I called to try to make a Saturday appointment since their hours are only by appointment on Saturdays and I work during the week (and they close at 2:30 during the week). The gentleman I spoke to was not just rude, he was extremely condescending. I explained I work during the week and my husband is in a wheelchair so he cannot come on his own during the week. Since we were wanting to spend a few hundred dollars, we were not important enough to get an appointment. Apparently working class people who want to invest in coins are not welcome here. You should always shop your stuff in this kind of market a few places before deciding. That said, I have made 5 or 6 sales to these guys, and they have given me the highest offer every single time. They also will test any kind of bullion items you want to sell right in front of you for free, a lot of places try to charge you and also offer a lower up front estimate. Everybody has an opinion with these sort of businesses, and you have a right to be skeptical of most of them. I can only report my personal experiences. This place on literally every item I've tried to sell has given me the best offer on every single one and I personally consider them trustworthy. As I said, you can (and should) shop around when trying to sell the sort of items a place like this is interested in, but I advise them being a stop on your list. Ymmv apparently from other reviews, but I considered Charlie honest and I can certainly give some names at other places that weren't. read more

Wonderful couple and a wonderful business! Very informative as to coin collecting and stacking precious metals. Brought in a small ziploc of scrap gold yesterday for appraisal and sale hoping to get a little something for stuff that's been sitting in jewelry boxes for years now. The owner x-rayed all the items, weighted them appropriately and researched in depth the spot prices for scrap gold at day's current trading prices. Blew my socks off when he told me the price of it all and happily purchased it from me. Thank You again! This is a very honest business run by knowledgeable and honest people. I am in the market for a high grade Liberty Double Eagle and an 1807 'Comet Variety' Large Cent for a Type Set that I am now putting together. Going to look else where. Visited this coin shop three times this month and received outstanding service on each occasion.

I got a response from this business after a month. He knew my wife was bringing coins in for appraisal and ALSO KNEW they're was a separate bag of coins NOT to be sold appraisal only. I had talked to the owner about this and he acknowledged that fact. But none the less he ended up "buying" them anyway. When my wife came home ( within an HOUR after he bought all the coins, I called he back wanting to get coins back that were sold and he KNEW they weren't to be sold. He refused let me get the coins back!!!! We hadn't cashed or deposited his check. What a way to treat your customers. I think of how he treated us every day and wonder how he sleeps at night, especially since he is such an honest business owner. This makes me physically sick thinking of how he took advantage of her and he knows he did. You should avoid this place at all costs, it cost me dearly. Go to a pawn shop they would treat you far BETTER. I give it 1 star because you can't give 0 stars. SHAME ON YOU. read more
