Center for Youth Social Services. That's what this place loosely translates to. Didn't go there for their professional work/school/after-school activities help offered for "kids/teenagers/youths."
Instead, went for their running track. Why? Because teenager cousin is a runner and had to keep in practice. She happened to spy the track (and its soccer field and tennis courts PLUS basketball court) when we were in the area visiting Eiffel Tower/Champs de Mars. *If you exit from Metro/Bir Hakeim, you pass CIDJ on the right while walking East to get to the Eiffel Tower, etc.
Cousin says track is 1/4 mile +/-, okay for her purposes in keeping time, etc. Went there on a Wednesday, walked inside rec side of building, asked if we had to pay to use track. Two guys in ticket booth said no. *There's a swimming pool, which you do have to pay to use. Not sure how much.
After running, the kid also managed to do some shoot-outs with a local teenager who got there to practice le foot. All the other kids there were elementary aged, separated by gender in their sports efforts. Seriously, little boys were on the soccer field, little girls were on the tennis court. (Cute and European in their non co-ed fashion.)
Overall, facility was tidy and restrooms were clean. Staff were friendly in answering questions and giving directions.
FR- Pas mal pour 1 Centre d'Information et de documentation jeunesse. Beaucoup des gosses, services avec sourires. :] read more
