Admire and proud that Chapman university is in our county
    Candice K.

I am commenting only on the campus. I walk through the campus sometimes with my dog. I love it because of the historical buildings, and there are quotes and memorials throughout the campus that reflect high educational, and the human spirit to thrive. There are 2 that I stop and reflect upon each time. 1. A piece of the Berlin Wall is here on Campus! "Yes, across Europe, this wall will fall, for it cannot withstand faith. It cannot withstand truth. The wall cannot withstand freedom. Open this gate, Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall." Pres. Ronald Reagan Nov 1989 Near the wall it says "A house divided cannot stand" Makes me choke up everytime. What a proud moment for the World. 2. The memorial to Charles C. Chapman at the front entrance. The quote says: "I liken life before you . . . to that of a ship with its prow pointed toward the great ocean as it leaves the harbor for the distant shore. Storms may come, and they will for no ship ever sailed the seas but had to face the storm. If it is strong from keel to top, bow to stern, well maintained and intelligently directed, it rides the storm and goes on it's way. So you will meet obstacles, storms. If you are strong in faith, clear headed, honest, trusting for divine guidance and with a character built on the solid rock, you will meet all troubles in your life victoriously." (quoted by Charles C. Chapman). This is a beautiful campus to visit even if you are not a student.

I'm currently taking classes at Chapman University and I really like the campus. It's a beautiful campus with greenery and flowers everywhere. There's the most beautiful fountain right in the center of campus. It's not a huge campus so there is an intimacy you don't get on a college campus. It's a walking campus so everything is in walking distance. I haven't been in the library yet but it looks up to date with the latest in technology. There are plenty of places to get a bite to eat including Starbucks in Beckman Hall. So far I'm truly enjoying my classes. The professors are top notched. There's ample parking and the university is nestled in a quiet, residential neighborhood. I commute to this campus but I do believe there is on campus housing. Chapman University is a church related college: The Disciples of Christ and The United Church of Christ are the churches that are affiliated with the university. The school does have an interfaith chapel on campus so all religious faiths are welcomed. It is a private university so the tuition is steep. However, financial aid is available.

I'm a law student, so my knowledge of the undergrad campus is probably somewhat limited. Anyway, here goes nothing. The law school. We've all heard the horror stories about the workload, professors, competition, etc. I'm currently in my second year and truly have enjoyed my experience thus far. The professors are engaging, passionate, and nothing like Professor Kingsfield in "The Paper Chase". My fellow classmates, for the most part, are sociable and down to earth. The workload has been challenging, but definitely manageable with some proper time management. The campus. Coming from UCI, I was surprised to find out how small Chapman actually is. But that's totally alright! Easier to get around. The campus is beautiful and very well-kept. You'll be hard pressed to find trash on the ground. The buildings are new and Memorial Hall even looks like the White House. The gym. I guess it's proportionate to the campus sized? It's a bit small in my opinion, but has most the machines/weights that one would need for an efficient workout. It never really gets crowded, so that's definitely a positive. My only complaints are the weird hours of operation and the "shirts must have sleeves" policy. The food. Pretty decent. There's a coffee/sandwich shop next to the business school. There's a a Jamba Juice, bagel shop, and other places to grab a bite in the student center. The food isn't gourmet and is a bit overpriced, but nothing too unreasonable. Parking. Awful this year! There's some construction going on, so finding a parking spot is a rarity. I really want my $300 back. That's it for now. More to come later, maybe.

I was invited to 3 graduations here this summer. The people who invited me ALL have jobs lined up, fresh off the "walk", some overseas. This place is beautiful, modern and comes with very supportive staff. Downtown Orange is a hip happening place to hangout when not on campus, great restaurants and unique shops. I'm taking graduate courses here currently but also one of my family members just graduated with a Master's degree. The programs they offer are very nice. The bad: parking is limited even if you have a pass. We were late for one of the ceremonies and had to park way downtown and walk. You will get a ticket if you don't have a pass and if lots are full your pass won't help. So get here early. Don't park on the street, you need a permit. I don't see much of a party life at this school and I'm impressed with that, too. There's a diversity of students so I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about. My friends here are all types. It's expensive but all colleges are expensive these days. Only complaint, the commencement speeches are so boring I went to the Dean afterward and asked if I could get three extra credits just for attending, lol! You can always do what I did and skip out, go shopping downtown and slip back into your seat, lol.

I switched from SCC to another school in another state, I'm working on my 225s now and just got hired full time at a reporting agency (only took me 6 months). I attribute my success to my new school that taught me to right SHORT and brief on the fly. Who knows how much longer I'd be in school if I stayed here. The fact that it takes so much dedication to even reach 200, and then this school will fail you for stupid punctuation errors that don't even matter in the real world is insane. Just a heads up for any frustrated students - there's other ways to become a working reporter than graduating from SCC

The only review you need - June 2023…read more After reading the reviews (most of the bad ones are really old) I felt compelled to offer my review having just completed my Bachelors degree this week. Though CCU is not your traditional college, it definitely has its place in further education. It is super convenient for someone like me who works full-time+, on top of having a two kid family. I was referred to CCU by a former student because I had limited time to complete my degree for an upcoming LT promotional opportunity and their self-paced program was perfect for me. The price was very reasonable too. If you're like me, 25 years into your career and just need that BA/BS degree to promote, this is your best choice. Education Like I said, the timing and class structure are convenient, but it is by no means easy. You still have to read, pay attention, write a lot, and pass the exams. I'm a good writer for the most part, but I did have a couple of papers failed/kicked back because I rushed through them (the feedback from the professor was spot on). So, no you can't just submit anything and pass. It's open book, but still challenging. I actually learned quite a bit at my old age! Staff 5 star staff, you won't convince me otherwise. Debbie during the admissions process, and Taylor my student advisor during my coursework, were outstanding. Communicated often, answered promptly, and were just nice helpful people all around. They didn't just be nice to get me to sign for the money part then leave me out to dry. In fact, the promotional opportunity I talked about came unexpected early, and I needed an unlikely miracle favor. Taylor and each one of my professors were EXTREMELY quick and helpful, and made sure my miracle came true. I have nothing but outstanding things to say about CCU. It opened up a life-changing door for me. I Just bought me a couple T-shirts and a sweatshirt from prep sportswear, that's how proud I am of them!
