was not made properly at all. Other recent reviewers have described just how bad it is. They were right! All in all, the food was an absolute disappointment and a complete waste of money. The highlight of the dinner was our server Melissa. She went out of her way to try to make my husband's birthday dinner special. Unfortunately, that is impossible to do when most everything you're serving is terrible. If they ever bring the salad bar back, we will give it a try again. If they do not, we are sorry to say that this once favorite restaurant will not be visited by us again. I hope the management sees this review because they have done much much better in the past and could do so again! This restaurant was one of our favorites to take out-of-town visitors to. In fact, the last time we visited in 2019 we took friends from San Francisco to the Daytona Beach Chart House. Both are now huge Chart House fans and are visiting locations in California. read more

Great view, great service, great food. The water view was beautiful, and almost every table had a view. Brenna was the best server. She was attentive, friendly, and very personable. We absolutely loved her and will ask for her again if we come back (we don't live in the area). They cocktails were perfectly made, but the wine list was just okay. Their wine by the glass selection was not impressive except for the corvina selections. Those were pretty great though. They also had a nice dessert menu and a nice selection of ports and after dinner drinks. The steak was so tender and cooked to perfection. The portions were perfect. Made reservations for a Friday night. Seated within 2 mins overlooking the marina. Waitress was Hanan and she was simply adorable and efficient. Student at Emory Riddle in search of her pilots license. We started with calamari and coconut shrimp, both were well received. Our main courses were ahi tuna, sword fish, Mac nut mahi, and just a filet of mahi. Daughter was thrilled with the Mac nut mahi but she's very particular and not very experimental. I tasted it and it was very good. All other dinners were very good and presented nicely. We had or should I say my daughter had the creamed spinach and loved it as did we all. My wife loves the Charthouse, so for our 21st anniversary she wanted to go to the Daytona Charthouse at Halifax Marina. She ordered the scallops and I did the "chart your course". She also ordered a glass of house merlot and bread for the table. 15 minutes later the half of glass of wine arrived, 10 minutes after that the bread. Seemed to us, that was a Lil long to wait for bread and the place wasn't too busy. My wife has been in the service industry ever since I've met her and she knows how service should be as well as I. Now comes the Ceaser salad, wilty, no real seasoning, never did our server ask if we wanted parmesean or cracked pepper. I didn't want to say anything only b3cause we were on our anniversary date. Our main course wasn't any better. My salmon was average and I've actually have had better at Outback for over half the price. My wifes scallops couldve been done a bit more and was nothing like the way she remembered in the past. The only saving grace couldve been the molten lava cake that we shared on our first anniversary, but unfortunately it was dry, and not very lava like more desert like. And not to put blame on our server, but he was not attentive or personable and was more focused on getting us out of there. ​So, we spent $135 for a meal that we both agreed we couldve done better at home and will not be visiting your establishment again. Went here last night with the family as we always do when we come to town to visit. The views are unbelievable. Just gorgeous! The restaurant was very warm last night and our food took a very long time (over a hour). The lemon herb crusted salmon, lobster tail and New York strip were all very good when we finally did get it. Unfortunately, cannot recall his name but do remember he was the head server and had his name stitched on his uniform. Amazing Early Bird specials and if we lived in Daytona beach we would dine here frequently (and we don't usually do chain restaurants). We go to the Chart House restaurant in Melbourne FL every Christmas day to take a brother out to lunch but have never enjoyed this type of service (or, at any other restaurant really). We were celebrating a birthday and they even topped off the evening with a complementary dessert. The manager was out and about interacting with customers and the food was delicious. The apps came out before our cocktails. Ordered another round and after 15 minutes just asked for the check. Took another 10 to get the check. Terrible service very disappointing. Talked to the manager, he apologized and gave us a gift card for next time and asked us to be patient as he is making changes. This was my first time trying Chart House, and I had a great time. We were seated at a table right by the window so had a great view. We started with the Shrimp Beignets that were seasoned great, and very hot upon arrival to the table. I had the NY strip, and my partner had the prime rib and added a shrimp scampi on the side that we shared. When they meats arrived, they asked us to cut in the middle to ensure it was cooked to our liking, which I found as great customer service. This place was amazing. We were in town for a gymnastics meet and came here with my kids and parents for a nice meal. Menu is extensive and dining room has amazing views. Service was a bit slow but honestly, our waiter's charm and personality more than made up for it. The owner (manager) even alerted our party to an upcoming rocket launch which we were able to view from our table. As for the food... AMAZING!!!! My whole family loved the calamari- spicy. Best we ever had!!!! We had steak, salmon, lobster you name it! Dinner did not disappoint. This place really was that good. Although it was a bit pricey, it was worth the splurge. Family came here for Christmas Dinner and not one person left dissatisfied. I personally had the Surf n Turf and it was literally the best medium filet I've ever had, seasoned to perfection, tender and juicy. A few couples got the For Two drink flights and also enjoyed. Only negative was my dessert came cold, not warmed like it should. We waited a while for our dessert to get to the table, so I had to take it home and rewarm it to enjoy. But otherwise our waiter and any other staff that addressed us were very patient and attentive. Overall, I highly recommend Chart House and would definitely come here again. read more

If you have two or three hours to do nothing come here and eat.waited 20 minutes to get a Diet Coke, she asked if he wanted bread for the table and that came almost 40 minutes later. The filet mignon came out overcooked, but I didn't want to send it back because it would be another hour. It took two hours to get the food and eat. The weight staff is not attentive. I had to keep asking for a refill on my Diet Coke, and it would sit there empty she would walk by and not even notice. the prices are charged here is definitely not worth the poor experience. The restaurant was quite empty and I can understand why. The table next to us had two children with them and they were complaining as well. We left and they were still waiting for their desserts, and they were saying how it was so late that they're not even going to eat them. I took my wife and several friends to the Chart House Daytona Beach to celebrate her birthday. It was a Sunday evening and the restaurant was not very busy. We were promptly seated by a less than happy looking host followed by an introduction to our waiter. Our drink order took longer than usual to be delivered. The menu was explained clearly and our order was taken. One of our guests requred a vegan order that was custom make for her. Our waiter was very good and attentive but food and drink service was rather slow. We have eaten here numerous times previously and have always had a good meal with excellent service. However, this time was a big dissappointment. The vegan meal was undercooked with brocolli so tough it could not be cut with a dinner knife. I had ordered and looked forward to the halibut which seemed way over cooked and extremely dry. The sauce, while tastey, did little to help the texture of the usually delicut fish. My wife had the Austrailian Lobster tail. It was tough and difficult to get the meat out of the tail. The other meals, mahi and a filet steak were reported as good. While the ambiance of the Chart House is always enjoyable as is the selection of speciallity drinks, this evening was disappointing. read more

The Salad Bar which is $13.50 with an entree or $27 as an entree is sub par to say the least. Serving utensils that are never wiped down during the evening, let alone no hand sanitizer for people to use in the beginning is just plain gross. Watery end cuts of romaine, non replenished toppings, absolutely nothing special to justify this up charge .., unless you want to highlight the ridiculously salty "caviar"... The entree arrived an hour later... ordered the grilled mahi with mixed vegetables and mango salsa. Pretty basic and safe... Wrong!! The fish was so over cooked and dry that the tasteless salsa couldn't hide it. Couple that with Raw vegetables. Sorry I'm just not a fan of raw thinly sliced fingerling potatoes, hard green beans, and asparagus stalks (no tips). Needless to say, it went back and I won't be going back!!
