Our 7 year old daughter was refused entry to get on the bus for after school care and left alone at the school. There is no situation where this is acceptable without even attempting to notify the parents. The details We were informed on the evening of October 7, 2022 that our CC payment did not go through for the month. (an error on the part of the staff who recorded the number incorrectly, not due to insufficient funds) This was the Friday evening of a long weekend. I mentioned that it was my wife's card and that i would contact them once i got home and had spoke with her. Nothing was mentioned at this time that she would be refused entry to the bus the next day if we did not pay immediately. By the time my wife arrived home it was after 8pm and we planned instead to settle the matter on the following Tuesday (next business day) Unfortunately, we were not given even 24 business hours from being notified before the following occurred. We received no notice from Legacy TaeKwonDo that our daughter would be refused entry to the bus before being called by the school the following evening Tuesday October 11, 2022, who let us know she was left their, and more specifically, the school let us know that Legacy TaeKwonDo told them it was due to non payment of our bills, which I'm pretty sure is a breach of information. When approached to discuss the matter later that day the owner had no remorse for the situation and felt they were just in their actions of reckless abandonment of a minor to retrieve payment. They mentioned that it was not their responsibility to reach out and call in advance or try to chase down payments. Anyone who puts the welfare of a child second to collecting a bill that essentially was less than 24 hours past due from time of notification should not be entrusted with such responsibility. We tried to look past the unfinished conditions, tile floors not finished, no doors on change rooms, and overcrowded playroom with more than 30 kids at a time, and give it a chance, but we simply can not excuse this and feel compelled to share our experience with others.
