Pretty swank restaurant with deeply romantic atmosphere. It's very dark inside, so, dark that we asked for a 2nd lamp on our table. All good though. More importantly, we got seated right away, we had excellent service, and the food was very good! We shared the following dishes for 4 ppl: :) calamari - loved that they added in some veggies with the calamari. :) clam chowder - wow, it was butter and heavy cream, which made it ultra luxurious! :) crab louie salad - it was fine, i can't remember if there were any crab in it but definitely had baby shrimps :) ribeye steak with ravioli and cream spinach - the truffle oil was so lovely, it was good! :) ny steak w/wine sauce - tougher meat but so much flavor. i love me a ny steak :) tres leche cake - they added a very nice hbd chocolate for added celebratory effects. it worked! we especially love the dollops of lemon cream on the side of the cake :) free complimentary hazelnut squares - free is free and such a nice treat and unexpected. so, thank you, ceron kitchen! I went on an impromptu Tuesday evening and early, so, there were plenty of space for more patrons. But overall, we had a really lovely evening. Ceron is an amazing option for a more upscale restaurant in Alameda and I think people haven't quite caught on to it yet, so I've never had trouble getting a reservation. Everything we tried was amazing, and I specifically enjoyed it the fish dish with the lobster butter. I came to celebrate my birthday, and they gave us a round of champagne and a dessert, which I thought was very generous and much appreciated. I returned for brunch, and the brunch was pretty good, but I'd say the dinner menu was a little bit better. A great option for celebrating or for date night. read more

I've been here many times now and it's become one of my favorite consistent restaurants that strives for excellence and great service. Service - the staff is alway amazing, helpful, friendly, honest, and attentive. Food - lobster tempura is delicious!! - They have an Expansive brunch menu - my favorite menu item to date is the lobster avocado Benedict (my mouth is watering as I type this out). - The branzino is delicious. The skin was crisp enough, the fish was flavored exceptionally well without being overly salty. The buttery whipped potatoes bring everything together and I also enjoyed the cauliflower, corn and carrots (this may be a seasonal thing- which is great). I guessed if you have lots of leisure time, it would be fine if you are not rushed to return to work. Not sure the lunch menu is the same as the dinner, but if you like to have short ribs, steaks or scallops for lunch that will do. Price point is on a higher scales. Th octopus tostada is very different, the octopus was cooked well, and love that tangy citrus kumquats, but did not taste the black garlic aioli, The pizza made on the thin crest with good amount of mushrooms and pepperoni but a bit oily. A friend wanted to check this place out for brunch so we went. When I got there, I wanted to walk out and come back in my nicest clothes tbh. It was such a gorgeous restaurant and was unexpected on webster street. It was very airy and open inside with high ceilings. Service was quick and gave us space to catch up while we took forever to order. I got the benedict because I could never poach an egg.. lol it was good but a little on the pricier side (seems fair) This would be a lovely space for events or small get togethers. This review is long overdue! Brunch, 12102022 Made a res thinking it'll be super busy but it was really slow that day. They have parking in the back so that helps considering how limiting the parking situation is around Alameda Webster Street. Their Christmas/holiday decor was on point, it felt very festive. All of the servers were friendly and welcoming. I was hangry so we started off with the porcini brioche. When it arrived, it looked hard and it was hard... it wasn't moist at all and I honestly wouldn't recommend getting it. It was also dry so it was a bit difficult to swallow. Perhaps they made it better this time around... but be warned. I got the strawberry souffle b/c our server said it was good and so I went for it. And oh my, it was amazing! The size itself was daunting but it's so light and so good, that I literally inhaled it. My girlfriend ordered the eggs benedict and she said that it was delicious as well. We ordered a few Kir Royale to celebrate life and overall, it was an amazing brunch experience. Well worth checking out for a brunch spot in Alameda/East Bay. I very much prefer making a reservation for brunch instead of standing in line... there is too much in life to be standing and waiting for food. That's just me. read more

We were looking for a fine dinning restaurant we hadn't tried before and came across this place. We walked in, and was seated right away. Upon entering the building, we realized this was not a fine dinning restaurant. There was people in jeans, and tennis shoes. One guy was even wearing a baseball cap. The food took almost an hour to arrive, even though they weren't that busy. In between that time, there was an annoying guy they hired to follow the staff around and filming guest with a movie camera. You can tell that a few of the waiters were also annoyed by it as well. My loster was over cooked, and my steak was alright. AMAZING! Super excited to come to Ceron Kitchen to celebrate a special occasion. The place is very chic- the outside of the building gave me kind of a Master kitchen sort of vibe lol. The lighting inside is very romantic but you can still see your food- which is important Everyone was very friendly and professional at Ceron Kitchen. However, Jenna was the one who took care of us and she was awesome! Very helpful in giving recommendations and was constantly checking in to make sure that we were having a good time. Now, food- all the dishes came out fast. We are both very fast eaters (plus we were starving) so we usually inhale our food whilst whispering to each other "this is sooo goooood". But, somehow, with our eating speed, we didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes in between dishes and ALL dishes were HOT & delicious. Calamari- fresh & crispy, the aioli that came with it was delicious as well. However, the Brussels sprouts that were in there with the calamari was the star. I honestly would order just the Brussels sprouts next time if it's on the menu. Crab ravioli- best dish of the night, 100/10! Beautiful plating, fresh crab, al dente pasta, the crunchy texture from breadcrumbs and the citrus note in the sauce- it's to die for. I already want to eat it again. Duck breast with mushroom risotto- overall a little bit salty and the duck fat wasn't rendered all the way so there was a bit of the chewy fat under the duck skin. I've been wanting to try this place for so long and I so wanted to like this place - but unfortunately it was a one and done for me. The decor is beautiful. The bar area is brightly lit but the main dining room has cheesecake factory lighting. My friend and I were seated at a booth. For apps - we ordered: Sea Urchin Buttermilk chive biscuits The apps were probably the best things served. The uni was a tad expensive for a single piece of top of a puff pastry but it was delicious and the biscuits were soft and flaky. Based on how strong the apps were, had high hopes for the rest of the meal. Then came what was titled "Roasted Pumpkin" - it's probably my fault for not realizing it was a salad. The crispy pancetta was the best thing on the plate. So savory and crunchy. There weren't very many pieces of pumpkin and it was definitely more steamed and mushy than roasted and crispy. I was expecting a different texture and the pumpkin was scarce. Most of the plate was baby kale - which I'm not a fan of. Definitely a pass. Mains ordered: Duck breast Pork chop Then came the mains - they looked beautiful. The pork chop looked delectable. It was a big piece of chop on a plate. The duck looked equally beautiful served on a plate on potatoes. I specifically requested my pork chop medium and duck medium rare. (The server had written it down) What actually came when I cut into my pork chop was... Pretty much well done. I normally love fancy restaurant pork chops because they're cooked to a juicy tender perfection and this definitely missed the mark. It was tough and chewy and so hard to cut into and bite. I couldn't force myself to eat it. The outside had a nice flavor but a majority of the meat was flavorless. The sides on the plate were a weird mixture of pumpkin gnocchi (pass - mushy and gross) and daikon (flavorless). The duck was slightly better but was cooked to more of a medium well / medium than the medium rare I asked for / enjoy. I ate it but there was only 4 tiny slices of duck for a $42 entree. Most of the plate was potato mash and ravioli (which I didn't have any because I don't like ravioli) - between the duck and the pork chop, id definitely choose the duck but there really wasn't much there. My friend enjoyed her cocktails but for $17 a pop, they were fairly tiny. Overall - really expensive meal for pretty underwhelming food. read more

Came here for brunch today! We had reservations but really did not need them - this is a HUGE space that is absolutely gorgeous. Definitely has RH type vibes in terms of trying to be a more upscale restaurant. There were 6 of us for my friend's birthday. They have a full bar so we ordered an array of cocktails. The server was very nice, prompt and friendly. Though again it was very slow. I ordered the lobster Benedict which while it needed a bit of salt was overall very good. It also has avocado on it. The eggs were perfectly poached and the lobster was tender and plentiful (though could have used a bit of buttery ;)). The breakfast potatoes were also solid - came out pretty crispy despite me not asking for it! Everyone else seemed to like their dishes as well. In terms of Alameda restaurants, this was solid. 11/10 Food was stellar. Drinks were works of art. Will definitely be back. We started with the biscuits (DO NOT SKIP), the seafood chowder and the gnocchi. Each one was absolutely perfect and delicious. My only complaint is that I can't buy a duffle bag full of those biscuits and honey butter! Omg will crave forever. For entrees we did the filet and the papardelle frutti di mare. The green peppercorn sauce on the filet was delicious adding a perfect bite and spice. The filet itself was a beautiful cut with a perfect char and chew. The potato puree and asparagus were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The main star here tonight though was the papardelle. Not even the dish as a whole (which was fantastic and outperformed any cioppino we've ever had) but the noodles themselves are INSANELY delicious and perfectly prepared! I already can't wait to get the bolognese next time we come. We had a series of drinks during our visit, and they were all stellar. I did 2 rounds of the El Sueno, which is dangerously delicious, we also did the very sexy martini, between the sheets, and a bit of tongue. These cocktails were each expertly crafted, perfectly balanced and absolutely chuggable. Bring me a pitcher of sleep, chef! We really love our experience at Ceron tonight. Spent almost 4 hours at one of the booths. Service was perfect: attentive, prompt, and paced leisurely according to our group's conversation/mood. The food was delicious: the butcher board with the different pate and terrine accompanied by biscuit and crostini were generously portioned and tasty. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked. The seafood linguine was tasty. The best part was the drinks...all of the cocktails were very pretty and tasty. The venue is beautiful and the background music was fun. Got treated to this place for my birthday, and it didn't disappoint in food, ambiance, and service. This place looks sleek and like a renovated home. I loved the open layout and seating options (which includes space for strollers). They also have a covered outdoor area, which is nice, and heated seating out front, for those blustery winter nights. We started with drinks (old fashioned and another one I can't remember, but that came in a pretty cool glass and had mezcal). We then moved on appetizers: the ahi tuna and the biscuits, which were amazing! I love that the portions are what they are, which allows me to indulge without feeling too guilty! The flavors are absolutely amazing! I got the scallops as a main, and my partner got the ribeye. Both cooked to perfection. We got dessert as well, which was the Paris Brest (not sure about the name, but that dessert was everything!) Then we had dessert after the dessert (a petit macaroon and mini cake). It was cutest and tastiest! I'm glad that was all that was offered, because I was pretty stuffed and couldn't take in anymore food, but also wouldn't resist if offered. This is a great little spot down the street from my in-laws. They definitely overhauled the interior from the prior business and put a more upscale spin on the decor. This can also be felt in the food offerings as well as the service from their attentive staff. We came here with a party of 5 which gave us the opportunity to try a number of dishes, includes a variety or appetizers. Some of our favorites included the oysters which included a great hint of citrus. The biscuits were also great but we would've liked a larger portion. The other highlight was the octopus tostada which included a nice contrast between the avocado mouse and the pickled mango. The one thing we could've passed on were the wagyu sliders. They were ok but in comparison to the other options they're a definite pass. On my next visit I'll definitely try the clam chowder. We had two orders at the table and both people raved about it. For my main I went with the branzino. The skin was nice and crispy while the mean was still perfectly cooked and flaky. I would definitely recommend this one for anyone in the mood for fish. There were a couple different steaks ordered at our table and both of those were a hit. I may need to try one of those on my next visit. Btw the parking options in this area aren't great overall but they do have their own parking lot which is a huge plus. read more

Walk by this place a lot and finally came to visit for a Saturday lunch with a party of 8. Our friend easily made a reservation and added a last minute friend. Arrived to a fairly empty, large, & beautiful space. I actually love how not crowded nor loud the place is. We were able to have a very pleasant catch up session and everyone enjoyed their dish. Appreciated the aesthetics down to the utensils! I ordered the steak and eggs medium rare with sunny side up eggs. No complaints here, my steak was cooked as requested and delicious. The dish also came with an almond cinnamon chef pastry that reminded me of a coffee crunch like dessert. Loved that you got a bit of savory and sweet, felt like a complete meal. We skipped dessert but honestly I can't wait to come back here and try more dishes. We parked on the street fairly easily on a Saturday morning at 11 am. It looks like there's a private lot on the side but the gate wasn't open so not sure if it's part of the restaurant or not. I would definitely consider this spot for large parties. read more

Gala, the bartender was extra sweet and attentive. It was a little slow for a Saturday night, but my friend and I got great service because of it. We love sitting at the bar to have cocktails and to dine because we get to chat with the bartenders. We started off with the Kumamoto oysters which were tasty! Not like the other ones I've tried, but still pretty delicious. And on the bigger side. More medium than small. I'm used to the smaller ones that are packed with flavor. We also shared the king crab ravioli which was amazing! That was finished rather quickly lol Next I ordered the pork chop, and my friend had the Lobster Fettucine. Both were incredible. The only thing about the pork chop was that it was so enormous that it was quite difficult to cut through, but the flavors were an absolute hit. So I decided to stop in the spot after church. I will say that the ambience is very nice. The spot is overpriced. I got the French toast and the potatoes and eggs. The potatoes were good The food is cool but like I said it's very high priced but the ambience is nice but it's a little overpriced. Of course it wasn't a lot of people in there and it might be because it's overpriced. They probably should bring their prices down just a little bit if they bring their prices down, they just may pack the place out. A little bit more was nice. I came in here by myself, and when I came in there by myself, the hostess, she looked like she was a little bit shocked. I don't know. People sometimes seem a little shock when they see you walk into restaurants by yourself to eat but America needs to get used to people eating by themselves. read more

It was very quiet when I arrived to this gorgeous restaurant, formerly Otaez, Gorgeous indoor seating but because the weather was so nice, asked for a shaded table outside. A large parking lot in the back of Ceron. We shared the octopus tostada and it was to die for. Pieces of octopus mixed with citrus, radishes, avocado -- it was a delicate explosion of flavors in each bite. My chicken Marsala was very tasty and tender. The Marsala sauce covered the plate. Pretty rich so indulge delicately. My friend loved her porcini ravioli which was also flavorful. The Paris Brest dessert was a culmination to the lunch. A crunchy pastry with hazelnuts and the salted caramel gelato. Yummy! We were also presented with caramels when our bill was delivered. Omg. Those were yummy as well. Came here for brunch on a Sunday around 11am. It was not too busy and we were able to bring our dog in the outside seating patio which is actually now covered to keep things warm and quiet! Upon walking in the restaurant has a clean and modern interior. You can tell it's new and that they are trying to bring a more upscale feeling for service and ambience. Service from Jesus was excellent and very accommodating for our questions. The table shared the calamari which was crispy and delicious! The sauce also had a nice kick to it. Definitely get it. I ordered the berry soufflé and a side of eggs and bacon. I will say the menu did not have many brunch options that I personally found to meet my preferences for breakfast/brunch which I like a balance of both sweet and savory. That's why I ordered the pancake and some side proteins. The soufflé was perfectly airy, custardy, and had great textures. The only thing I wish it had was some whip cream on top preferably cold to add some more contrast in temperature and texture. The bacon and eggs came with some potatoes and an apple scone that had some cinnamon in it. It was all fresh and delicious - but I did think everything required a little bit more salt. Overall I would come back here again and hope that they expand their brunch menu a bit more. The service was really great and I love the vibe. Came by for dinner the other night and it was a mediocre experience. Made a reservation online and our table was ready upon arrival. All staff wore masks properly both front and back of the house. Staff wore an apron that was part of the uniform that seemed to be needing some ironing... Both indoor and patio seating were available. The interior of the restaurant was extravagant although merely at 10-20% capacity on a Sunday evening. Service throughout the meal was fine. The highlight of the meal were the appetizers. The calamari fritto was excellent being super fresh, lightly breaded, fried, and had a few pieces of brussels sprouts. The octopus tostada was also tasty with a crispy tostada shell, perfectly cooked octopus slices, avocado mousse, and seaweed. This was a touch pricey at $17 though. For the main course the short rib was merely mediocre. The short rib was on the lean side and the wine reduction sauce was on the bolder side. The short rib was well done... The duck breast entrée was also mediocre with the duck breast being cooked to a medium well... The salt levels were uneven with this dish. The porcini mushroom ravioli was good, although it seemed to have been made perhaps a day or two ago. The dish attempted to be presented well with flower petals, except that they were randomly placed over the dish?!? Ended off the meal with the Paris Brest which was also lackluster. The pastry shell was served cool and the cream on the inside was a smaller portion. The caramel over the ice cream was a touch elementary... ~$85/head after tax and gratuity for dinner. read more

We went here for a friend's birthday, which seemed to be very common. The atmosphere is enchanting with beautiful holiday decor. Staff was friendly but they changed server mid meal which was a little confusing. One nice thing was they gave us each a complimentary glass of Prosecco before our main course for the birthday party. We started with the Calamari - nice and crispy outside but very salty, inside a bit chewy. We shared 2 salads- beet salad was delicious , crunchy candied walnuts and blue cheese. Wedged salad was also good, with avocado balls and hb eggs We ordered several entrees - Ribeye w/ potato; Tortellini with filet chunks and Rack of lamb with asparagus risotto. All meats were tender & cooked perfectly. The risotto tasted good but I didn't realize it was purée asparagus, as I expected a risotto with chunks of asparagus. Still flavorful and creamy however. Dessert was a delicious Crème brûlée (and I'm a brûlée snob) and a yummy Birthday Sundae. Overall a delicious meal. We live in the neighborhood and have frequented Ceron the last few years for a nice meal out. We went today for Mother's Day brunch and the quality was sooooo bad compared to what we are used to. We got the lobster roll and the crab Benedict and the lobster roll was different bread than we were used to and the quality was terrible of the lobster. The crab Benedict had little tiny coins in place of the normal large crab cakes. If they changed the menu for Mothers Day it was a disservice to all us moms who came there to enjoy a good meal, if this is just the status quo now I'm bummed cause we won't be back. This place has potential, but unfortunately most dishes are overpriced. Ingredients are fresh but portion size leaves much to be desired. Service was decent. Ambiance is beautiful. Pancakes were delish but quite small for a $14 dish. Crab omelette ($28) had very nice tasting and fresh crab, but when I opened the omelette, there were a few pieces :( The short rib tortellini ($35!!) felt seriously overpriced. While the sauce was delicious, the pieces of meat were very few and the cheese in the tortellini was so so. Bloody Mary ($17) was nice but not sure if it's $17 good lol. Most of the reviews I see for Ceron Kitchen are for dinner, so it's good to know their brunches are quite good as well. Just remember to bring your wallet, as it's pretty expensive for what you get. We had a party of 6, so I figured with such a large group, we would need reservations in the morning. But that's not necessary--you can just walk in, as there's plenty of room. Dinner may be different, so your mileage may vary. We were greeted by a very nice host and shortly after by our very attentive waiter, who seemed to be about to head back to college. The restaurant itself is very well appointed--very Restoration Hardware, but more black, gray, and white than brown and beige. I can see why one might want to wear their Sunday best when dining at Ceron. They have a nice brunch menu, but brunch being brunch, we had to start off with some Bloody Marys. I don't recall the exact price, but they were closer to $20 than $15. They were also very well prepared by the bar. For food, I selected the Chorizo Omelette ($21). Others ordered the Avocado Benedict ($20) and Steak & Eggs ($34). All were good, but I personally couldn't help but feel that I wanted a bit more for the prices we paid. Overall, our party very much enjoyed our experience at Ceron, but I would probably look elsewhere for some more bang for my buck. read more

The restaurant hits the nail on the head in many areas: Ambiance, service, exciting menu, and vibes. It's been a pleasure to come here and run through the options, order a drink or two, and dig into the excellent food options in an upscale spot that prides itself on wonderful service while feeling relaxed enough to dine at without a strict requirement of dressing up. (Note: The servers are all dressed well in black suits, so smart casual might be the call here.) The food is interesting and delicious, served in notably beautiful plates and bowls. I do think the dishes can lean a bit towards saltier than I prefer, but it's not preventing my husband and me from coming back here again and again in the future. From their wedge salad to their papardelle bolognese pasta, I have loved everything to the last bite. I have no doubt Ceron will become immensely popular in due time, so we're savoring the easy reservations for now! read more

After seeing this place pop up on Alameda, my partner and I knew we had to try it. He made dinner reservations for the two of us to celebrate my birthday on a Sunday night. I was immediately impressed with the attention to detail in regards to the interior design choices and decor elements. Everything in the restaurant is matte black contrasted with shiny copper highlights, right down to their water pitches, bathroom sink faucets, flatware, table lamps, and ceiling. So modern and sleek. The service was phenomenal. Our server, Jesús was incredibly attentive to our table, and made welcomed small-talk without smothering us. Between courses, I dropped my napkin onto my feet while standing up to go to the bathroom. Although I picked it up and placed it back onto the tabletop, Jesús was there with a fresh one to replace it before I could even leave the table. No other restaurant on the island offers this level of service. The flatware and plates were also exchanged between courses, and we were offered extra plates so that we could share our main courses. Ceron Kitchen's level of service was nearly on-par to the experiences we have had at restaurants with Michelin stars. It wasn't that busy inside the restaurant, so I'd be interested to see if this level of attentiveness diminishes if it were closer to full-capacity. We tried: COCKTAILS El Sueño: -berry + lemongrass + sugar rim = so dreamy *our favorite! Hot new restaurant alert! My coworker sis Nina S. shared a tasty American resto has taken over the former Otaez Mexican restaurant. They did a nice job renovating the huge space! We went for brunch at 10am on a Sunday and I was impressed with what they had done. There was plenty of tasteful indoor seating, an inviting vibrant bar and a cozy outdoor patio. Hostess and waitress were very nice and recommended delicious options. -Peach Bellini $13- crisp bubbly start of the meal. -Fried calamari $16 - the real deal- crispy and savory on the outside and tender rings and tentacles. It also came with a smattering of fried shishito peppers and brussels sprouts. Very tasty! -Strawberry Soufflé pancake $18- takes 15-20 min so order early if you want it as your main. Light, fluffy texture dotted with sliced strawberries and came with maple syrup. Bill was steep but you get what you pay for in terms of quality, ambiance and taste. We had a nice new job and birthdays celebratory dinner here with friends last month. They have parking in the back but we found a spot right in front. This place is very spacious. Lighting is a bit dim. We ordered: Complimentary amuse bouche: 3/5 it was some sort of bisque. Super buttery. Clam chowder: 3.5/5 if you like fancy clam chowder this is it. Taste wise it was ok. I prefer the chowder I get in HMB and Monterey. Spanish octopus cheviche: hubby liked it. I didn't taste this. Chop salad: 3/5 messy presentation, skip this. Hamachi: 4/5 fresh fish, nicely presented. Pork chop: 3.5/5 this was average. I would order the main dishes below instead. Flat iron steak: 5/5 nice and tender. This was really good. Short ribs: 3/5 super sweet... Spanish branzino: 5/5 this was the main dish that I will remember this place for. Fish has a nice crispy crust and great taste. Highly recommend this one. Prosciutto arugula Pizza: 2/5 crust tasted like cardboard. Totally my bad for order pizza at a place like this. Pepperoni and mushroom pizza: kids ate this. Cheesecake: took this to go. Should have enjoy it there but at that point we wanted to get going. Bottom line: nice fancy spot good to celebrate an event or for a romantic date. -2 stars for ambience. We came here on a Sunday night and to our surprise it wasn't busy at all on a holiday weekend. The restaurant had on their recessed lighting which made it too bright and not cozy -1. The music choice was not well thought out. The theme seemed like a depressive break up playlist. They even played the song thats tagged onto every donation commercial you can think of -1. It was Valentine's Day weekend and love was not in there air. Who hurt you? The food was good for the most part. The be thing that didn't come out as requested was a medium filet. It came out more on the rare side, but luckily for us, we're also okay with that. The service just seemed subpar for an upper scale restaurant. The lamb chops came out perfectly and did not taste gamey at all which was nice. Probably wouldn't come back based on the ambience alone. It did not feel romantic, cozy or inviting. Please change the playlist or have a specialist curate a playlist that's more fitting for the restaurant. read more

I had been wanting to visit Ceron Kitchen since it opened last year and finally got around to it. We went to celebrate my wife's birthday without the kids and had a great dinner. Service was excellent as was the food. Between my wife and I we had oysters, buttermilk chive biscuits, seafood chowder, scallops & Octopus, and Duck Breast. My wife also had an excellent Pinot noir from Santa Maria Valley which I'm told is their most popular wine. We finished the meal with crème brûlée which was topped with a sparkler for my wife's birthday. A true gem for the Alameda dining scene. read more
