The park path officially opened for pedestrians on the weekend of June 18, 2021. This 2-km path offers nice views of the surrounding cordillera, complete with photo guides to show you what hills and mountain peaks you're gazing at (assuming it is clear and not foggy or too polluted).
We arrived via bicycle before the winter-solstice sun rose over the peaks. I highly recommend locking your bike on one of the bike racks available and enjoying the path on foot because a) 2 km is not far to walk but is too short to bike, and b) the path is wide enough for a group of 3-4 people to walk with a dog, little kids, or strollers, so a bike is just going to create more headaches for everyone, especially the cyclist.
The comuna of Las Condes did a really nice job constructing this beautiful path. I hope it stays this nice for years to come, but I'm already worried how it will look in a few years when vandals decide to deface it. The good news is that, at least for now, there are security and park personnel keeping watch and monitoring the path to ensure safety and rule compliance. read more
