I've been here for basketball games before and most recently, this was the host for the GIAC tournament that happened on Valentine's Day. The first game for us was at 10am and if we won, the championship game was at 2pm. The parking lot for this school is very small making it challenging. The school is across the street from a church which I noticed overflow parking there and also people parked on the street. They don't have a label on the doors for the gym entrance, so I just followed the flow of people going inside. The concession stand is right after the entrance and then the gym is on the right. The cost of admission was $5 for me and $3 for my son (student discount). They take card and cash for admission. They did not have a printout sheet of the teams with player names for this tournament. It's a small gym, and seating is limited to two sides of the gym. Restrooms were upstairs because the teams were using the downstairs restrooms as their locker rooms. You can use card or cash to purchase items from concessions. My son tried to purchase hotdogs for us, but they said it wasn't ready, so I got a can of coke and he got a Hersey bar for $3. I also purchased a cookie which was $3 that I found out was another business selling them here. My son went back after some time to get a hotdog, and it was $2. He asked if they were beef and they told him yes. My son's team made it to the championship game, and since we had plenty of time in between games, I left the building to run some errands. The lady taking money for admissions had us write our names down so we didn't have to repay to get back in. When we came back for the championship game, a loose dog was following my son and I to the gym. We were nervous at first, but it didn't seem like it was going to harm us. Knowing where we were going, the dog waited by the door, so I thought maybe his owner was inside. The dog came inside, ran on the court, and everyone looked shocked, and I asked if anyone knew the owner. The athletic director came out to escort the dog back outside, stating it was a neighborhood dog and luckily it was friendly. First time that's happened to me lol. My husband was at work for the 1st game, but was able to attend the 2nd game. He purchased a hotdog from concession, but I told him it didn't look like the one our son had from earlier so he went back to ask if it was beef or pork, but they told him they didn't know, he doesn't eat pork so he asked if he could get something else. At first they were hesitant but they switched it with nachos. He was upset about it, and he said all of the cheese for the nachos was at the bottom which he didn't like. My son's team became the 2026 GIAC champs this day!!! read more

Worst school! When a teacher don't teach and let second graders take naps. Admin show NO support to teachers hardly in the building Kids who graduate are no way close to college ready. This is why you see such a turnaround in students each year, It's only a recommendation please don't take your kids there, biggest mistake I ever made. read more

Baptist Academy now known as Central Christian Academy is one of the best schools I've known. We may not offer everything everyone else does but we are a family. Someone who has anyone's backs when needed. The teachers here care about kids and will do whatever if necessary to help them. It is a wonderful Christian environment where I have been lucky to attend since 2nd grade. We have teachers who know what they are talking about and teach us not only with lectures but hands on involvement. It's a great school and I would highly recommend it! read more

I attended this school from K-5 all the way up until I graduated. Contrary to the other review that I read on this site, I had a great experience. I never had any teacher believe the sun revolved around the earth. There was no mention of the Illuminati or that I would be rounded up and put into a concentration camp because I was a Christian. As far as teachers being grabbed off of the street, I felt my teachers were great. I feel the education I received was great. If I was ever absent for more than a day the teachers always noticed. If I was absent and my parents didn't call the school to let them know, they always called our house to see what was going on. If I ever needed additional help with something (which I occasionally did) it was always available if you asked for it, and often times offered if they noticed you were struggling. There was no special treatment to athletes. They were really strict with the athletes in particular on their grades. There was also no gay bashing that I ever heard. All of the teachers were always respectful. There's a wide range of students from different backgrounds and they were all accepted there. There were definitely some gay kids at the school when I was there and they weren't treated any differently. Just to sum things up, everyone has their own opinions but I feel the previous review was just false, and trying to bash the school. I loved my school. My wife and I would definitely feel comfortable sending our future kids there. read more

I also attended Baptist Accademy since kindergarten. However I had an awesome experience unlike the prior account that was mentioned. The staff is a group of men and women dedicated to the purpose of giving students a Christian education. Every student is treated the same regardless, of sports, family type, or religious background. There have been no end of the world cospiracys ever taught in the building, contrary to what the prior writer said. The staff is verry involved in making sure students are absorbing and applying what your learning. The school stands strong in the beliefs and traditions it has supported for years. The prior person said the school bashed "TEH GAYS". The word the is spelled THE, they teach basic spelling like that in kindergarten, and never show prejudice toward any specific group of people. At the end of the day, one of my bosses went there, my family has went there, my neighbors, and people who have worked for me have even went there. If your looking for trouble, its not the school for you. If you want to learn about the world we live in and the God who controls it then Baptist Accademy is excellent choice. read more

(Galatians 3:28 KJV) My senior year (2011-2012) this was our theme. The verse we, as a Christian school, chose to live by. I learned so much about seeing the world with open eyes and opening my arms to everyone and accepting people where they are at and for who they are. I loved going to a school where I knew know matter what I would be accepted. I went to Baptist Academy for my whole life. No, I didn't love everyday there. What adolescent loves everything!? But I wouldn't trade my education and life there for anything! The memories and the relationships i made there will last me a lifetime. I learned about life and received a great education. The teachers there are loving and patient. They took the time to make sure I understood what they were teaching by offering help classes after school. Just like every school some teachers are easier to learn from based off the way you learn. But they want you to succeed so they do all they can to help you understand it. Yes, Baptist Academy is a smaller school. But that just gives every student more opportunity to get involved in extra curricular activities. They offer many sports, such as: volleyball, soccer, basketball, cheerleading, track, golf, softball, and baseball. I was involved in 4 of these activities which I know I wouldn't have been able to do all at another school. Overall, I loved my years at Baptist Academy! I would recommend anyone go there if they are looking for a good Christian education. read more
