When my house was first painted it looked amazing. However it only lasted less than three months. The paint stayed tachy, everything sticks to it & the paint is peeling. I had called the company, they came out 6 times, twice they did touch ups from the paint I already had from the left overs. Not washing or prepping just painting over the peeling spots. The other times they just came to look at the continuous issues. The owner doesn't care and refuses to take responsibility. Their contract says there is a two year warranty & they do not honor their contract. They brush your off until that period is up. They try to charge you what you paid the first time to paint their mistakes again. Before I had issues I recommended them to a neighbor that also had a bad experience, they had runs in the paint, missed coverage & got paint on their expensive drapes & did nothing to make that right either. This company was contacted by their corporate office to setup an estimate. They responded back stating they would not come out unless the job was over $1000. It was obviously about 4 times that amount. They were to follow up that day within the hour to schedule the estimate business. They never made any attempt to contact for the estimate visit and conducted themselves very unprofessionally. I contacted the corporate office and advised them of the situation and advised them to have no one come out or contact me. We hired them to do our outside after seeing the great job done on our neighbors house, John was timely and responsive in getting us a quote and followed up with an inspection after the job was complete. The communication and professionalism of the owner Ray was beyond disappointing. At times he was condescending to me which is so unprofessional. They would not show up when they were supposed to and I would text and get no reply. John promised to have the house completed before July 4th and then the painters did not show up for three days. They blamed rain in the forecast when I finally got an answer from them but this is Florida in the summer - there is always rain in the forecast and it did not rain on those days at our house. My point was then at least communicate - don't tell me your coming and then just not show up and not answer a text asking if they are coming. Ray was condescending and told me he made sure all was done when the job was completed. We were out of town when they finished. We came home to tape still in several areas and paint and/or residue footprints from the tarps all over our brand new pavers. So they did NOT clean up after themselves at all. And while John says - I'm sorry - the trust was already lost when you said the job was done and clearly they didn't clean up their mess. And we do NOT agree on what looks "very good." We had stucco where a screen was taken down - it looks terrible painted but John assured me it looked "very good" and told me I was wrong. I'm not wrong - it looks terrible. He can keep saying it looks very good but it does not. I will never use this company again. My house may be painted FINALLY but the sure lack of communication, respect and just how they treat a customer was completely unacceptable. read more

We are a 55 and older community and chose Ray and his crew to paint the entire exterior of our complex. They prepared and painted everything including the carports and storage sheds. I requested a quote directly for an exterior paint job from the main CertaPro website (I had no idea there were numerous franchises individually owned, servicing numerous areas in FL so, do your research). I was sent an electronic appointment confirmation and met up and John Freeman. My first impression of John was professional. Everything went fine although the "walk-around" was rather quick to determine pricing. During our conversation I mentioned to him I was having a difficult time choosing colors and he recommend I visited the local Sherwin-Williams (SW) store for a color consultation (he never said they were paying SW for the service) so, I did. John informed me they were scheduling 2-3weeks out. A few days later I called John and asked him to come by at his convenience to point out somethings of concern and to ensure we were on the same page. He came by the next day and I pointed out some of soffit around the house that seemed hard to just caulk and paint. John agreed and recommended a contractor to replace the soffit. The contractor and I met the next day and we agreed on the work and the pricing. I immediately called John and kept in the loop. I also told him I had decided on the colors and that I might be looking at five different colors (due to accent walls and trim). CertaPro gives you theee color choices and one is specifically for your door(s). John said there might be a price change because of all the colors and sent over a revised estimate to consider the changes. I never confirmed to him that there would be five colors for sure but, I wanted to have the option. At this point we also tentatively agreed on a date for the project. Once the soffit work was completed, I contacted John (about 10 days prior to the date we had tentatively agreed upon), to let him know and to reconfirm the start date. John said he would confirm and get back to me. This was my last communication with John. I NEVER heard from him again! I waited 5 days after the date we had tentatively selected before I contacted his boss, Mr Lubesky. I was already disappointed and puzzled by John's ghosting and AHAF Lubesky only added insult to the situation. First, he said and I quote "we do 1,000 plus proposals per year. I do not read every proposal", meaning he didn't know me from the next John Doe. I think he tried to apologize for the drop in communication but, it came across more like a lame justification, wrapped up in excuses. He went on to say that, and I quote.." I will point out clearly to you that much was done correctly by John in your service". AHAF Lubesky was referring to the fact that John suggested the color consult, recommended the contractor and issued an estimate, I am guessing. Mr Lubesky even goes as far as to bullet point CertaPro values and how he felt they were met...quite comical really. He also pointed out that CertaPro pays out of pocket for the color consult at SW which, is a lie. The color consult is a FREE service to anyone that asks for one at their store. This is all very telling of him. Lastly he pointed out that I was simply angry because the drop in communication"...I had to laugh because he has some nerve assuming my emotional state. I don't think AHAF Lubesky believes in the "customer is always right" motto or has any service recovery strategy. If he does, he's doing a terrible job at it. In my opinion, if AHAF Lubesky is in agreeance with the type of service John Freeman is providing in the community and this is in any way a reflection of the work they would have done at my place then, I consider myself lucky. I cannot comment on the actual paint job but, just beware you might waste your time and will not be extended the courtesy to allow you to seek someone else that actually needs/wants the job! There are many reputable companies out there that deserve a chance and that will stand by their work and might not be too proud to apologize wone is ReplY to AHAF Lubesky So now you are not only a simple painter but a Psychologist who can diagnose people?! LOL. Give me a break Ahole! If anyone bothers reading all the reviews on here, they will realize the consistency of your inconsisties. I don't give a $@?! about your opinion of me, it is as irrelevant as are you. Loved that they showed up in a mask, as safety is number one right now. They did a fantastic job painting our interior, an outside wall, doors, and trim. And they took off 70 year old wallpaper, textured the wall and painted the room and it looks like a brand new room! Will attach pictures soon. We're so happy with the job that Ray, the owner, and the crew did for us. Ray came on the first day of painting and communicated to us what needed to be done so that there were no surprises. While he was there, our dog had a freak accident and got a hook from a fishing pole stuck on his lip and Ray ran out to the truck and got a tool and helped us help our scared dog. After the job was done, we asked for the paint color # so that we could get a can for any future touch ups, Ray reserved and paid for the paint so we could just go pick it up. It is a long story to tell you all the details. I will try to be short. First, a few months ago we hired Certa Pro to paint the interior. They did a very good job so we decided to use them again for the exterior, but it was a different crew this time. First day, they didn't show up for a scheduled appointment. No calls, no messages. I waited couple of hours, had to go to work and as a result I was late. They only started the next day. I was told by the salesman that they were supposed to get the job done within 3-5 days. Basically, they started on December 10 and I thought it is going to be a nice gift to my family for Christmas. While they were working, everything looked OK, you know you see your house changing color, looking good. They put a sign in front of the house "Certa Pro Painters and an 800 phone number" so the neighbors could see who was doing the job. Nice, I had no problem with that. Except, on December 14 they came to me and said they are done. We looked around the house to final results. Although, it was getting dark, we found a couple of spots where they needed to do a touch up. They said they would come tomorrow first thing in the morning and finish it. I signed all the paper work and gave them a check... Oops!!! That was a major mistake... They didn't show up next day. They only came the following day and did some touch ups for an hour, said we will be back at 3 pm. But they didn't show up.. no calls, no messages. But the most important part we found was that the work they had done was unfinished. We discovered that 60% (!) of the house needed to be repainted. The reason we didn't see it in the first place was because looking in the bright sun makes it hard to see any flaws but after 5pm you can see the issues perfectly. You can see the old paint coming through which was a little darker than the one we used for painting. I don't want to spent too much time describing my anger and un-satisfaction with this job. I am not the guy who likes to complain. It is more important for me to get a job done even if took longer but not this time. This is a total rip off, sorry. Paid the money before the job was done. Spent a lot time texting to the manager, calling him and trying to tell him what needs to be done. Eventually called the national Certa Pro website 800 number and tried to complain. All they did was conference with me and the same manager who failed to manage the job in the first place. The person from the Certa Pro website didn't even participate in the call. The last time someone showed up to do some touch ups was on January 9th! If you don't remember, the job started on December 10th. My last complaint was the floor on the patio where you can clearly see one coating and two coatings next to one another. They told me if I give them more money for more paint they would fix it. Really? By the way, to make it all clear, how many coatings are there supposed to be applied? Here is an excerpt from Certa Pro's contract/offer: Multiple Coating Included: guaranteed smooth and even coverage of Sherwin Williams' clear prime/sealer "Loxon" and premium Sherwin-Williams "Super Paint". Some areas may require additional coverage of coating to give a uniform overall appearance and this is what we consider "guaranteed coverage". To this day, the job was not fully done. The patio's floor needs to be repainted. I have never had an experience like this, especially from a company that advertises on National TV. I want all the potential customers to know what they can expect from Certa Pro so my advice is to look elsewhere.. I wish I could get my money back... Oh, and did I mention that they painted brand new solar heater system valves and a cover for the control panel (ever heard of masking tape?), a water hose, a trash can and an outside light!! In addition to that, one of the 4 screen doors for glass patio doors that I had before just disappeared (it may not be their fault, but they are who removed the doors and stored them outside and never put them back). They were also using our trash cans to dispose their materials used for painting. To prove my point, I will be attaching some photos for you to see. All the pictures were done after the money was paid and the paperwork was signed. Don't use this company. My cabinets were painted 13 months ago and the paint is still soft in many areas. Owner Ray claims the paint is doing what it is supposed to do. Technically he is right, unfortunately at some point paint is supposed to harden, which it has not fully done so yet. According to 2 other reputable contractors, my paint is blocked from drying and will take more time to fully cure at some point. Too many coats of paint too quickly. Rename the company to CertaBlow. read more

We had CertaPro paint our house 2 years ago. They did all the prep work and used nothing but top notch paint. The job was completed in a 2 day period of time and very professionally done. There was a 2 year warrantee on the paint job, which we did not realize. At the end of this period we received a reminder card in the mail. We noticed that one of our outdoor walls had faded due to intense afternoon sun. I called Ray and he personally came to our house and immediately said they would repaint the wall. We were both surprised that the one wall had faded. He has since repainted the wall, and we are very happy with the service we have received. From the first contact I was impressed by how prompt and thorough each person I encountered including Ray. and to say i am thrilled with the work is an understatement. two painters Enrique and Ernesto came exactly when i was told they would come. They are thorough, fast and do excellent work. and i thought the price charged was very fair. The person who estimated the job, John, helped me understand how each option was calculated and enabled me to make the wisest decision. Would not recommend this company to anyone They did not take off shutters nor any light fixtures. When I asked why they said it was against policy. Hmmmmm My paint was peeling three weeks after it was completed and the actual owner came and fixed it. After a few more weeks the paint was peeling again and he told me this was his last time coming and he was only going to fix two areas. Two days ago I received a card in the mail telling my warranty was getting ready to expire. If I have a warranty then why is my paint still peeling. Not to mention they had to redo my front door twice because that was peeling also. Let me add the front door was still not painted originally from warehouse so they can't say it was because of paint being bad that their paint couldn't attach to it. We paid extra for that and asked him if he was sure it would grab and he said we use the good stuff that grabs on anything. He went as far as to say I'm telling you it will be beautiful when we're done. Hmmmm After they said they were done I went around the house the following day and saw sooo many missed parts. Parts where paint wasn't finished Parts that hadn't been back rolled as he so put it You could even see that they had missed parts they had sprayed which were supposed to be covered by the back rolling that they apparently did not do. A complete nightmare. And the worst part we paid them cash so there was nothing we could do and the owner knew that. I'm sure the reason why he was so easy to brush us off. read more
