Well done Chandon! It had been 10 years since I last visited Chandon, partly because I live in…read moreSonoma county and prefer to taste in Sonoma county as past experiences in Napa have left me feeling underwhelmed for the price point. On this most recent experience, I was invited to attend with 2 friends who are both wine club members and I have to say, I was watching how others were hosted as we were all seated at tables with our parties fairly close to one another and I have to say, the experiences were similar in style, with a bit more TLC for the wine club member experience, but all in all, if I need another membership, this is one I'd consider as I love Sparkling wine and the service was not pretentious or rushed in any way. I felt very comfortable and the vibes were all positive. The selection of flights were great and a reasonable price point. If I had friends who were visiting and wanted a Napa County experience, this is one I would definitely recommend. They have updated their tasting spaces and have so many different areas that even on a busy day, it doesn't feel crowded or overwhelming.

The price tag versus what you get is off - our wine host didnt bother to pour us anything when we sat down (it took around 15 mins to get a glass of wine) - once we did get wine, it was off to the races. The wine is great, but is clear that Chandon is more interested in their club membership than the experience. The second we finished our tasting experience, the entire thing shifted from "taste our wine" to "buy into our wine club". It was a sudden, very jarring change. I have had better experiences with pushy time share sellers than Chandon salespeople. At least with them, I get a gift card, park tickets or a hotel stay. I got. Nothing from Chandon. Chamdon will always be my favorite wine, but for a sparkling experience, I am going to find another winery to visit or go attend a timeshare presentation where at least I get something for sitting through the annoying sales presentation.

The award for best array of wines ever offered at a tasting goes to The Yount Room…read more Let me clarify: this is an award I've created, in my own head. I like wine (reds, specifically) and those featured here were the most aromatic and enjoyable lot I've ever sampled. Having been a one-time member of Conn Creek I received an invitation to a (complimentary) tasting here, as they morphed from Cornerstone Cellars into The Yount Room. The Yount Room features Cornerstone wines but also the wines of others lacking tasting rooms, including some like Conn Creek, whose tasting room was lost in the fires. Situated in Yountville's historic old railway station, the interior space is a stylish hybrid tasting room/retail space. A record player and a stack of vinyl called out and host exemplar, Sean, was agreeable to spinning whatever we (the sole customers at the time) requested. Stones hits played to a Bossa Nova beat and Memphis lilts from Dusty Springfield made the visit quite perfect but without such perfect wines it'd be a lot less so. The Yount Room does tastings as well as wines by the glass and I can't wait to return for the latter. I don't know what's on their "by the glass" list but if it's anything like what was served at the tasting* it'd be impossible to go astray. * Tasting included: - Hibou, 2024 Sauvignon Blanc, Winemaker: Keith Emerson - Status Quo, 2024 Pinot Noir, Winemaker: Adam Lee - Cornerstone, 2021 Cabernet Franc, Winemaker: Kari Arranger - Cain, 2021 Cain Fire, Winemaker: Chris Howell - Conn Creek, 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon, Winemaker: Jean Hoeflinger

I highly recommend adding the butter and cheese tasting to your experience, it's some of the best butter you'll ever eat. Our servers both times were really friendly and sat with us most of the time, laughing and joking around with us. I also really love the seating because it feels like you're just sitting at home, with friends, enjoying amazing wines. The prices are pretty high on most of their wines but they are worth it! I'm so thankful our friends introduced us to Handwritten, it's one of our favorite tasting rooms now. Definitely add it to your list if you're going to be visiting Yountville.

Right when we walked in we felt welcomed. The place, decorated elegantly and intimate with both indoor and outdoor seating. Our table was all set up with a beautiful custom handwritten "Welcoming" specific to our party with a wax seal... nice touch! We ordered the Bread and Butter Experience which included 4 wines, white truffle potato chips, Cheese Straws Bouchon Bakery baguette, three artisan domestic butters, Salame, and Cheese and of course the wonderful hospitality from Amy. I would definitely come back when in Yountville. Atmosphere: elegant and intimate. Service: excellent. Food & Wine: excellent.

My first wine club membership and I couldn't be happier!…read more Aside from the awesome perks I get from being a member, this winery is a must try when in Yountville. Pros: Scenic landscape with ample views and photo opportunities Dog friendly Knowledgeable staff that go above and beyond Generous pours Family owned and it feels like it - they have limited tables and this really shows as they prioritize quality over quantity Among many other pros , there is only one "potential con" and that is that they don't serve food here so just make sure u don't come hungry .

But, boujee doesn't have to be 24/7. Casual is relaxing, and Goosecross is the perfect place for a fun and relaxing tasting experience in Yountville. I came here with a large group of ladies and we really enjoyed ourselves. Antoine was our host and we had so much fun with him! He kept us on our toes during our entire tasting. He made us laugh, told us interesting stories, and also explained each wine that we were tasting. I wouldn't say that our group was rowdy.... but we were drankin'. And you know what happens when the gals be drinkin'! Mm hmm... we got a bit excited and little loud. However, Antoine handled our large party well and we so appreciated him for it. Speaking of rowdy; this is definitely a tasting room with a youthful glow. There aren't crazy drunks and it's not super loud, but it seems like this is where the larger groups like to hang out and truly have a kick back time. It's just fun! It's a fun time. Their patio is all the rave. There were several other large parties tasting out on the patio as well that day. Their indoor tasting room is really cute. There's a smallish tasting bar inside, but the patio area is nestled amongst their lovely vineyards. The photo opportunities are endless, and Antoine was nice enough to snap some photos of us during our visit. When it comes to the wines, I definitely enjoyed their white wines more than their reds. I loved their Gewurtztraminer and their Sauvignon Blanc was tasty too. The red wines that we tasted were just okay. Even their $150 Cab Sauv tasted a bit young, but just my personal opinion. My group and I really had a blast tasting here. I will definitely come back for a future tasting when I'm back in Yountville.
