This is a great local place to purchase authentic ceramics in Florence. The owner's family has owned the location for years and he is the artist and also uses local artists to paint. Ceramiica Ricceri has some the most beautiful hand painted pieces you will find in Italy. My wife and I have bought several items from this shop the last two times we were in Florence. Luca Ricceri is absolutely amazing and his shop is spectacular! He speaks very good English and provides outstanding customer service. His shop is a must stop when you are in Florence. I highly recommend this store. The owner spoke English fluently. His wares were beautiful, all made locally. Each piece is signed by the craftsman who made it. Awesome! We bought three serving dishes plus four expresso cups for a reasonable price. While all that is good, what impressed me to write this review was how well he packaged everything to ship the goods to the US. Each piece was individually bubble-wrapped. Items that were placed next to other items had a piece of cardboard between them. Then the entire group was bubble-wrapped. Nothing could move, shift or rattle. All that was placed in a box with spray foam on all six sides. The spray foam was in plastic, too. The foam conformed to the shape of the ceramics (and the box, obviously) so it formed a cohesive unit. You could not ask for a better packing job. Nothing shook, nothing rattled. We received the goods in perfect condition. Well done. read more

This family owned and operated shop is a sweet find. Ceramics for kitchen and home are all made by hand, hand painted, and all are dishwasher safe. None of the items - even the decorative ones - are made with lead. Luca, the owner and salesman behind the counter, explained to me that if you use lead on even one piece everything in the kiln is contaminated. Therefore, all pieces are lead free. The designs run the continuum from the Medici to modern day. If you want something particular that you don't see in the small shop, they are happy to create what you need, and ship to you upon completion. I've selected items and had them shipped for the last few years. Each time, everything arrived in perfect condition. I can't seem to resist getting something every year. To be sure, there are other nice shops for ceramics in Florence. For me, this one is the best. At least check it out before you make your ceramic purchases whilst in Florence! read more
