The whole team at CMA have been nothing but gracious and kind to me over the many years I have known them. Each of them brings their own knowledge, skillset, and expertise that is one of a kind. I have had CMA do several inspections of both workplaces and home environments and have been so pleased each and every time. I am very sensitive to mold and I feel so confident that their attention to detail is able to record anything that may trigger my sensitivity. They are fairly priced, reasonable in their recommendations and standards for mold (there is no such thing as "mold free"!, but we can strive for an environment without active mold or water damage). Our latest inspection was done by Brad. He took several hours (about 5) and was thoroughly documenting and inspecting every square inch of our apartment. He was able to find the hidden sources of mold that were making my husband and I feel sick in several unexpected areas (including behind walls) without creating damage to the surfaces in our rental. He was highly personable and professional and called us himself to discuss the results. I highly recommend CMA, and have also recommended them to many of my patients (I am a nurse practitioner). SO beyond grateful to them for all their role in my healing journey. I am a completely different person today than I ever was before, and I attribute that, in part, to CMA's swift and thorough work in examining suspect environments. We were scammed. There is a well known ring of functional medicine doctors who refer this company and get a cut. We spent 6k and it was a total waste. They are well known in the mold community to be a scam. Please get multiple quotes and talk to people. Don't get taking advantage of in a vulnerable moment. read more

I will say CMA does a very thorough job; however we paid $10k for our inspection because we had 2 areas of water damage and were recommended to use this company through a mold consultant. Upon remediation, we only found minimal mold in our house (one area we knew about) and paid $30k remediate and build back areas where zero mold was found. If you use them, just be aware of the very high service cost (they do a ton of air samples and other sampling) and following their protocol for remediation in your house may lead to not finding mold. read more

CMA helped me during a time in my life where I was very sick and in over my head with a sick house. Sean and Al both take the time to listen first and help in any way they can. They were able to come promptly and cared about when and how they delivered the message of how bad our home was. We had to go through a legal dispute with the builder and Al and Sean were with us every step of the way. They were able to identify a whole-house mold issue that was in our HVAC's and they identified water intrusion sources from our balconies, stucco, roof, doors, and bathroom showers. I was grateful they were able to deliver the news that it was safest for us to vacate the home for my health, even though that was extremely difficult news to share. Despite the financial ramifications, the peace that came from being out of that sick home quickly was what we needed to heal. Al, Sean, Lisa and the rest of the team at Certified Mold Assessments are incredible! I was very sick in my twenties without answers and an amazing MD asked if I had ever checked my house for mold. She wondered if that was the cause for my many health woes and it turns out, she was right! She recommended CMA as a trusted inspection company to check the house. It was a beautiful home with no visible mold or musty smells, but it had hidden black mold that was making me sick and CMA found it. They are so thorough, honest and communicative which is exactly what you want when hiring someone to come into your home. My health is in an entirely new place today and I owe a portion of my success to their work! Forever grateful and highly recommend. I saw a review about their prices being high and my advice is to just discuss it with them up front. There is a different level of inspection for "is it safe for me to live here?" and "I need full documentation of all mold in this home to give to a remediation company" which might be where confusion in rates arose. Al and Lisa saved the day! I was trying to close on my house and 15 min to closing, the bank called and said they needed a few things last minute before securing the loan. Not what you want to hear as you're on your way to close on a house. My balloon was popped to say the least. One of those things was a mold inspection. I called this company and they came out that day, did their thing, and had the samples they took "rushed" so we could get the results to the bank the next day. We worked with CMA to inspect a home we were purchasing in Tampa. Everyone was incredibly helpful, working with our ever changing dates during the purchase process. They provided us with a wealth of information on their findings in both a report and via the phone and talked through all of the recommendations. Having family members with severe mold sensitivity, it was really important to us to make sure the home we moved into was free of mold and any other environmental concerns. Fortunately the findings weren't too extreme. We worked with one of the remediators they recommended (Battle Born Restoration) who was amazing, and an HVAC company they recommended (Tampa Air Systems / EnviroAir Systems) who was terrible! CMA were fantastic in making sure the work was done properly despite the contractor challenges, coming out multiple times to to retest until all was clear. After weeks of being sick with asthma type symptoms at our current residence I decided to hire someone to perform some tests to see if we had higher than normal mold levels in the house. Al with Certified Mold Assessments really went above and beyond with the work he performed for us and I am more than satisfied with his services. His reports were so detailed and thorough and explained everything that I was curious about. I really appreciated his attention to detail. The mold investigation confirmed exactly what I expected, and a trip to an allergy specialist also confirmed my severe mold allergy which had progressed to full blown asthma due to my prolonged exposure. We decided to move! (No big surprise there). The house is pretty old and at this point my health is our top priority. I am feeling significantly better staying at my mom's place for the time being and we are using Al's suggestion regarding the HEPA air purifiers to clean up the air in the apartment so that I can be there for packing and moving. My in-laws, the owners of the residence, will be using his report for analysis and planning to see how they want to handle potential repairs. I have recently purchased a brand new build home. Unfortunately we did not know it came with mold! The first company that came out did some air samples and stated our house was good to go! Due to health issues that kept arising in the house, I decided to call another company, Certified Mold Assessments. I am SO thankful I did. Sean came out and did an extremely thorough job testing and looking for mold. He was able to find the problem immediately and provided an extremely detailed report. UPDATE 1/9/18... Sean, Megan, and Al have been great to us the last few months. They always answered our calls and emails. They even recommended a remediation company that did a fantastic job for us. We had the final inspection yesterday, and everything came back great. I'm SO GLAD I found CMA! Original review... I called Sean after finding his business info online. He's the only person that answered my call, so I set the appointment up with him. He came a week later to do the testing in our house. He was very kind, professional, and knowledgeable. We have a small, cluttered house, and he never made me feel judged (which was very appreciated). He wasn't afraid to get on the ground and get into tough to reach places. He took samples from three places in my home, and promised a report in a week. What I got was so much more than I expected. The report is LONG and incredibly detailed. Unfortunately, I had him come out before I contacted my insurance company, and they wanted to send their own people. Their guy is here now, and was very impressed with the report. He's not nearly as friendly as Sean was. I would highly recommend Sean! read more
