We went here for the first time to see "Nunsense!" This is a beautiful old mansion in the city. Parking is either street parking or we opted for the $5 valet. Totally worth it! They have the show in a big room off to the side. It only seats about 80 people or so. Very intimate setting but comfortable. There's a coat "room" so no need to hang your coat on your chair. They also offer a free glass of champagne with a VIP ticket purchase, but a cash bar is also available. Pleasantly surprised and had a great time at the show. Will definitely go back. read more

Century Club - Rochester, New York

I wish I had taken better pictures while I was here. The century club is an old building downtown were folks can host events. I was here for a recent community update by the children's Institute. I think it's actually home to a women's social club? They've recently started using the space for local theater productions. The building is really beautiful and I'm interested to see how they do different things given how the space is broken up. Parking is always a pain in this part of town but there's a medium sized lot behind the Strathallan across the street. read more

Century Club - Children's Institute, Community Update - Rochester, New York

I have been here a few times for different events, this is/was the Vogt Mansion and it became The Century Club and it was a private club/organization. I've been here for a cocktail party, women's event and finally for a Holiday Dinner and Meeting. As far as I know the StrathAllen Hotel next door I believe runs this spot. Since this was a private home it still has some of the charms and the grand staircase in the foyer. The main room for dinner can seat I'm guessing between 80-100. They do valet but it can get crowded if it's a large group coming be aware. They have a place to put your coat but no coat room person to take your coat. I think that would be a nice touch. The food was actually pretty tasty. Turkey Breast, different pastas, salads and appetizer that was passed. This was a buffet not a sit down dinner but I am sure they can accommodate anyone. It pretty much covered everyone food wise. The only comment I heard was "it's to carb heavy" oh get over it..it's the holidays. Every time I've been here it's an open bar wine $9, mixed drinks $7 and beer $5. It's a great room/area to mix and mingle and lots to see. The only issue is it can get a little warm (I was just here in December and we had to ask to turn down the heat) everyone was hitting the staff for water lots of water to hydrate. We're all dressed up do you wanna overheat no you don't. But all in all it's a lovely place and I am sure with the right wedding/event planner and florist this place can be transformed.
