if i could give this shop zero stars I would. Ive gone in multiple times looking for jewelry & almost every time the younger blonde guy has admitted to not knowing what crystals he was selling & would have to look up each time, but had a 1/3 chance of being correct. last time I went in with my friend there was a woman with green hair at the counter. immediately she came off standoffish & would not stop staring at my friend. I could tell my friend was uncomfortable by her stares but I really wanted this kyanite necklace. at the counter the woman told me it was genuine silver bc I inquired I have reactions to anything but. which turns out was not true due to it irritating my neck & turning it green within a week. she then asked my friend who wasn't buying anything where her purchase was. my friend admitted she didn't find anything this time around & the woman at the counter inquired it was a shame bc she saw her looking at all the "expensive" pieces. which is extremely inappropriate considering my friend is a woman of color & it seemed the green haired woman had an issue with that from the jump. overall if you're looking for genuine jewelry or a welcoming spiritual shop this is not the one. it seems money and race are the only thing they pay attention to here. save your money & energy and try any of the other shops in old town spring . read more

I came to Houston on a whim for some much needed time alone. I had a list of things planned to do in my 5 day isolation vacation, and after 2 days, all I had experienced was blissful sleep in my hotel room. I finally ventured out to a nearby retail store for hygiene products, and something told me to look for a crystal shop nearby to find and bring home my best friend something for her throat chakra. That search led me to Chakra shop in Old Town Springs. Which turned out to be the very highlight of my trip itself. The clerk, Christian, became a friend immediately, walking me around, teaching me things I've always been curious of. I spent a while there that day. I've always wanted a reading done as well, and she suggested Dee, the owner. She said she was blunt, straightforward, and spared no feelings when it came to her readings. Basically, if you're an evil presence, she will let you have it. I was immediately so excited I wanted to meet her right then. Lol I had to go through the appt process though but long story short I ended up spending the next day there as well and my reading with Dee left me snotty nosed and drained but so full of curiosity and hope that I still stayed every after she left. I hired her to help me on my own personal healing adventure even though my home is 300 miles away, and she was excited to work with me still to help me grow in myself. She walked me through finding my own personal chakra set or stones, learning the feel and welcoming the feelings each one brought to me. With emails and phone numbers exchanged, I am home now and feel like that experience was a pivotal point in my life and left me a life time customer as well as supporter of the Chakra Shop, the owner and the amazing clerk, Christian. I was not a fan.... immediately walking in the energy was really stale and the staff never attempted to interact with us even though we were the only people in the shop. I would definitely recommend Spirit Quest down the street or This Peaceful Place.... both are within walking distance and no much better. read more

I saw Dee for a tarot card reading and it was boilerplate at best -- she is decent at the art of cold reading which is all psychics and tarot card readers are actually doing (Google "cold reading" if you're not familiar with it). During the read I was bracing for the "hard sell" and sure enough, she did not disappoint. Towards the end of the reading, Dee said she could work with me to release the blocks (energy, I guess....?) but since I'm an "empath" she could teach me how to do it myself to the tune of $1300 but could give me 50% off making it $600 (I'm guessing her spirit guides don't do math very well). I said no. She said I could do payments. I said no. If you go to the shop for a tarot card/psychic reading, go for entertainment value only and be prepared for them to up-sell you on services. They claim to not pressure customers on sells and I agree that was my experience. After I told Dee no on additional services, she did not press the issue. First off , chakras and psychics aren't real. But about 1.5 years ago I believed in this stuff and paid this shop over $100 for candles and stuff to help me out because I was desperate . Every time I tried to contact the shop to come in and do the services or get the supplies I paid for the representative made up excuses about not having an appointment or the items not being there yet. I never heard back from them and lost my money. Don't be dumb like me and fall for this stuff folks ! The first phone medium reading I had was great but then they took my money and ran. read more

My 1st experience with Dee was a pet reading in her shop last summer. When I arrived for my appt time, the store was locked with a sign stating when they'll return - which was marked for 3 hours earlier. So, someone should've been there and the store open. After knocking and waiting for several minutes, Dee came to the door. She was running late, going long with a previous client. She let me in and she returned to the back room to finish her other reading. It was probably another 10 minutes. My reading itself was helpful and insightful, and after following her instruction (which included using some stones - which I purchased for $50), the issues with our pets worked themselves out. However, besides not being on-time for my appt and then making me wait, there were THREE very very annoying and distracting elements that occurred throughout the reading that really put me off: 1. The constant beeping of the smoke alarm, very obviously in need of a new battery. The high-pitched screech (you all know it) was non-stop. I noticed it when I was waiting outside, but was hoping I wouldn't hear it during the reading. Unfortunately, it was loud and clear. When I asked Dee about it, she was nonchalant saying, "Ya, I just haven't gotten around to it. I need to borrow a ladder, I guess." 2. Knocks at the front door by both customers and family members (because the store's supposed to be open but the door is locked). Of course she had to answer it, thus interrupting our session. 3. MULTIPLE phone calls WHICH SHE ANSWERED and conversed with - friends, kids, customers... I couldn't believe it. More interruptions. Why wasn't the phone turned off and the calls sent to voicemail? With every knock at the door or telephone call, she had to remember (and often ask!) where she left off, what the animals names were, and re-gather her thoughts about my reading since she was last making an appt over the phone and was now thinking about that. It was frustrating to say the least. When I left, there were several people out on the porch smoking cigarettes and Dee immediately came out to join them. It's a little thing, but it shows further insensitivity to her customers, in this case, allowing smoking in the entrance way to a business, forcing customers to walk through the smoke. It's also unprofessional. With that said, I tried to let all of the negative stuff slide thinking that I at least got some valuable information about my pets from this experience. So that's cool. My second reading was for both a psychic and Tarot card reading. When I called to make the appt, Dee told me she was in the process of moving out of her shop, so she would do a phone reading instead. "That includes the Tarot reading, too, right?" I asked. "Ya." She told me to text a pic of myself, my name and DOB then call me at our scheduled appt time. I texted her those things, and she replied immediately, "Ok. I will speak with you at ___," confirming our appt time. Great! Well, our appt time came and went. I called both of her phone numbers multiple times and texted her that I was attempting to call, but I got no response. Ever. I was looking forward to this reading and planned my day around it. I was even prepared by meditating beforehand, lighting some incense and getting comfortable in a quiet spot in the house. Needless to say, I'm disappointed. But, I'm not surprised. Based on the first experience only, if all of those distractions weren't a factor, I would've given Dee 3 stars ("A-ok"). But because of those things, I would've give that first reading 2 stars ("Meh. I've experienced better" - because I have). Now, because of the last experience (i.e., being stood up by her), Dee scored herself a single star: "Eek! Methinks not." I hope for her sake that she can get grounded and make some improvements to and for her business. read more

I had to call the store twice today to ask when they would open. Online it says they open at 10:00 A.M on Sundays. I arrived to the store at 11:45 and after waiting around I decided to call at 12:04. I was then told they would open at 1:30 so my family and I left and I later returned at 1:45 to find the store was still closed. I called back since I was really hoping to pick out my late Mother's Day gift being my first crystal(s). I was then told someone was on their way and it wasn't until nearly 2:30 that someone arrived. Despite the lady on the phone and the lady helping me pick out my crystals being very nice I'm not sure if I will be back. It may be easier for me to order online. read more

Wasted my time by getting dressed, got a babysitter and travel time for my appointment last Sunday at 3:30pm. Got there and it was closed. I called the number and luckily someone answered, told me that my appointment was canceled due to lady being sick, but seemed unconcerned and even rude, when I voiced my unhappiness that no one called or emailed me to tell me about the cancellation. I was really looking forward to this appointment all week and was super excited, so I was devastated at this news. Had never explored anything like this before and never will again. i never leave reviews but this has to be said on my experience...First D is very rude and very un professional. I pulled up with myself and my teenage daughter i saw an older women smoking near door thinking maybe was a customer or a worker. So we walked in and she follow behind to my surprise was the OWNER my gosh very un professional to smoke what i think was not a cigarette....she walked in indrucing herself as D and smell horrible like smoke im sorry but that is just plain out disgusting!!!! So me and my daugther walked around was pretty tiny store bit cramped up and smell like smoke for obvious reasons. I ask so called owner about a certain crystal i was needing and what a shock she had no freaking clue what i was talking about!! You own a crystal shop saying over 40 years you have been in this business and could not answer a simple question about a crystal. D was very rude to me saying there is no such crystal and i need to do my research..so we left and i found my crystal at other shop in town. D made me feel very uncomfortable and stupid also tried to keep selling me a tarot card reading saying she see to many negative enegies yikes!
