I don't know if I can express the level of disappointment I feel about the procedure I had done and revised at Changes. I took advantage of one of the monthly offers and it was for a mini-lipo session that ran around $1600. The consult was shocking because I saw the PA and not Dr Lee. I figured that Dr Lee and Changes had such a great reputation and standing in the San Diego medical community that it would probably be perfect. No complications during procedure but the first two weeks post-op were much more difficult than discussed. The final result over six months later was awful. There was TOO much fat sucked out and there were huge dips and pockets in the areas on both sides of my hips. After completing a survey that was emailed to me and giving my honest opinion I was then offered a revision surgery of fat grafting where they would move some fat from a different area and gently fan it in to fill in the gaps and even it out. I agreed because I literally felt ten time worse and far less attractive than I did before I even walked into that place! Dr Lee was at the consult and agreed with the correction (along with other things apparently), marking my legs and viewing pictures. Once again at the procedure it was just the PA, who divulged that her previous experience was in cardiology at a children's hospital! The correction was a little longer than expected and again you have to wait for bruising and swelling to go down. When it all went down the biggest dip on my left outer thigh filled in a little but was like a welt in the center, and still is. The distortion of the left leg is so bothersome to me I am ashamed to be naked in front of my husband. It's awful. I used to feel like my butt and thighs were big but I likes the shape, now my butt is square and if I am not standing straight up, like leaning forward, kneeling down, anything besides straight up my outer thigh and side butt is obviously distorted, misshapen and has had obvious work...gone bad. It sucks to feel this self conscious about it. It sucks to have wasted $1800 total to look jacked up. It sucks to have FINALLY done something for myself after caring for my daughter with cancer for so long to only make me feel worse. Think twice before you go. read more

I interviewed 4 plastic surgeons before finally settling on Dr. Lee at Changes and while all but one of the places I interviewed were good, Dr. Lee won me over in the evaluation appointment. What won me over was his "vision" for what I could look like after surgery. Not just did he have a vision, but he was able to articulate that vision to me in a way that I was able to see it also. That initial experience gave me a confidence in his work that I did not get from the other plastic surgeons with whom I met. Leading up to my surgery and the day of surgery were flawless in that I felt well informed about what was going to happen and what to expect after surgery (more on this later). Everyone in the office was super friendly, able to answer my questions, and comforting about my concern over having surgery. Even the day of everyone was friendly and even joked with me as a way to help calm my nerves. I am immensely happy with the result of the procedure as well. The scars are minimal, there is virtually no lumpiness (a concern of mine before surgery), and it doesn't look to me or friends who have seen me shirtless like I had surgery at all. I finally feel like the person on the outside that I always believed I was on the inside. I have only one complaint about Dr. Lee and the staff in the office and that is about the expectation they set for my recovery period. I told Dr. Lee and his assistant that it was my plan to return to work on Monday after my Friday surgery date. No one expressed any concern that that wouldn't be ok. I was in so much pain, and discomfort, that I wasn't able to return to work until Thursday after my surgery and then could only stay at work 1/2 a day because of how bad the pain was. I understand that everyone is different in their experience of pain, but I would like to see them prepare people more for what COULD happen after surgery. In fairness, I suppose it is possible that some people would not go through with the surgery if they knew how bad the recovery could be, but I rushed my attempt to return to work and didn't inform my employer that I would possibly have to miss a week of work because I had an unrealistic expectation that wasn't contradicted by Dr. Lee or his staff. I conveyed this information directly to Dr. Lee and his staff and they were apologetic and understanding at the time. If I decided to do plastic surgery again, I would absolutely go to Dr. Lee at Changes and I think that the higher price than other plastic surgeons with whom I met is fully justified. read more

I went in for Dysport (Botox) and the experience was fantastic. Katie took her time and explained everything to me. She went over all of the options with me. She took her time and the injections were painless. This was over two weeks ago and I am so happy with the results! I will definitely be back to see Katie. I was interested in geting Sculptra so I attended a seminar at the Changes Plastic Surgery office. After listening to the Sculptra rep, I spoke with Stephanie, one of the RNs in the office. There was a discount for buying multiple bottles of Sculptra and an added discount if it was injected by one of the RNs as opposed to Dr. Lee. I've had Botox and Juvederm injected by an RN before at another office, so I was completely okay with not having the doctor do it. Stephanie sounded very knowledgable and answered all of my questions in great detail, so I made an appointment. I was most concerned with the loss of volume in my temple area. I'd had Juvederm injected into these areas before (by a doctor) but because the skin is so thin there, it came out somewhat lumpy. After researching Sculptra, I thought it would be a better choice. At my appontiment, Stephanie did a great job of doing several nerve block before the actual injections, so I felt very little discomfort. I was expecting the usual bruising that I've experienced in the past with filler injections, but Stephanie was able to inject without causing ANY bruising! If I have any complaints, it's only that the Sculptra didn't fill in as much as I would have liked. I had to buy 2 additional bottles. Stephanie tried to make each bottle go as far as it could because there was also hollowness in my cheeks and I agreed with injecting there, too...so if I do it again, I'd probably focus on just one area to get the result faster, because Sculptra is not inexpensive. But in my opinion, for the temple area it is the best because the filling out is subtle and pretty even. I was very happy with my experience and would return to Stephanie and the Changes office again. read more

I couldn't have had a better experience here, I mean that literally. I don't think it would have been possible. My schedule is hectic and they were extremely patient and helpful over the phone when it came to scheduling and answering questions. That's where it began, absolute professionalism over the phone, which was refreshing because so many places lack that. I'm constantly asking myself, in so many other instances, whether it be dealing with a doctor's office, a financial institution, insurance, my cable provider, whatever... why oh why would they put this person in reception? So, it was very nice to have someone who spoke articulately and clearly on the other end of the line, as if that is too much to ask, but apparently these days it can be. But more than that, someone who was very friendly, even a bit funny, to be honest, and prompt, so prompt and efficient. I worked a lot with Jill over the phone and by email before I could even nail down a date, because as I mentioned, my schedule is incredibly difficult to work around. I work a lot and am seldom available. Huge points Jill, for her patience and good humor where most other people would probably just had become frustrated. The doc even squeezed me in to accommodate. Anyway, fast forward. I get there, finally, on the day of surgery. Of course I was nervous, its natural. But the rest of the staff was exactly the same as what I've just described. There's definitely a theme in this place, that theme being excellent customer service. Reception? Perfect. The sweetest girl possible greeted me, handled paperwork and took some necessary photos. We chatted about a few things throughout this process and she couldn't have been more pleasant. A few chuckles and some pleasant banter later and the nurse came out to get me. Again, more of the same. Extremely nice. And in a very genuine way, I want to add. I know when someone is being phony as hell, I'm from New York City, and over there, you get some necessary training in developing a bullshit detector. These are all genuinely nice people, trust me, I'm an expert lol. Then comes Doctor Lee, moment of truth right? We all know how doctors can be. Dismissive and curt and generally unpleasant to deal with at times. Not to generalize, but who hasn't had a doc or ten they just suffered to deal with out of necessity? He's awesome. Here's a guy who is staying late for me, squeezing me in, remember. I'm pretty sure they were technically closed at this point, actually. If not, close to it. Never once did I feel rushed. Patient, friendly, funny, just extremely nice. He answered every question, talked me through it, made it very easy. I needed scar tissue on the bridge of my nose revised surgically. He gave me a local that I barely felt and did the procedure, and I didn't feel a damn thing. Couldn't ask for more than that. Checking out, I met my last staff member of the visit. Her and the nurse gave me some final instructions, just to be thorough, even though the doc had done a great job of it already. This last woman was hilarious. Seemed like the kind of person who, if they were a family member, everyone at Thanksgiving would get happy when she arrived and be like "Oh, so and so is here! Now we can have a good time". I joked a bit with her and the super nice nurse a bit, got my little aftercare instructional folder and was off. I go back soon to get some sutures removed and I'm sure it will be an easy and pleasant experience as well. It's extremely recent, only yesterday, but I can already see what the doctor did and am extremely happy with the result. I talked to some other doctors before deciding on Doctor Lee and it was a bunch of nonsense that showed only their ineptitude and lack of confidence. It's a difficult area to work with, you may want to try laser, this and that. Unfortunately, I did have some laser work done and it was a waste of time and money that I can't get back. I wish I would have come here first, but oh well. The laser was a waste because it was a lot of pain and waiting to heal between sessions and money for something that was not showing results and they said the whole time would never make it look a hundred percent. Doctor Lee was like... Yup, I know what to do, then he did it, and it was done. And it was literally about 1 percent the pain of a laser session. And I can tell already that it's gonna look good. I have some limited experience with wounds and healing and such from my own profession, enough to know this is good, clean work that will heal well. Can't recommend these guys highly enough. I hope I never have need of a surgeon again, of course, but in the event that I do, yeah, I know exactly where I'm going. read more

I love how Jodi and Dr Lee keep me looking so young! No one believes my age when I tell them. I have had the Harmony & Titan lasers with incredible results. Topped with just a little dysport and fillers and it has shaved of 10-15 years off my appearance and it looks natural not fake! I would recommend Jodi (RN) who does the procedures on me to anyone. I am a huge fan of Dr Reagan! In February of 2016 I had my first rhinoplasty with another surgeon at another office in La Jolla that turned out quite horribly - I had a crooked bridge and a droopy tip (which I didn't have before). This surgeon agreed that he needed to fix what he had done, and he performed revision rhinoplasty on me in November of 2016. Needless to say the tip did not improve (it may have gotten even droopier), and the bridge of my nose was straighter, but now had an indentation on one side. I was so disappointed and thought I had no other options. I had a few doctors say nothing more could be done because of the amount of grafting done in the two surgeries. I finally went to see Dr Reagan (which I should have done in the first place). I was on the verge of tears when I first met with him, but he immediately looked at my photos and said "I can fix it." I cried with joy! Three months later he performed the surgery and I couldn't be happier. He had to take some cartilage from behind my ear and completely reconstruct my nose but he made it BEAUTIFUL! His office, his team, the surgery center - everything was fantastic. I will also use him for fillers and botox and anything else I need in the future. read more

Disappointed. When you charge for a consultation you should at least be able to apply that towards any of their procedures even a facial or botox, etc. I arrived 45 mins early to fill out paperwork on time and was still called back late. During my consult, so much time was wasted by the staff trying to figure out how to use the 3D system properly!!! While they did that I figured no problem I can discuss my issues with the doc in the meantime........NOPE! He walked out and waited to come back until they were done! Wouldn't make a big deal but in this case time WAS money, literally! I explained to Dr. Lee that I had several issues about body and face that I wanted to discuss and get quotes for..........my purpose for being there right??? To get a quote for my concerns that way I CAN decide which procedure I would rather go with first!!!! He dismissed my concerns and said not necessary unless I had endless amounts of money!!! How rude and condescending in my opinion! I got a quote for body concerns.............even though I told him SEVERAL times that my face was #1concern! I thanked him for his time and politely left even though I was upset and unhappy with my experience. A few days later I got bombarded with emails from them asking for a review. I rarely write reviews especially if they are not positive but I felt it was necessary. When i filled out the review and specified that i DID want to be contacted by his staff regarding my experience I all of a sudden stopped receiving their emails!!! BOOOOOO to you! I have yet to hear back from them and its been almost a month! I obviously will not be going back and will be taking my $30K surgery elsewhere!! AKA my endless amount of money!!!!! read more

I have nothing to say except positive remarks about Dr Gilbert Lee and his team. I recently had bilateral blephoroplasty, a lower face lift and peri-oral dermabrasion. Dr Lee takes time to explain the different options that would give the best results when combined. You can break them down into smaller steps to make budgeting easier. He was spot on with his suggestions and I now have the face and neck of years ago. My main concern was coming out looking like Joan Rivers or even a milder version of someone you look at and say...wow she had a facelift, sure can tell!! His work is done so that it does not change or alter what you look like, just shaves years off and takes you back to how you looked before iverything started falling. Now I look happier, have more self confidence and look well rested even when I am tired:-) Both procedures were done under local anesthetics which kept the cost down and made recovery quick. I no longer have bags, droopy eyes, wrinkled lip lines and a sagging turkey neck. The truth is in how others see you....since I posted my new face on a dating web site my responses from potential suitors has at least tripled!! I went to Changes Plastic Surgery to have breast implants removed. Dr. Lee is a good doctor, but I had problems with their CASH CASH CASH mentality. I spent an hour being consulted by Melanie on why it is better to pay cash and then submit the claim to insurance; she assured me I would come out ahead financially by doing this. For four months after surgery they neglected to even file my claim, which I discovered by calling my insurer to check status. Dr. Lee's office filed the claim after I called back, but didn't provide the information that showed that the procedure was medically necessary, so at month 5 my claim was rejected by the insurer. At that point I called Dr. Lee again and was assured that he would correct this by providing supplementary information. It's now 6 months later and I learned from the insurer that no further information was provided. I called the doctor's office back today and they now tell me that all necessary information was originally provided, despite the fact that the insurer doesn't have it on file. If you do have surgery here, make sure to check with your insurer before you believe ANYTHING Melanie tells you about being reimbursed, she paints a very pretty picture. read more
