First - this is the cafe/restaurant that is inside the Yal Ku snorkel park. In order to eat here you will need to pay at a minimum the entrance fee to the park which is around $15 at the time of our visit.
However, if you are staying at the villas Casa Romero, entrance to the park and access to the restaurant is free.
Second, the prices are outstanding. For a plate of huevos rancheros at another restaurant, Morningstar, which is right up the street, cost $244 pesos per plate. Here, $99.00. Less than half for a nicer, fuller plate of food.
The chef, Salvador, is super friendly and loves his job. So far we have had several meals here including huevos rancheros, his omelet, scrambled eggs, fruit plate, fries & aguachile de camarón. Everything we have had has been excellent, especially in comparison with the surrounding restaurants and cafes available.
The cafe is basically an open air garden patio with a view of the lagoon. The hours are from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm with last orders for food at 3:30 pm. We were definitely surprised by the quality of food and service we got here. Typically in a park like this they are trying to gouge you for every last dime you have, so this was a very pleasant surprise. read more
