As I turned on to Jackson Ave I was greatly relieved when I saw an arrow that lead me to a parking garage. I was already 3 minutes late and I didn't have to drive around looking for a place to park because One Parking came through for me. I really loved how the sign used for advertisement brung awareness to this parking garage as it was very noticable and properly placed, giving searchers time to react to the notification. I went in parked, whip, bam, boom. Just like that, within 30 seconds I was headed over to the event. No hassle, no fuss. I told the attendant I'd be about 1.5 hours, he says $21 up to 2 hours. After the event I came back to pick up my care, I saw it parked in an easy to reach spot. I went to the attendant area, within 1 minute, I was on my merry way. Now, why did I say Merry Way! Once I pulled into the garage I used the code to check in and was told that I could pick the car up on the last day of my trip because I reserved the space and if I wanted to take the car out during the time I was visiting, it would charge me for the full price of the booking and I would have to pay again to park it and basically restart my reservation. That was my only option other than Uber. I emailed customer service and they basically responded that I should have known that none of their sites in NYC offer in and out privileges since it wasn't labeled on their website. Such a frustrating experience and customer service from the actual location was very poor since the clerk told me that nothing could be done after he scanned the code.

Three days after buying the spot, someone I had never seen before saw me coming from two blocks away and had my car ready by the time I was at the gate. As I said at the time, "Who knew a parking lot could have good customer service?" Their employees are all nice, they always get my car up for me quickly when I call, and there's never been an issue with damage or theft or anything like that. A monthly spot is $210. My car has been damaged multiple times by the attendants and it was a battle to get the garage to send the car out to the shop to get fixed (3 months plus for one of the incidents). I actually witnessed one of the attendants clip the curb and damage my rim pulling out my car one morning and still had issues convincing them that they caused the damages. In addition, when I scheduled a specific pickup time with ICON's auto body shop to finally repair my car, they picked the car up early without notification and I was left car-less. I've also had muddy shoe prints on my passenger seat too (they climb through car windows when they are parked too closely to open the doors). Similar to Ray's comment below, my rate has increased several times while parking at this location (without any notification from the garage). It just appears on my monthly invoice. I have reached out to ICON several times for an explanation but have received NO response. My car is rarely ready for pickup even though I text in my pickup time well in advance. Sometimes I'm left standing for 15-20 minutes just waiting for an attendant to appear since the garage isn't properly staffed. The attendants have told me on multiple occasions to leave my car out front running since they are busy (sounds safe!) The best of them all was when I went to park my car last weekend on Monday morning and the garage was closed (despite being a 24 hour location)! I was forced to park on the street illegally. I reached out to ICON regarding this and have gotten NO response. Horrible company. They know you have no other choice but to park with them because they are a monopoly - so they really don't care about customer service.

Of course I didn't notice when leaving the garage because the door was unlocked, so I can't even file a claim against them. This is going to cost me at least 300 to fix. How the F do you break a car lock? It is as if they had the wrong key and were just jamming it in there until it broke. 2) I was a monthly customer. In the summer of 2016 they jacked up the rate a few bucks, and then they jacked it up again in December. They had the audacity to blame this on NYS increased minimum wage, and to list this surcharge separately on the bill. This company is making plenty of money - they can afford to take a haircut. They literally raised the rate 40% in 6 months. 3) The garage was under-staffed during the week and if you came back late at night, you'd have to ring a buzzer and wait around for one of the building staff to come down and park your car. There is literally no one working here at night yet they advertise it as being open 24 hours. 4) don't get me started on all the scratches I found on my car... Basically I did the math and realize that even if I get a parking ticket every week, or someone breaks into my car once a month, I'd still be saving money. If I park in another neighborhood and taxi to my car, I'm still saving money. Every subway that runs through Queens runs within a few blocks of this garage. you could literally park anywhere in north queens, take the train to and from your car, and save $350 a month + random damage bills.
