The gym is clean with every machine you can think of. I love the fact they have a nurse evaluate you and do a full body scan, with this you can see your progress every 3 months. I loved the fact they were having a special to start with 3 training sessions. Wasn't sure if i would use them, I've worked out for 7 years I knew what i was doing right? I took a year off from working out and thought I would give trying a trainer a shot. Boy was I glad I did! I met with Kurt who was very professional he took his time with me, he took time to get to know me and personalize a routine for me. Kurt showed me equipment in the gym I never knew existed, so many new ideas and routines it was great. Kurt made going back to the gym exciting for me again. I left the gym every time excited to go back even though I was sore it's a good kinda sore. Kurt motivates you and cheers you along on some really tough moves but keeps ya going. Kurt is a huge asset to mainline if you get him as your trainer you would be very fortunate and ripped if you can afford to keep up the sessions The only downside to this gym is the training sessions are pretty $$$ for me. I wish they had smaller personal packages that were not as $$$

I came here for a month because I won a free 1-month membership through a squat competition at my…read moreworkplace. The membership included 3 personal training sessions, an hour-long nutrition consultation, and a month of unlimited classes. My 3 individual sessions were all with Darrel (sp?) who was super warm and attentive. Since this gym was close to my work, I'd go immediately after I got off every day and the 5:30 class on most nights is taught by Stephanie. She's a great coach who definitely cares about each person in the class, and makes the effort to learn names and give personal and helpful feedback. The owner Antonio is also super friendly and personable, and tries to cultivate a family atmosphere at this gym (which you can definitely feel when you walk in based on everyone's energy). I come from a Crossfit background so I'm used to the high intensity stuff. It's a little different here because a lot of the work outs are self-paced, rather than time-capped. There's also not nearly as much barbell use as I was expecting (I think mostly due to the space constraint), but you can expect a lot of bodyweight exercises. The gym is a bit small and when the weather is nice the machines get moved outside into the parking lot because there's not always enough room to accommodate everyone and the workout, but it doesn't seem like anyone minds. I look forward to seeing how this gym grows and eventually gets a bigger space to accommodate more people.

I joined BlkOps in December of 2017. Prior to joining, I was a member of the Y for years. More…read moreoften than not, I paid for the Y without actually going, and when I did actually make it there, it was only to use the treadmill--literally only the treadmill--because I was scared and intimidated and it was the only piece of equipment I knew how to use. I immediately felt at home at BlkOps. The owners, Antonio and Kelly, and their team of coaches all supported me and helped me to grow. In my 2+ years there, I have learned SO much about lifting weights, conditioning, eating nutritionally, and feeling confident in myself. Now, when I am away from home, I feel confident in writing myself a challenging and effective workout and in marching directly into a hotel gym to execute it. And I don't even touch the treadmill. On top of all that I have learned at BlkOps, I have gained some incredible friendships. Each member of the gym inspires me daily and helps make the gym feel like a home away from home. Because of these people and because of the challenging workouts that we persevere through together, going to the gym is now my favorite part of the day. I've gone from basically donating my money to the Y to working out on an almost daily basis. Oh, and also, I look a lot better now than when I first joined. If you're looking to build on your existing fitness knowledge (whether you are a complete novice like I was or whether you already have a lot of experience), if you want to be challenged daily, if you want to join an incredible community, and if you want to look and feel dramatically better, BlkOps is the gym for you!

Many of my friends are members here and face similar problems, but the Siegel JCC is still the most convenient option for them and don't have the same freedom that I have to switch gyms. The courts are often not open when the schedule says they are. Many times I have gotten kicked out of the gym several minutes before the next group is supposed to be scheduled. I have gotten hit by pickleball members with their paddles when walking across the court to the free side. The weightlifting area is often crowded, and I have been confronted multiple times while waiting in between sets that I have been "taking too long." I am very disappointed in the service I have gotten over my past few months' membership here.

We've taken several classes including the pickle ball clinic and all have been done well. The indoor pool always has lap lanes open. I'm loving that they have a steam, indoor hot tub, and sauna all in one area so you can move from one to another seamlessly. We have lately really been loving the outdoor pool. Such an upgrade and really has a neighborhood pool experience but is included in the gym price. Overall, we love it and will be members for many years to come!

MEMBERS FILMING THEMSELVES HAS GOTTEN OUT OF HANDS!…read more I'm writing this because I'm really concerned about some issues I've been having at the YMCA related to aggressive behavior and people filming on their cell phones. On September 13th, I had a horrible experience with another gym member. I was walking to the turf area to do walking lunges when I accidentally walked past a member's phone that was on the floor, he was filming his set and had his phone angled towards the walkway. I didn't see the phone on the floor near the squat racks, and I didn't realize I was in the way. After reaching the turf, I noticed another member filming there, so I walked back towards the smith machine. As I walked past the squat racks again, the guy recording, who looked to be in his early twenties, turned around and confronted me aggressively. He said, "Are you happy now?" Confused, I replied, "Excuse me?" He then repeated, "Are you happy now?" and continued, "I know you did it on purpose for attention!" He was pointing to his phone, and his tone was very intimidating. All I could manage to say at that moment was, "I'm sorry, I didn't see it." He then grabbed his phone and stormed off. Thinking he was gone, I decided to finish my last exercise. However, about five minutes later, I saw him back at the squat rack, glaring at me in the mirror, which made me feel unsafe. I decided to leave the gym floor rather than risk further issues. I considered going to the front desk but chose not to because I had a similar issue months ago, and the staff didn't address it properly. This is the second time in a year that I've felt unsafe due to aggressive behavior from members filming their workouts. I joined the YMCA because I believed it would be a welcoming place for all ages and fitness levels. While I'm comfortable working out in a male-dominated space, these filming incidents have been problematic. The gym is not a filming studio, I'm just trying to work out, all I did was walk by. The YMCA needs to address this issue. Considering that my previous complaint was ignored, I'm posting this review to warn potential members and will also be reaching out to corporate as well. The YMCA is supposed to be a family environment, and it's important for the gym to be a safe and respectful place for everyone.

I've attended many different times with a few people or a bunch and have gotten the best workouts no matter the size.
