While researching for my trip, I had read about Érico, a chocolate history museum on one side and a…read moredessert shop on the other. I had made a note of it, but had not thought of it as a definite stop during my visit. However, I happened to be walking down the Rue Saint-Jean when I happened to come upon it. I walked inside and was the only patron there, though it was around 10:30 in the morning at the time. I took a quick glance around the museum, but spent the bulk of my time in the store, which offered chocolate confections of all sorts, as well as pastries and gelato. I really wanted to try something, but it was so early in the morning. I also did not want to carry anything around with me all day. So, I ordered a singular Baileys Truffle that I ate immediately. The milk chocolate coated nugget was rich, creamy, and packed with Irish cream flavor. Often times, alcohol-infused chocolates do not have much potency, but that one packed a kick.
I enjoyed my quick stop at Érico, but would definitely need to go back to try additional items.
