Texas Health School truly deserves a 5-star rating for its exceptional LVN program. The instructors…read moreare highly knowledgeable and genuinely invested in student success. Their teaching methods are engaging, clear, and tailored to support every type of learner--whether you learn best visually, hands-on, or through detailed explanations. One of the biggest strengths of this program is the access to premium nursing education resources, including both ATI Nursing Education and Evolve by Elsevier. These tools provide industry-leading NCLEX preparation, in-depth study materials, and realistic practice assessments that build strong clinical judgment. ATI offers adaptive learning systems and test-taking strategies, while Evolve delivers trusted nursing content, case studies, and interactive resources from Elsevier. Together, they ensure students are thoroughly prepared for coursework, clinicals, and the NCLEX. The school also provides a professional learning environment with modern classrooms and fully equipped simulation labs that give students valuable hands-on experience before transitioning into real clinical settings. If you're serious about becoming a nurse and want a program that combines quality instruction, proven resources, and strong support, Texas Health School is an excellent choice. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to build a successful nursing career.

Then they made the update on their website on 7/9/2025. Probably to avoid a lawsuit; because I did go down that route & I have receipts. I was also told by one of their unprofessional staff out of the blue- "you know, they are coming for the Haitians." Now, what self-respected school official would say something so uncouth to someone? I guess what she really meant was the "blacks" just totally out the blue.. SMH! I won't put her on blast, I will just let her stew in this & hope she doesn't say it to anyone else for the schools sake!

They contacted the VA. And got the ball rolling and assisted me with my pellet grant, if I had money coming to me, I didn't have to press them. It was automatic. I was required to get an approval from my doctor for them to clean my teeth and they faxed a form to my doctor. The problem occured when I followed up (Pima didnt bother to contact me) with my doctor and said they received and returned. I called Pima and was told the form they received was not signed by my doctor. They said they would send another. I called my doctor who said they did not undertand how Pima could say doctor didn't sign. They received the form again, but Pima fax number was not on form. They attempted to contact Pima repeatedly, but did not receive a call back. I called Pima several times myself and did not receive a call back. So, all I can say is Buyer Beware when it comes to being a patient with Pima Dental Program in Houston, TX.

Financial aid covered my courses, and I worked hard to make the Dean's list each semester. LSC screwed up and accidentally dropped me from a class. I tried numerous times to get the issue resolved so my financial aid would not be affected, and continued to attend the class every day. My advisor was never available, and by the time I was added back to the class, it was the end of the semester. Due to their screw up, I did not meet the attendance requirement to claim my financial aid, and the funds were retracted. Now LSC is charging me, even though I had nearly 10k of grants to cover my tuition. Now I am unable to continue my education. I have called the billing office numerous times and they hang up on me. LSC, thank you for ruining my life and my children's future. Reader, Please save yourself the trouble.

From day one, I felt abandoned and left to figure things out entirely on my own. The staff and teachers simply do not do their jobs, failing to provide any meaningful assistance or support to students. The expectation here is that you handle everything by yourself, which is incredibly frustrating and not conducive to learning. I've learned next to nothing during my time at Fortis Institute because the teachers do not engage or assist in any meaningful way. I cannot emphasize enough how disappointed I am with this school. I would never recommend Fortis Institute to anyone. Save your time and money and look for a better institution that actually cares about its students' education and success.

Very unfair and inconsiderate when it comes to students. She's been here for years so I assume my complaints won't be acknowledged, I'm sure I am not the first person to complain about her. Fortis need to do better and hire people who care about their students and aren't using their position unethically. She has made me very discouraged, and I am considering dropping out and finding another school. I haven't had any other problems with any other instructors other than her. My whole class complains amongst ourselves but no one wants to complain to the school. But I do not care, I took a loan out and I'm not getting the education I'm paying for. She doesn't follow the lesson plans that are in our modules, so we are unprepared for assignments. I think I'm going to have to drop out and go to another school because this woman is on a power trip.

After graduating, I can finally review my experience here as a whole. The professors (and friends)…read moredefinitely make the experience. Dr. Lyons, Dr. Eloi, Dr. Hanneman, Dr. Ownby, the list goes on of professors who are there for you and your success. These professors have gone through so much to help us succeed. Some students have been so disrespectful towards them when the students themselves fail. If you come to them with concerns in a respectful manner, they will reciprocate the gesture. If your grades are not where you would like them to be, go to the professors early. They will help you target what you need to work on and how to do so. Communicate with them. This is not to say you will have amazing instructors throughout the entire program, but work your way up the chain of command if you have a concern as you would as a nurse. It saddens me to hear that some students yell and curse at such kindhearted and hard-working professors. Some of these professors are doing so much behind the scenes to better the program for us and future students. Lady Dr. Brown is always available for students to reach out to with concerns as well. She is the sweetest and extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Use your recourses. The new lab looks amazing. I wish I could've used it more than once, but at least new students get to use a better lab! Some things I did not like: we have to go pick up our diplomas, there is no graduation ceremony in the fall and summer semesters, and the clinical placement method is a nightmare. Additionally, the clinical courses should have more structure and consistency. The courses are defined by which instructor students receive, and it should not be that way. Some students can graduate having no clinical skills whatsoever, which is a scary thought. The admission process is also very unpredictable and needs improvement. Plenty of students fail out or fail classes, and there are other potential students who could have passed with flying colors if they were admitted.

The teachers for the most part are great- however, there are some that will not be fair and play favorites. Teachers bump students grades up BUT you if you're sitting at a 74.4. (passing is 75 or 74.5 depending on the teacher/syllabus) while I was a victim of the "74.4" category- I had fellow classmates getting added points from A's to B's or C's to B's. Now I understand mine would have been from "failing" to "passing" scenario....but, its the general principle. TREAT ALL STUDENTS EQUAL. I could name drop teachers but I do not want to do that. I have left the program and I'm so much happier! We need some more integrity and this school does not demonstrate that. Choose nursing schools wisely, you will have no life with an accelerated 15 month program.
