The menu is lit up on the wall, and for those of us who are aged, it is not easy to read. Omomo is the best at the menu. This place is the hardest to read. Bring back the seasonal soy milk tea!!! Okay, now that I got that out of my system, on to my review! When this place first opened, I tried a few different drinks. Pretty much everything on their top 10 was tried after 3 visits. However, my favorite was their seasonal soy milk tea. The black tea was strong and the soy milk was perfect for my lactose intolerant self! I usually get my drinks at 50% at other boba places but here I got it at their regular sweetness level. After their soy milk tea went out of season, I struggled to find another drink I liked. I tried their new mango drinks and didn't like them. I like mangos but the combination that's in their mango drinks didn't hit it for me. Then I tried a few other milk teas but Most teas weren't very strong. However, I brought my tea back and they remade it and it was perfect. Now now, I get their #1 Sri Lanka drink or the peach oolong milk tea. I'm not a fan of their boba balls the few times I tried, I just prefer the super QQ texture in my boba balls and this place didn't hit the texture requirement that I like. In the Bloomingdale's food court (that's fun). Friend brought me here since they like the chain in general & their other locations. Was a bit of a wait in a busy mall area like South Coast, but it's a fun food court to look around with the decorations & other options. Ordered off their popular drinks menu & got the Matcha Tornado (matcha, and surprisingly fresh taro) without any modifications. A little on the pricier side for the regular size without toppings, but costs are increasing all around anyway. Wasn't too sweet (perfect for my parents), but shocked me a little when I first tasted it. The matcha & taro eventually grew on me and it tasted like a flavored milk tea but just a little thicker. Surprisingly, I stumbled into this small food market on my way to the elevator and stopped by for some bubbletea! I opted to go for a regular sized #8, which was osmanthus oolong cha with their regular cheese foam on top. $5.5. Adjusted my sweetness to 50%, and it was SO GOOD. The cheesefoam is comparable, if not better than Gong Cha. There's a few more different variations of foam to add. Will be back to try more! read more

A review for my lactose intolerant fam~ Be careful with what you order and make sure you ASK if the drink has milk I ordered drink #2 on their Top 10 drinks menu: Coco Avocado The ingredients listed are: fresh strawberries, coconut milk, house made avocado smoothie My lactose intolerant brain immediately lit up reading "coconut milk" not thinking there would be any other type of milk in there since it wasn't listed. I got the drink and was a bit hesitant because it's a smoothie consistency, so I asked if there was milk inside and turns out it is full of dairy! There is whole milk inside the drink, which you can actually switch out for a plant-based milk. BUT the foam (which is what makes it a smoothie consistency) is fully milk. So there is unfortunately no way to actually get this drink dairy-free. Luckily, they were nice enough to make me a new drink replacing the milk that /could/ be replaced, with oat milk. The cashier (boy with dark hair and braces- who was so so sweet and helpful!) told me that many people who are lactose intolerant can actually handle the foam, so I decided to try my luck. I am writing this the next day happy to report that I'M FINE! Yay. The drink itself was one of the tastiest drinks I've had. I did take a sip of the drink before I got the oat milk one and the regular drink does taste better, but it's still super delicious with oat milk! Drinks Drinks were really yummy and tasted very high quality. we got two of the most popular drinks. the blueberry matcha was really good it isn't too overwhelmingly sweet but the flavor was still there. I would say the blueberry taste wasn't to strong which I enjoyed. The matcha didn't taste cheap which is another plus. For my cinnamon toast latte it was super flavor but had the perfect amount of sweetness. The vanilla foam on top was my favorite the texture was perfect and had the perfect amount of vanilla as well. Super excited for another location for Cha Redefine! Their tea drinks are sooo good! I dropped by with my friends and got the orange green tea with avocado foam -- so unique and good! I personally love fresh fruit teas and especially when you taste the real fruits. A lot of the reviews seem to be complaining about the price $7-9, but the normal tea drinks are actually pretty comparable in price $5-6. When I'm feeling not as fancy, I usually go for their osmanthus oolong or their Jasmine Jade cha tea! You can really taste the quality of the tea they use and that's why I love their drinks! They also have freshly delivered pastries as well which is a nice addition! We tried the almond croissant, apricot tart, and this other pastry that I can't remember the name of but all so good! I was excited to try a new coffee/boba place in the area! I was craving coffee, so I tried the iced Cinnamon Toast Latte. The vanilla cream foam was yummy and sweet, but it was thick. I wasn't able to sip my drink because the coffee wouldn't budge past the cream foam, so I just got a mouthful of cinnamon powder when I tried to do so. You can only really enjoy the drink by mixing in the cream foam with a straw, which was a bummer because I like to sip the foam/drink at the same time. I still enjoyed the drink once I was able to drink it through the straw - it was creamy and not too sweet. The shop is located in the food court inside of Bloomingdale's. To get there, you enter through the outside entrance of the store and will see escalators that will bring you there. If you're lost, just look for Paradise Dynasty because Cha is right next to that. The wait was pretty long for just 1 drink, so I hope to come back when they make their processes more effective. Before Cha Redefine opened, I believe there was no place that served boba drinks inside of South Coast Plaza. I think this is a great addition to the mall and am happy I tried it! read more

My friends and I were thirsty after walking around the mall looking for a dress. We stumbled upon this new tea shop called Cha Redefine and the owner was explaining to us about how they brew their teas. I'm not a huge fan of sweet tea boba drinks but I think I've found my favorite place! Unlike the other boba shops, this one uses real high quality loose tea leaves and no powders. Which is why you can taste the difference! I got their seasonal soy cream foam latte and my other friends got tea drinks. Let's just say that I've never tasted anything like it before!! I asked for no sweet since I prefer my coffee on the black side. But that sweetened soy foam perfectly sweetened the espresso just enough to make this drink a 10/10! I took a sip of my friends tea drink and it tasted like something you'd have at an upscale tea house. They definitely don't skimp on quality here. You know they only use real tea leaves and real fruits. If you are looking for a healthier alternative to tea drinks, check out this place! This review is probably biased by the fact that my blood sugar was really low at this point, so I thought my drink was so good. I got the top drink on the menu, which was the coco strawberry and avocado. This is a blended avocado drink with pieces of strawberry and agar boba. In terms of sweetness level, the cashier told me that this drink usually runs sweet, so she recommended 25% sweetness for those who do not like sweet drinks and 50% sweetness for those who do like sweet drinks but not too sweet. I got 50% and I thought it was the right level of sweetness. You can taste both the avocado and strawberries in the drink, which was great. Strangely, my mom and I also tasted hints of durian (which was fine, we both like durian); it might have just been the avocado having a really strong flavor because I don't think they added durian. We've seen this spot before but never tried it until today. My husband and I chose items from their top 10 menu, I got the Mango Mango, and he got the Blueberry Oatmilk Matcha. I was sadly disappointed in my mango drink. The grapefruit chunks and strange boba really took over the flavor of the coconut milk and mango, something I expected to be fruity and refreshing. My husband and I ended up trading, and his blueberry matcha was just okay, but it wasn't great and was a little too bitter and came across very green like seaweed. Went for the BOGO hojicha and tried the whole hojicha line, cha cha hojicha, hojicha einspanner, and cheese hojicha. The cashier mentioned the drinks were really sweet and recommended zero sugar, which was perfect, drinks still had a subtle sweetness. However, none of the drinks had tea flavor, even the tea jelly had more tea flavor than the actual hojicha. If milky teas are your flavor profile, go for the hojicha. read more

It took quite some time to get my drink after I ordered and there were a lot of people waiting. The drink was just okay. I ordered a lychee chappuccino with a quarter sweetness. Apparently their chappuccino is just what they call their milk teas. I could not taste the lychee flavor that much, which was disappointing. I forgot to take a photo before enjoying my drink thoroughly--oops Cha Redefine is located in the little food market in the back of Bloomingdales. They boast quality ingredients that are made fresh daily. Strawberry green tea is a common order of mine at various boba shops, but this has to be one of my favorites! The green tea was refreshing and the strawberry flavor was strong. I could also taste a lot of real strawberry bits in the drink that told me the ingredients were indeed real and fresh. The server was nice and was happy to answer my questions. I thought about purchasing the tea leaves they sell, which were $22 for 4 oz, but decided against it for now. There was a bit of a wait to get my drink, though (maybe around 10-15 mins on a Monday afternoon) There are a bunch of chairs to sit and wait at, or you can walk around the food hall or Bloomingdale's. I've also had to Sri Lankan tea in the past with boba which is bit more flavorful. If I were to go again, I would probably just get the Sri Lankan tea. I had the mango mango which was so delicious. You can tell they actually use real mango pulp in the drink. It wasn't overly sweet and mixed great with lychee jelly.
