I wasn't fucking around so GF and I schlepped the 20+ minute walk over to this place from the city's center. It's small and unassuming which is part of its charm. We arrived literally in the nick of time because there were a few tables left, one of which we were able to snag immediately after placing our order. As we were finishing up, the place had become a bustling mad house and there was already a queue waiting for our table. I LOVE the fact that this place offers vegetarian and vegan options of which GF and I took full advantage. I ordered one of their vegan offerings with zucchini, eggplant, cherry tomatoes, and hummus. This was super hearty and I loved how full of veggies it was but they were a little heavy on the olive oil which is probably standard fare for Italians. For me, it was too much. GF ordered a vegetarian piada with mushrooms, zucchini, and cheese. She says it "was amazing" and that she "really enjoyed it". They have a million other variations depending on your preferences and prices are super reasonable.

I'm a bit disappointed by this place, i had very high expectations based on the stellar reviews. Service was pretty quick, maybe due to the pre-sliced meats actually, but the prosciutto crudo in both the piadina we got was tough, and not soft to the bite as it should be. It was very difficult to eat, because you got a big chunk of prosciutto at every bite due to its toughness. The piadina were filled generously and looked great. So many good things about this place, but finally my eating experience was sub optimal. I don't think I'll be back.

We started with a Borge Molina Prosecco. A bit sweet but with strong fruit. Pasta e Fagioli - stock with unctuous mouth feel. We inhaled it. 1/2 litro of a Lombardy red. €11. OK. Risotto Saliccia- best risotto in my life. Al dente, rich taste. Delicious. Apple pie and cheesecake with chocolate frosting. Both were very good. Coffee and grappa baricata. + wines are very reasonably priced + menu in Italiano only ! + warm atmosphere - paper napkins of high quality - Rostfrei flatware - no business cards for the restaurant. "Not today, maybe tomorrow." €79 for dinner for two.

We were walking towards…read moreBrera and got captivated by the Liberty style and the vibrant colors (red walls anyone??). Not sure what's the reference to the poets in the name, but one theme is clear: you're going to feel like you're in Emilia, savoring very regional dishes, the way a grandma would cook them. The piadina starter is a must, so much so that you might end up ordering it even when the menu states something else. Apparently whatever you see on the starters page comes with the piadina, which you might or might not have in mind to order, but surely won't regret. It's fantastic, and the wild boar salame you can accompany it with is just an excuse to get more. "Oh, it comes with more piadina? Oh well." My biggest thumb-up is the generous use of "formaggio di fossa", which I had on a "cartoccio" of sausages and other veggies. It's so good that you have to pretend you know what it is and just go for it. In case you don't, Wiki says that "the cheese typically matures around 30 days before being placed in the "fossa", a pit dug into the ground and lined with straw". I could definitely taste that... Other tables ordered an equally appealing cotoletta, my sense is that you'll be in good shape whatever you order, having the foresight to leave some room for the hom-made desserts on display. The service was friendly, but I wouldn't say it was faster than the average Italian restaurants. Ok, pretty slow. But the place was full (always a good sign) and we were still treated like kings. Surprisingly enough we could even pay with an Amex, while the vibe is really that of a cash-only place. Yet another reason to go back.
