This cute little corner spot has a lot of Yelp buzz, so it became a quick and Argentine-early…read moredinner (I'm home by 9). To start, I tried two empanadas. The criollo picante (spicy Creole style beef) wasn't particularly spicy or Creole. Blame Argentinian palates. The arabe (beef, onion, tomato?, spices, served with a lemon) doesn't even look like an empanada, not to mention it's got a lot of appt inside that bready exterior. That one was more consistent in content so I judge it the champion.
Then came the locro. It's a bit salty for my taste, and there was more fat than meat. By a landslide. There were also bones. So a minus for meat but a plus for that wonderful choclo. Also, the place is a pretty decent value to fill you up for under $10 with tip (even with a beverage). It's a good stop for a quick bite for any meal of the day.
