Established in 2001.
Lakshmi Challa is the founder and owner of Challa Law Offices. After obtaining her law degree in 1995 from University of Richmond, she worked as an attorney for 5 years before starting her own business in 2001 in Richmond VA and has a successful law office business for the last 11 years. In 2011 she opened an office outside Research Triangle Park in Morrisville, NC.
Her passion to practice immigration law goes back to the time when she came to United States in 1989.
Since she started her business in 2001 she and her firm have been exclusively practicing immigration law; both employment-based and family-based cases. The firm has helped technology companies and other companies with operations abroad to facilitate their international transfer of employees.
In 2009, working with the Virginia Poverty Law Center, Ms. Challa established the Immigrant Victims of Domestic Violence Project which provides pro bono legal assistance to undocumented immigrants.
Meet the Business Owner: Lakshmi C.
Lakshmi Challa is the founder and owner of Challa Law Offices. She started the business in 2001. She has practiced immigration law exclusively for over sixteen years. Her law firm Challa Law Offices is headquartered in Richmond, VA. Since then she has opened an office outside the Research Triangle Park in Morrisville, NC.
Ms. Challa's immigration law prowess was lauded recently when she was selected as one of Virginia's Legal Elite by Virginia Business magazine. While with her previous law firm, McCandlish Kaine, Ms. Challa was selected as one of Inside Business journal's "Top 40 Under 40" business professionals in the Richmond area.
Recently, the Richmond Bar Association selected Ms. Challa to receive the Pro Bono Lawyer Award for 2012, Henrico County named her as Henrico Community Leader of the Year for 2012, and she was selected by Virginia Lawyers Media as one of the "Influential Women of Virginia" for 2012.
Ms. Challa obtained her law degree from the University of Richmond.
