I am a…read moresixty two year old woman who went to Shanti-Som to heal my heart. Instead I got a vascular brain injury. Shanti-Som's unprofessional therapist squeezed my head with force multiple times over my ears (the thinnest part of the skull and gets thinner as one ages) She felt it was necessary for a "body drainage" massage--which I was told would be gentle. I had severe head pain that very night. The next day of check out, head pain persisted and continued daily during my entire trip in Spain--ruining my one trip a year. Yes, there are arteries in the skull. I didn't know either but a "professional" therapist would!
I reported this to Shanti-Som immediately and those hugs and warm smiles stopped in their tracks. There is no Buddhism there, just greed. They took no responsibility and continue to fight me. Outrageous! I wrote a Hoja de Reclamaciones ( Spanish consumer complaint) and they replied with fabrications, lies and refuse arbitration. I came back to the U.S. and had to undergo a MRI of my brain, a TCD and several doctor appointments that continue to cause me more grief and debt. I am a candidate now for a seizure or stroke! The doctors can only offer me prescription drugs at this time. All because I trusted Shanti Som. This resort needs to be heavily sanctioned or closed. Don't be a fool and trust them. And do not believe their erroneous response to this truth, which I am sure they will write. Go anywhere else where they hire professionals and are responsible human beings.
