Great location right off the 404, very clean and not sticky and smokey like the other ayce kbbq places. Few key notables: -The shrimps are pre peeled unlike other places where the shells stick on the grill -Salmon slices are thick and not soaked in oil which lead to a very nice grilled fillet -Dessert is Melon ice cream bars(Melon, Mango, Coconut). Sushi was fresh and not over sized. Maki was fair sized as well -Great friendly service, water was always topped up promptly

These aren't the normal shrimps that they serve.... where's the FULL SHRIMP? HEAD AND ALL!? =(

AY YI YI YI...... What a huge disappointment at this location. I've been to all the other Chakos and was super excited when this place opened up near my house. My boyfriend and I, had a long week and were hangry. So we wanted to DRINK and stuff our face, that was our intentions when we arrived to Chakos. Thursday night dinner: $24.99 - fewer selections than all the other Chakos... A lot nicer and smaller than the places I've been to. The service was okay. A bit slow and it wasn't busy. I was disappointed that they gave us the drink menu and asked what we wanted and then later told us that they didn't have their alcohol license yet so they are unable to serve alcohol. 1.) why would you put up drink promos if you did not have your license 2.) This chako has been opened for a couple months and still no LLBO? 3.) why would you give us the DRINK menu and not tell us before hand... -____- Menu: no bean sprouts? isn't that a korean staple at all the korean joints? The corn salad was different.. Shrimp was like the cheaper - already peeled shrimp you would find in a typical grocery store. I missed the full Shrimp - with the head and insides were the best part of grilling a shrimp. The mussels were actually really good. The best that I had at Chakos. The marinate for the beef, pork and short ribs were the norm. Service was a-ok. They added 10% grat onto the bill and urge you to tip more. I don't think we will be coming back here. It simply wasn't worth it and I rather drive all the way to McNicoll's location for Chakos. That seems like the best Chako so far. Happy eating elsewhere Yelpers!

Meat cooking on a reachable grill with a nice setting.

Food was delicious! Their meat such as the beef ribs are seasoned with kimchi which is amazing! I ordered more than 5 and enjoyed every single one. I loved all their chicken and beef with their seasoning. Not only is the food good, the server I had was incredibly helpful! Always came back multiple times at the right time, was very quick and nice. Their steak is pretty amazing as well. I have short arms and all the KBBQ places that I have gone to, all their grills are high and the table is so large that I constantly have to stand, bend over and reach far which just made the experience tiring. It's in perfect reach which allowed me to focus on the fun rather than the troubles of having to cook the food. Though I do wish their plates were bigger. It wasn't that big of a deal but it definitely couldn't fit much at once. I truly had a great time here and would come again!

Clean and fresh grill !

I just wanted to rewrite my review... of course still 5/5 but I wanted to talk about the waitress percilla. She was the most incredible heart warming caring person I've ever met in my life. She really took care of us well. She checked in / always removed our plates and refilled our water she was amazing. If I could tip her $1000 I would.

We ordered chicken, beef, ribs, mushroom, muscles, calamari and shrimps.

We loved this place. Many options. They serve your marinated food and read to be cooked. You cook it on your table. The food was tender and great service. Jeff helped us today and he was on the ball. Great experience with the kids. I would definitely go back again.

So happy that Chako has opened in Aurora! After going to the location in Richmond Hill for years, I was super excited to see it in construction. First night visiting the new location, I was super impressed by the design, cleanliness and service. Top notch. Especially because I already knew what to expect coming from the Richmond Hill location. Servers are attentive and atmosphere is fun and welcoming. Good quality food, sushi and dessert! (banana popsicles yum!!) Defiantly recommend the salads, tofu, beef and short ribs.

I was so impressed with the quality of the food and service. Compared to the east beaver creek location it is night and day.

Review Highlights - Chako

It's definitely way better than the Richmond Hill location in terms of quality of meat and breathable air.

We got the gamjatang jeongol and it was massive for two people. There were raw pork belly slices on top of the gamjatang so I had to make sure they were fully cooked before consuming. It was hard because there was a lot of soup so it made it extra difficult to push the raw items to the bottom. We ordered less spicy but it was still really spicy! It was flavourful and they gave lots of pork bone. We took the rest home and I had to add water to dilute it lol.

For a group of three, we went with budaejjigae (army stew), which is good for two to four people. The server seemed surprised that we weren't ordering more. If the menu lists that it can feed four people, it seemed like plenty for us, and we aren't big eaters. We received four side dishes -- cucumbers, radishes, nappa cabbage kimchi, and one we weren't familiar with. We asked the server what it was, and he said the name, but we still didn't know what it was. I asked him to repeat it, and he appeared quite annoyed that he had to say it more than once. The army stew wasn't cooking once the server had set it down on the table. It looked like the butane gas canister was empty. We used the call button to call the server back, since he was nowhere to be found. The army stew had luncheon meat, sausage, beans, zucchini, kappa cabbage, tofu, rice cakes, instant ramen, and a slice of American cheese. It was delicious.  Overall, the food is good, but the service is quite lacking. We felt like we were bothering the server by inquiring about the side dish, asking for extra chopsticks, and requiring another gas canister.

My visit to Noodle Max would be one of these unexplained phenomenon. I was really hoping to try this hyped up beef noodle place in Richmond Hill, only to have my hope squashed by a long line up at 4:20pm in the afternoon. 4:20!!! WTH!!! On a snowy, slushy late afternoon, I blindly (and slowly) drove my way aimlessly to Aurora. I remember some Asian restaurant getting rave reviews up in Aurora and that being Noodle Max (maybe it wasn't so aimless). If you are someone who believes in destiny, I can tell you destiny will occasionally give you sxxxxy things. Noodle Max would be one of them. Noodle Max's main offerings are Lan Zhou style noodles and was it ever an unauthentic and underwhelming experience. I wouldn't go as far to say the soup was tasteless like water, but it's pretty bland. While the soup for Lan Zhou noodles are not generally crazy strong in flavour, it should still have the taste of spices. The beef slices were also pretty tame in flavour. They were ok. The main plus about their noodle was the portion; quite big. The noodle had better texture than most store bought noodles, but it did not have the proper floury taste and the limited flavours from the soup was not able to hang onto the noodles. Aurora used to be a black hole in terms of dining options, but not anymore. How Noodle Max continued to garner such a high Yelp and Google rating befuddles me.

There were only two other customers in the entire place so that was surprising they took so long. The positive is they have a ton of seating available and it's clean inside. While we were waiting for our food the only worker that was there left to get food from a neighbouring restaurant or T&T (I couldn't tell but assumed maybe they ran out of food for our order but I could be wrong) then we waited even longer. You can see I took a picture of another customer who came in and was waiting with no employees there. Then after 15 mins MORE of waiting for whoever in the kitchen to add the rice in to the chicken they gave us our food. We weren't able to eat it there so had to take it to go at this point since we were late for an appointment. I asked the employee to give me a price difference refund since she charged us for a more expensive dish versus what we actually ordered. Be careful when you go here. Great AYCE sushi & Asian fusion restaurant in Newmarket. Most sushi restaurants and AYCE places…read moreserve only lettuce salad as veggie option, but Cynthia's Paradise actually had good veggies on the menu (grilled zucchini, okra, eggplant, mixed vegetables consisting of broccoli, carrot, onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, etc.). My favourite was the grilled zucchini (not overcooked and very lightly seasoned). Least favourite was the grilled eggplant (nice texture but way too saucy). Everything else on the menu was decent, including the sushi and sashimi. Sushi rolls were on the small side, and not overly the top amazing, but as expected for an AYCE restaurant. Hand rolls were excellent (especially the unagi hand roll) - loved the crispy seaweed on the outside, and slices of cucumber added inside. Dim sum was mediocre (only tried the har gow / steamed shrimp dumplings). The grilled stuff were good - grilled vegetables, scallops, squid. Portion sizes were perfect (small), so you get to order a wide variety of items to share from their large selection. Even their dessert menu was more extensive than in a lot of other sushi / AYCE restaurants -- they had lychee yogurt, tiramisu, blueberry & coconut ice cream, matcha ice cream, and other light fruit-based desserts. Although the restaurant touts itself as "Japanese, Korean, and Thai", it's about 70% Japanese (typical AYCE sushi menu items), 27% Thai (mostly the noodles and some stir-fried dishes), and 3% Korean (only 1 dish was quasi-Korean). Good food selection overall though. Ordering was done efficiently on the iPad, with a cute and polite robot that came to deliver your food (pretty common robot in a lot of sushi and hot pot restaurants these days). I found the interior to be quite dark, but I guess that was the aesthetic that they were going for.

The ambiance is more western style with dimmed lighting. We went on Sunday night and it was quite packed so make sure to make a reservation!
