David is very bright, fair, calm, competent, good at communication and patient. He has been very honest upfront about the role as a mediator to be representative for two parties and his expectations of clients to minimize the emotional stress during the meeting, which is fair and understandable as this is a legal work and we should be respectful. During the process, we had issues about child custody and needed to work with a therapist first before continuing our sessions with David. He waited for us patiently and never pushed us. I highly recommend David, if you absolutely have to go through divorce.

Update: I received…read moreMarizen's private message and her request to edit or remove my review--this request was notably left off her public comment as noted in the screenshot attached. Since the 2 stars (which equates to the "[service] could've been better") were due to the unprofessionalism and inattentiveness shown (not due to her being an LDA), I have no reason to change my rating or delete my review. TL;DR: Marizen is NOT a lawyer. She is a Legal Document Assistant that cannot provide you with legal advice. She is a significantly affordable option for a Living Trust but she is unprofessional and has poor attention to detail-- key characteristics that are paramount to detailing an important document. Details: I left a Living Trust inquiry via her site and Marizen emailed me back within 1 day to "text" her back for a scheduled over-the-phone consult. Upon speaking with Marizen it was clear she did not take the time to review the few questions I had sent her in my initial inquiry as she was confused as to what the consult would primarily be regarding. Her rates were significantly less than what other competing services were offering which raised an orange flag for me. Upon further research, I realized Marizen was NOT a lawyer, but rather a "Legal Document Assistant (LDA)." According to the CA Attorney General, LDAs cannot give legal advice. This was my first encounter with an LDA, which allowed me the opportunity to do the necessary research to make a more educated investment. Had Marizen gotten back to me with the necessary next steps and questionnaire as she had promised (it's been over 1.5 weeks), I may have considered her as a possible option to complete my Living Trust needs. But if you are looking for a more affordable option, perhaps Marizen is a good fit for you.

I retained Elaine to represent me in a complex and protracted divorce matter involving spousal…read moresupport, child support, the division of real estate, and the separation of retirement accounts and pensions. Throughout the entire process, Elaine demonstrated exceptional legal skill, professionalism, and diligence. From the outset, the case was challenging due to an opposing party who was unwilling to negotiate and an imbalance in perceived influence and connections. Elaine immediately provided a sense of confidence and security, ensuring that I felt protected and fully represented at every stage. Her advice was consistently sound, practical, and direct, allowing me to make informed decisions during an extremely stressful period. Elaine's preparation and attention to detail were exemplary. She demonstrated complete command of every aspect of my case, and nothing was ever overlooked. She was consistently responsive, communicative, and thorough. One of her greatest strengths was her ability to assemble and manage a highly skilled team of financial experts and analysts. Through her leadership, our legal positions were supported by extensive documentation, detailed financial data, and clear evidentiary proof. As a result, whether in negotiations or in court, our case was always presented from a position of strength and credibility. Over the many years this matter was litigated, Elaine's preparation and advocacy were unmatched. She achieved consistently favorable outcomes and did not suffer a single loss. Her experience and strategic approach were evident at every stage of the proceedings. Divorce is an inherently difficult and emotional process, and this case represented one of the lowest points in my life. Elaine combined strength, professionalism, and genuine care, which made an immeasurable difference. Contrary to the common belief that no one is satisfied at the conclusion of a divorce, I was pleased with the outcome and relieved knowing that my interests had been fully protected. I could not have navigated this process without Elaine's guidance and advocacy. She is highly experienced, deeply respected, and an exceptional attorney. I recommend her without reservation to anyone seeking skilled and steadfast representation.

I found him to be very friendly, easy to communicate with, knowledgeable, and very collaborative. Although my Trust was somewhat complex, he answered all of my questions as we pieced the documents together, working as a team. Today I went to meet with Jonathan and a Notary for signing all of the documents. I am very pleased with how all of them turned out. Jonathan is not trying to be some "big shot" expensive attorney in a tall building, but rather a neighborhood attorney there to serve people with a reasonable fee. I can highly recommend Jonathan at Nightingale Legal to anyone looking to create a Trust.

Due to my daughter's highly difficult and manipulative father, I was faced with the overwhelming task of having to involve the courts in the custody arrangements. What made things even more challenging, was that my new husband and I were given military orders to relocate to Southern California. This in turn prompted my ex to attempt to stop this from happening and demanding full custody of our daughter. After meeting Jonathan, I immediately felt at ease. Extremely knowledgeable, highly professional and emitting a calm yet confident energy, Jonathan was just what I needed dealing with a highly emotional case such as mine. Jonathan kept me posted and well informed throughout the initial filing, compiling all relevant paperwork and breaking down the process in an easy to understand manner. He took care of submitting all necessary paperwork and handling all unsuspected curve balls thrown by the respondent my ex, and his attorney during this process. After my ex was served with papers and a court date scheduled, he attempted to counter with an emergency order to try and gain full custody & stop me leaving the county. Thanks to Jonathan, his requests were denied and weighted heavily in my favor. Jonathan was very supportive during my times of emotional weakness and always able to provide me with solutions to my worries. I always felt a great deal better after communicating with him about what was happening and what possibilities lie ahead. Unable to come to a resolution with my ex through court ordered mediation, (attorneys not present during the meeting) Jonathan accompanied me to court to hash out the details in front of a judge. Jonathan's calm, confident presentation to the judge and highly intelligent responses to the opposing attorney granted us the opportunity to step out side and negotiate most of the terms recommended by the mediator with one of the most difficult people I have ever come across (my ex). This in its own was a win, if it was up to just my ex and I or even my ex and his attorney, I am confident this wouldn't have been the outcome. Even when there were a couple of protests last minute that the respondent failed to bring up during the negotiation moments before, Jonathan was able to handle the objections in a manner that delivered the fair results I was hoping for and the most beneficial outcome for our daughter. I was granted full Physical Custody, shared Legal Custody with a visitation schedule for her father that suited best the needs of my daughter and in the well being of my family. Hiring Jonathan Nightingale was a huge game changer for me in the legal process. For that reason and more, I will continue to do business with him and to have him represent me in all future matters, not just for Family Law but also with any business and estate planning matters that will likely arise in future. Thank you Jonathan! Monica R.
