Central Oregon towing came and got my car out of Rays parking lot after I was refused service through the company that's contracted with Triple-A who said that they were only going to help local people yesterday so my problem with that was not only that I was stuck in Rays parking lot wondering what the heck I was going to do. I am a local person and I needed help. I am so grateful central Oregon towing was contacted and they were there at my car within 15 minutes, had it loaded before I even left the parking lot. Thank you Central Oregon Towing, I did not catch the name of the driver but he was kind and reassuring and made a stressful situation a lot better. Central Oregon Towing was not helpful and left me stranded. My car broke down on Hwy 97 north of LaPine. I called my insurance company for a tow and they contacted Central Oregon Towing. 1.5 hours later they showed up with a flat bed. My battery was dead because the serpentine belt broke, this left me unable to put it in neutral when they arrived to tow it. The driver said that he needed to get a dolly to tow my all wheel drive. He said he was unable to load it on his flat bed. He said the shop was only 5 minutes away and he would be back. This was at 4:15 pm. At 5:25 I called my insurance company asked about the ETA. They said Central Oregon Towing canceled the job. They did not bother to contact me (we had previously been in contact) or return to let me know they didn't have another truck. It was dark, cold 33 degrees, I had no working battery for the heater and my hazards didn't work with a dead battery. I couldn't even get to my flare because the back door was not able to open with the auto locks frozen. Luckily for me American Towing came to my rescue! I explained not being able to put it in neutral and he said no problem. He put a charger on my battery to put it into neutral and had my car on his flat bed in minutes. This was at 6:30 pm. It was very incompetent of Central Oregon Towing and not even considerate of a single woman stranded on the side of the road in a dangerous situation. I filed a complaint with my insurance company against them hoping other stranded motorists won't have to go through a similar situation. Save your time. Call American Towing! read more
